About Tonjia or Mickey Fetterolf

Owners had been vacationing in this area for 20 years and decided to relocate to this area from Birmingham, Alabama in 2012. We love the mountains and the serenity we have found here. 'Honey Hive' is a dream come true !!!

Tonjia or Mickey Fetterolf purchased this cabin in 2013

Why Tonjia or Mickey Fetterolf chose Tennessee

'Honey Hive' is located in the center of all attractions of Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. We purchased this cabin as a rental in hopes others can visit, explore and find peace and happiness as we have found here in East Tennessee. It has been good for our souls.

What makes this cabin unique

Can you say COZY ???? 'Honey Hive' has country charm as well as luxury only minutes away from dining and outlet malls. Some attractions including 'The Island' features live music and fine dining along with a very large Ferris wheel that you can ride and see the parkway from a birds eye view. Margarita-ville is scheduled to open in 2014. Go carts, miniature golf and old time photo shops line the streets of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg for a time to be remembered.

The WORST Stay Ever!

  • 5 of 5

Trip from heavenly hell I'll tell you. We booked the Honey Hive in the summer. They allowed me to split my payment over 2 months. We paid well in advance of our trip yet we didn't foresee the Tennessee Wildfires. Debated about cancelling but REEEEAAAALLLYYY needed the getaway; so we decided to risk it. I'd worked 12hrs the night before and my husband had also. We got home packed and hit the road. Drove all the way there on US 441 just to have a sign stating that it was closed and we were only 30 miles from our destination. The frustration was at an all time high. We had to take an alternate route that added another 100-125 miles to get to our destination. When we FINALLY arrived it was all worth it! The Honey Hive was EVERYTHING & MORE! Mr. Mickey and his wife Mrs. Tonjia were so friendly. The cabin was decorated in celebration of 11 yrs of marriage AKA our 1st EVER honeymoon, 1st EVER vacation out of 11 yrs of marriage, and 1st EVER cabin experience. They gave us a lovely card and a lovely bottle of cider. It was just beautiful. Now the WORST part: we only left the cabin TWICE! We just couldn't stay away from the peace and quiet and coziness of the cabin. We had wifi so we could "keep in touch" as well as cable television. We had a landline (just in case our cellphones didn't work) which made me love the cabin even more. There were books to read, playing cards, movies, pot & pans and everything in between. We spent most of our time in the outdoor hottub and just loving on one another. SO LISTEN UP! If you want to go somewhere cozy, beautiful, peaceful, quiet, and just plain inspirational; you can't go wrong renting the Honey Hive in TN. The owners are just beautiful and the honey and I are already planning our return. THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING Mr. Mickey & Mrs. Tonjia. We'll be seeing you soon!

Beautiful Cozy Getaway

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I just returned from our honeymoon where we stayed in Honey Hive. It was such a cozy cabin and was very romantic with the waterfall in the bedroom and the fireplace in bedroom and living room. We also liked the hot-tub to relax in the evening. It was also close to town, so we were able to get out and go hiking some. I highly recommend Honey Hive for your next getaway.

Great little cabin

  • 5 of 5

Great cabin off the beaten path but still convenient to everything in Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg. Very well stocked and comfortable. Love the porches! Peaceful place to go out and drink coffee (or wine). Property was extremely clean. Bed was so comfy!

Owners are great to work with, very friendly and accommodating.

We would definitely book with them again and book this property!

Great place

  • 5 of 5

Loved the cabin, had all the amenities you would ever need. Tonjia and Mickey were great hosts, very helpful and accommodating. Even though we had just met it seemed like we had known them forever. The location was perfect, peaceful and quiet but only minutes away from the attractions and restaurants. We will return.

Wonderful honeymoon at the Honey Hive!

  • 5 of 5

I gave my daughter and her husband ( married Oct. 29th 2016!) a week at the Honey Hive for their honeymoon and they loved it! They were so excited about everything - from the "Mr. and Mrs." welcome motifs to the location and view to the wonderful owners and to the adorable "bear" décor! They said it was absolutely wonderful for their honeymoon! They made many day trips out and enjoyed the ambience of the quiet evenings and the view from the porch and the hot tub! They were extremely grateful for the hospitality of Mickey and Tonjia too! My daughter is from the coast of SC and was not familiar with the Smokey Mts. but I think she has truly fallen in love now with that area of Tennessee. Thanks for everything and they may be back sometime in the near future ( maybe for an anniversary) for another visit to the "Honey Hive"!
