About Judy Cardell

We are a mother-daughter team, working together to share the beauty, peace, and joy of the SkiInn and Winter Park with others. Judy leads a very busy life "down the hill" in Boulder, where she works as a therapist and volunteer. Jenni now lives in California, pursuing a new career in Marine Biology, but returns to Colorado many times every year and always includes a trip to the SkiInn as part of her visit back home.

Generally, your initial contact will be with Judy for dates, rates, and other information, and Judy will be more than happy to talk with you about anything and everything! Want to know the best sequence of lifts and runs on the mountain? The history of the Moffat Tunnel? Where to find really great and inexpensive lasagna? She knows all this, and more!

Judy Cardell purchased this house in 1993

Why Judy Cardell chose Winter Park

Judy spent many years volunteering for the Winter Park Handicapped Ski Program and fell in love with the Winter Park/Mary Jane ski area and the town of Winter Park. The neighborhood of "Old Town Winter Park" is particularly special as it is extremely close to the ski area, but without the crowds and close quarters of the lodging located right at the base. Judy is delighted to be a member of Skimeisters, a local senior ski cl

What makes this house unique

A few of our favorite places included Adolf"s for light food and drinks, A family owned ski shop, Alpine Sun, is located across the street from my home. They offer a discount for guests of the SkiInn.

We love summertime. Whether hiking, walks with the dogs along the creek path or perhaps just hanging out on the decks or hot tub, we invite your family to enjoy our own home away from home. There are so many great winter and summer activities. You can see the dates for these at the Winter Park Chamber of Commerce website. I am looking forward to hearing from you. and am happy to answer any questions about our wonderful Winter Park!

Wonderful holiday stay

We had a wonderful Christmas in Judy's house and she was a very thoughtful host. My 28 and 30 yr old children were so surprised to come in and see a christmas tree with gifts that I had mailed to Judy prior to our arrival. The house was comfortable and a great location for accessing the slopes. The property was exactly as listed and very clean. The hot tub was a real plus after a day of skiiing. I would love to come back in the summer and experience the area in another season.

Family summer vacation

The home was roomy enough for the nine of us who were there. Being close to Winter Park Resort was a plus. Everyone enjoyed watching the Humming birds feed just outside the window. Our grandsons liked watching the trains go by. The kitchen had all the things we needed to prepare every meal. It is a place we would return to if ever in Winter Park again.

Get ready for the best vacation of your life.

The Ski Inn is the perfect launching pad for your vacation. Walking distance to the lifts or the amazing shuttle system that stops at the base of the hill and can get you to every venue. The house has just the character to cater to all your needs. The kitchen was complete to include spices, coffee, crock pot, and everything I could use for a two week stay. Fondue, there too. Rooms are large with large closets. Two complete bathrooms. Front and back decks with excellent views. Hot tub on third deck. Washer and dryer with soap included. Gas fireplace. Mud room with many pegs for jackets. Outside racks for skis. The owner Judith was a perfect host with loads of advice.

Get ready for the best vacation of your life. The Ski Inn is the premier starting point for a year around vacation. The ski area offers a satisfactory mix of black and green slopes and smaller crowds. There are three separate Nordic Centers for the cross country aficionados with over 300 miles of trails combined. Trails for snow shoeing abound. In summer there is an abundance of mountain biking trails. The nearby towns of Winter Park and Fraser are quaint and offer all the amenities for young and old: bars, shops, live music.

Owner's Response: What can I say! Thank you so much for your lovely review. This review is only equal to the kindness and thoughtfulness of you as guests. It was so much fun for me to see how you and your extended family and friends were able to enjoy my home, the ski area and Winter Park. I hope you come again in the summer as it is just as wonderful in the summer months. I love this place so much, and am happy to share my home away from home with you.

Ski Inn Experience

  • 5 of 5

The perfect location nestled a short walk from the base of the Winter Park Ski Area, but outside of the area proper. The lonesome whistle of the trains coming in and out of the West Portal of the Moffat Tunnel in the evening add to the charm and mystique of this beautiful mountain home. Ample space inside and a beautiful deck that surrounds 3/4 of the main floor offers spectacular views of the Continental Divide to the east. It is just a two minute walk from the paved Winter Park-Fraser Trail that runs along the Fraser River through Winter Park, to Fraser, with extensions further west along the valley. It is cozy and comfortable year round.
