About Tonjia or Mickey Fetterolf

Owners had been vacationing in this area for 20 years and decided to relocate to this area from Birmingham, Alabama in 2012. We love the mountains and the serenity we have found here. 'Honey Hive' is a dream come true !!!

Tonjia or Mickey Fetterolf purchased this cabin in 2013

Why Tonjia or Mickey Fetterolf chose Tennessee

'Honey Hive' is located in the center of all attractions of Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. We purchased this cabin as a rental in hopes others can visit, explore and find peace and happiness as we have found here in East Tennessee. It has been good for our souls.

What makes this cabin unique

Can you say COZY ???? 'Honey Hive' has country charm as well as luxury only minutes away from dining and outlet malls. Some attractions including 'The Island' features live music and fine dining along with a very large Ferris wheel that you can ride and see the parkway from a birds eye view. Margarita-ville is scheduled to open in 2014. Go carts, miniature golf and old time photo shops line the streets of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg for a time to be remembered.

Honey Hive is a cute and cozy little cabin nestled in the woods.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Honey Hive cabin. It was exactly what we were looking for during our visit to Pigeon Forge for our 25th wedding anniversary. The setting is very private and quiet, and the cabin is well kept. Mickey (the owner) welcomed us to Honey Hive & showed us everything we needed to know about the cabin to ensure we had a pleasant stay...and we did! If you want to be nestled in the woods in a private, quiet, cozy cabin, I would recommend Honey Hive. A big thank you to Mickey & Tonjia for a great stay for our 25th wedding anniversary. God Bless!

The cabin is amazing. Loved everything about it. The owners were wonderful checked on us to make sure we had everything we needed and that we were ok. Let us in a little earlier then we were suppose to and we appriciate it because we drive thru the night to get there. Visited many places and was able to go fishing at the lake below the cabin. Couldnt ask for any better of a host or place to stay. Thank you tonjia and mickey we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Hope to see you again soon.

Best place I've ever stayed

  • 5 of 5

The cabin we stayed in was called the Honey Hive. The owners lived next door. We got turned around & called them. They gave us great instruction for us to come in on. They met us & escorted us to the cabin. Once at the cabin they gave us the grand tour. Then they stayed and visited. The 2nd night Micky came right over to fix the tv remote I had messed up. Sweet people with true southern hospitality. I grade them a 5 they deserve higher. We will stay there again. I rented this place because of reviews. They are super good.

Absolutely perfect

  • 5 of 5

WOW the Honey Hive absolutely lives up to all the glowing reviews! Mickey and Tonjia really did greet us like family and made us feel right at home. The cabin is the perfect cozy size. The shower has wonderful water pressure and the hot tub is so relaxing. My kids played out back and found the itty bittiest little frogs! They also found tons of snails in the yard and tadpoles in the lake. The lake is very close but the hill is a very steeeeep walk home! If you have little ones or a lot of gear you might want to drive. But it really is a very short walk. The drive into town is much shorter than I expected. The washer cleans well and the dryer is very efficient. The cabin phone includes free long distance which was great because our cell service in the cabin was very weak. The cabin wifi worked well and we had no trouble with 2 phones and 2 kindles connected. The only kitchen appliance we used is the fridge, but the kitchen is well appointed.

We had an 8 hour drive from Northern Virginia so 2 days of our 4 day getaway was spent traveling. We were drawn to the area by the Titanic Museum so that was our first stop on Saturday. It was a wonderful experience and I highly recommend it. That evening we had dinner at Dixie Stampede and were blow away by the show. Definitely worth the ticket price! And the souvenir cups and flags were surprisingly affordable. We reserved Sunday for relaxing and spent the day at the cabin and the lake. My daughter caught her first fish! I laid on the grass and finally finished a book I’ve been working on for months.

This trip was just perfect. I think it’s the first time that I came home from a trip and I don’t feel like I need a vacation from my vacation! I almost wish I hadn’t already planned a fall trip to another area. There is so much more we’d like to explore in the Sevierville area. We look forward to returning. I especially would like to go to Cades Cove. We just couldn’t squeeze it this time without giving up our “at home” Sunday.

I don’t think you can go wrong with The Honey Hive. Tonjia and Mickey are such warm, genuine people. They really have set up The Honey Hive to make your visit absolutely perfect.

The Honey Hive is the perfect hideaway!

  • 5 of 5

The Honey Hive truly comes with all you could ask for. The cabin was decorated very nicely and was very clean. The cabin is in a great location, convenient to all local attractions. Each day I traveled out for some hiking to different areas of the Smokies or to other places for exploring and it never took long to get back to the cabin. The cabin is located within a "neighborhood", but you aren't right next door to the next cabin. There is just enough seclusion, but you are still near to anything you may need. Tonjia and Mickey were fabulous hosts. They were always a phone call away for help with directions or suggestions of places to go. I look forward to spending another vacation in the cabin and will refer others to do so also.
