Great stay at The Nook!

  • 5 of 5

Thank you so much for your prompt refund of my security deposit! Your family has a lovely cabin! My cousin and I so enjoyed our time (way too short!) there as well as the surrounding area. Everything was so clean and ready for us when we arrived. Your cleaning team did an awesome job! Janet said the bed was sooooooo comfy and that she slept better than she had in a very long time. Rather than utilize the hide-a-bed in the living room, I opted to just sleep in one of the loungers and was totally and completely comfortable doing so. Due to hip problems, I often do that at home as well so it wasn't a big deal. I slept VERY well. I think our, or really my, as I'm the warm-natured one, only complaint would be that the cabin did get rather warm in the afternoon while we were there. We only returned early one afternoon so it wasn't a big deal for us. However, it could be an issue for someone just hanging out at the cabin all day during the warmer summer weather. We couldn't really tell if there was air conditioning or how to operate it if there was. Windows opened helped cool it down, but it could get toasty in July and August.

Thank you so much for supplying such great info on the surrounding area. We attempted to eat at Ranchos Grill, but it was on Monday afternoon and they were closed. We'll try again! That led us to find the Guadalajara Grill and the beef tacos (street tacos) were fabulous!! Your cabin is so wonderfully centrally located that it allowed us the ability to explore the area and enjoy making new memories to go along with the ones we hold from earlier years. Being able to sit on the deck in the early morning with a cup of coffee or hot cocoa and watch the many birds and hummingbirds was so relaxing. We loved having the firepit in the cool mountain evenings as we watched the stars blink on one by one. You might consider supplying some fat wood and a butane lighter to make it a little easier to light the firepit after a rainy afternoon. We were able to get it done, but it did take some doing. Just a little thing, but it would be a big help.

We will definitely recommend your beautiful cabin to our friends and family! We had no problem with the dog next door or with traffic noise on 64. We would absolutely return to The Nook!! Thanks again for sharing with us!

Cute and Very Cozy..... Obnoxious Barking Dog Lives Next Door

  • 4 of 5

The cabin is so cute and everything worked perfectly, Wi-Fi was fast and loved the Roku TV system. It was very clean and has an awesome view.

However......I would have liked to give this property a 5 star, but there is a problem that I'm not sure the owner can fix. About 50 feet away, just to the left of the picture is a Mobile Home and the lady who lives there leaves her dog tied out when she is not home and he barks non stop if you are outside on the deck. When we used the BBQ or I wanted to read a book out on the deck , the dog would not stop barking. I am a dog person and I just felt it's cruel to keep him tied up so it's not the dog's fault, but the owner of the dog. I just want to warn anyone who rents this adorable cabin, that you may have to stay inside and not be able to enjoy the lovely deck area.

This was the PERFECT getaway from the city out in the mountain area just as mentioned on the VRBO . It is like 10-15 minutes from town. Loved it! Super clean and perfect for our family! Dont know why anyone would give it anything but 5 stars and up. The owner was quick to respond with anything questions. I really enjoyed it i must say i got exactly what i expected and more.Fully equipped with what we needed. I definitely will recommend to my friends and family and we will be back .

cute cabin but it's a way from town-check the bedding before you jump in 👎

  • 3 of 5

Wish the cabin was closer to Taos ski valley where we skied-but will know next time. The bedding sheets were dirty-still had the previous renters socks balled up in the sheets and hair. It's pet friendly-but we didn't bring any animals. There was plenty of animal hair left on the floor for the next animal lover. The bed must be very worn or old as we both slept in a "hole" in the middle of the mattress. The remaining part of the condo is lovely, cozy and supplied for what you need. Be careful of the trailer house neighbors dog-we were unloading luggage and the damned dog came and peed all over the tires and one of our suitcases. Then as we drove off to tour the town-it aggressively chased our vehicle. Visit Abe's for friendly town people having a cold drink/free popcorn and this is the place for breakfast. Also for live music/drinks/food, go to the KTAO solar bar-very upbeat happening place for visitors and locals. Visit the Rio Grande Gorge bridge while in town for a historical visit. There is no cable or local tv. You have something called Roku which had Netflix on a game controller once you figure out how to use it. Due to high winds at 28mph in town, we could only ski two out of three days as planned. We left a day early-I cleaned the cabin and washed the sheets and towels for the next guest. I let the owner know we departed a day early and our issues with cabin and had no replies or response.

Owner's Response: We always appreciate feedback! We have reviewed our procedures and continue to make improvements. We take great pride in maintaining a clean and comfortable cabin for our guests. We spend a full 3-4 hours cleaning after each guest that is why we have a 4pm check in time. Our house manager has been with us since we started 3 years ago and she is excellent! She gets a FIVE STAR RATING as can be noted in the past!

Very nice getaway

  • 5 of 5

The cabin is very accommodating with all the comforts of home; washer/dryer, full kitchen, wood stove, outdoor grill, etc. Within a short drive of Taos, Angel Fire and the "Enchanted Circle." We were very pleased that the owners allowed dogs.
