I grew up in a family that rented properties and love providing people a great place to stay. I bought my first Duplex in 1994 and haven't looked back. I only purchase quality houses in great neighborhoods. Rest assured that you will enjoy staying here.
Alex Hansen purchased this apartment in 2006
I love to cook and entertain and lived in this apartment for ten years before listing it as a vacation rental. I love the high end finishes and quality furnishings. It has been completely renovated and ready for you to enjoy!
The unit has a new hot-tub and has a very private back yard, yet is only one mile from the Minneapolis Convention Center and both Downtown and Uptown.
Overall this was a great place. We had six women staying here. There was plenty of space for relaxing and sleeping (2/bed and 1 each on couches.) The hot tub in the back yard was really nice. Back yard felt very private and serene, you wouldn't know you were in the city. The living space was very well laid out for cooking and socializing. Main living space was very bright and open. The location was fantastic. It felt very safe. We walked to downtown Minneapolis in about 15 minutes. We took an Uber home and it was less than $6. We stayed in May 2016. Nearby roads are under major construction so plan extra travel time if you are driving. If not for construction, it would have been very easy to get on/off major highways to get around the metro.
Some minor things were in need of repair -- not all features of the really cool stove worked and the shower handle felt like it was going to fall off when we turned it hard enough to get water. There was a big leak in the pipes under the sink (water gushing on the kitchen floor when we used the sink) but Alex fixed it the next day. He was very responsive to our questions.
I would absolutely stay here again or recommend this place.
Very nice ! Kitchen area and appliances almost makes you want to stay in if it were not for the convenient location to great eating places and downtown Minneapolis. We had one request of the owner for additional reading lamps which was promptly fulfilled. The TV is easy to operate and has multiple channels, Netflix and DVR for recording. Beds are comfortable and the neighborhood is quiet and safe. Great experience here and would definitely request this location for our next extended visit to the Cities.
We were in Minneapolis apartment hunting with our son who just got relocated to the MSP area. We contacted the owner and he replied within minutes. The house is in a prime location, minutes from the Uptown area and Downtown Minneapolis. The apartment is the upstairs portion of the house, with two separately rented apartments downstairs.
The upsides: the very responsive owner, the home's location, the kitchen is awesome! There's also a nice big deck and a hot tub (which we didn't use because it was really cooooold outside) . There's also a nice big TV with a DVR in the living room and a working gas fireplace. The bathroom floor is heated which is really, really nice! And lastly there is a nice desk/work station if you have to work while you're there.
The downsides (which were by no means a negative but just a matter of full disclosure): It's sparsely decorated--no curtains (there were blinds in the bedrooms but they were inoperable) and lacked a few conveniences--only one bed side table, no end tables by one sofa, no mirror in the bedrooms(which would have been really nice esp with only one bathroom so you can do your hair/make-up while the other person is showering). And the house is right across from a busy highway so the road noise woke us up in the morning (but just to be clear, we're from Texas and live where we never hear any traffic).
The only real negative is the property only has one bathroom. It didn't bother us much until the last morning when we all needed to shower and get out the door to catch our flights home.
All in all it's a great property and a very good owner. I would not hesitate to rent again and recommend it to others visiting the MSP area.
I needed this space for a special gathering. The kitchen was perfect for such an activity. I wish the hot tub was hotter? It might have been user error though.
There was ample space, the place was very clean, wifi was perfect and cable was easy to figure out. Inside and secluded backyard was very nice. Its nicer "in" than "out" just because its a duplex. We weren't outside the front of the house anyways! ;) And this is subjective anyways since the neighborhood is surrounded by mansions.
We stayed here in early October with friends from college. Four adults, two little girls, lots of fun. The property is spacious and well maintained, the kitchen is fantastic for cooking, and the hot tub was a big hit with the adults and kids. The surrounding neighborhood is gorgeous and fun to explore, and the location is central to museums, parks, restaurants, and downtown. The beds were comfortable, and there was lots of seating- we were in town for a wedding, so several other friends came over to visit. Great space for entertaining- lots of places for people to sit and talk. Would definitely want to stay here again if we're back in the area.
We enjoyed our stay at this Kenwood property. It is spacious and accommodating. The only hiccup was that the grill was very dirty and out of gas. Other than that, the place was well-maintained. Overall, the owner was very responsive.
The house is located in the Kenwood neighborhood, one of the most exclusive areas of Minneapolis and a few blocks from the Minneapolis Sculpture garden and Walker Art Center, and downtown Minneapolis. Also conveniently between Cedar Lake, Lake of the Isles and Lake Calhoun with many walking/biking trails. Close to Downtown, Uptown, and U of M and 1 block from the bus lines or $8 cab ride.
