A perfect place to stay — hiking right out your door. Mountain views and gorgeous sunsets await. The location for us was great — many places to do sightseeing nearby. Also found some great dining in the area. Patrick, casita owner, was very helpful and had many suggestions of area happenings that we might be interested in. This was a wonderful place to “escape” the cold and snowy Wisconsin.

When you can enjoy being on Holiday and see many different venues and sample the local hiking experiences that are available and tour the unique BioSphere 2 and the San Xavier Mission and the Arizona Desert Museum and Sabino Canyon and Pima Air Museum you are off on memorable adventures. And that is what makes you smile and get some warm sun on your walkabouts... also the people you meet and the special spots you discover on your own. And the museums and restaurants and quiet skies at night. You deserve the Best.
Wonderful accommodations and unique setting
The setting is very beautiful, private and directly borders the saguaro and desert lands of Coronado National Forest and Santa Catalina Mountains . A short hike to mountain creeks and ancient (800-1400 a.d.) Hohokam petrogyphs. We were the only ones within sight or sound! Fantastic Arizona sunset views.
The casita accommodations were excellent -- a wing of the owners home -- wifi, Dish net tv, Tucson brouchures, well equipped kitchen. The owner is a wonderful person and has years of knowledge about the nearby lands and petroglyphs, Tucson area sites, restaurants, shopping and history. Gravel road access can be rough w/o an SUV.
Wonderful host (Pat), wonderful casita, perfect access to the dessert. Can't wait to return.
Even though there were some challenges with the weather we could not have been more pleased with our stay.
We truly appreciated Pat's knowledge of the area, very helpful. Pat's two dogs were wonderful too!
Beautifully wild landscape, fully equipped little house, perfect!
I came to paint the landscape and found what could not have been a more perfect location. I was able to walk out onto a covered porch, facing mountains, and then walk straight into the desert where I could leave my equipment over many days and nights undisturbed. The owner, Patrick, is most generous in his desire that his guests have a great experience and was accommodating in every respect, taking us on walks to see the spectacular petroglyphs in the area, and providing small items we left behind.
We kept saying to ourselves, "how did we find this wild and wonderful place? We certainly lucked out!"
When we can enjoy the company of our guests and enhance their experience while here "that's what it's all about"... come to hike, come to paint, come to commune with the desert. Let your inner child out and explore.
perfect Casita... private with it's own patio access to trails for hiking...everything is here
Coopers Hawks and Cardinals; Hummingbirds and Golden finches are here.
End of the road privacy. It's our second time here and we love the Holiday and the owners are delightful.
Opportunity to enjoy a like bit of God's country.
Beautiful place to stay. Owners very accommodating. Offered wonderful ideas for sightseeing and restaurants. Loved the ability to go hiking right out of our backdoor;
even provided hiking sticks. Enjoyed taking pics of the sunsets over the Catalina Mountains. Highly recommend.
