Transcend paradise with our absolute oceanfront 3 story home located only blocks to Kailua-Kona town and within a guarded gated community of luxury estates. Your private oceanfront setting overlooks rich lava, white sands, crashing waves and Hawaii's famous romantic sunsets.  

Ke’ala Ho’omaika’i  (The Blessed Path) was artisan designed to offer you 180 degrees of ocean front shoreline, while relaxing in 7,000+ square feet of elegant living space. When you arrive and open your mahogany entry gates you will walk into a tropical meditation garden. A gentile cascading waterfall draws you along the meandering path and over the pond to the grand entrance. Even before entering your home the stunning view of the Pacific Ocean beyond the disappearing walls takes your breath away. Throughout your stay the beautiful Pacific Ocean will be the backdrop for all of your memories. 

As you walk through the home you will be surrounded by commissioned art work done by several local artists. The entryway inlayed Monstera Leaves are by artist Alex Gupta and will lead you to the open great room / gathering area and beyond to the covered lanai, infinity pool and ocean. The gathering area offers comfortable seating for all.

Adjacent to the great room is  your chef designed kitchen with a generous bar sink island for dining or serving. Included is a Wolf six burner stove/plus griddle and two ovens; the kitchen also offers a built in drawer microwave, two dishwashers, two full size sub-zero degrees refrigerator and freezer with ice-maker. Hand carved from granite and travertine tile is an original tropical floral design on the wall above the range. A more extensive list of amenities is listed below. 

The home is comprised of 4 Bedrooms (3 en suites), 5 Bathrooms.

One ensuite is on the main floor; three bedrooms are accessed by the grand spiral staircase. The second floor hosts two bedroom en suites. The third floor has the fourth bedroom.

Aloha Suite is oceanfront with a private furnished covered lanai and a full size hot tub overlooking the ocean. The King Size Tempurpedic bed faces the azure blue waves. Aloha Suite has another Gupta work of art: inlayed  glass etched leaves under the bathtub and 'growing' up the shower walls. An impressive piece of art that has been displayed in both national and international publications. 

From the stair case there is a covered outdoor pathway with magnificent views of Mount Hualalai leading to Dolphin Suite.

Dolphin Suite has a king size bed in a private tropical retreat setting. Your lounging lanai has a shoreline view looking north for what seems like forever. Ensuite shower. It also includes a flat screen TV with DVD player, iPod dock, ceiling fan, desk and office supplies.

On the third floor we proudly present: 

Lanihau (Heavenly Hibiscus) offering an authentic 1800s converted to a king size Chinese Wedding Bed (originally owned by Bart Ward of Batman and Robin fame) looking out to the ocean on three sides, you are literally surrounded by the sights and sounds of the Pacific Ocean!  The suite has two lanais: The oceanfront lanai has a breathtaking views up and down the coast as if perched in a crows nest. The mauka (mountain) view lanai is the ideal location to enjoy that first sip of Kona coffee while sharing in the view of the sun rising above the mountains each morning. There is also a twin size day bed for lounging, flat screen TV, ceiling fan, small refrigerator, sink and library. This suite is an open air suite with no solid door for entry off of the stair case... similar to a loft but more private (people can not see in from below).

Hale Honu (Turtle House) which is located off of the entry way and to the right of the great room, a very private suite with it's own second entrance from the meditation garden. This Oceanfront Suite has a private covered lani and tropical garden, complete with large bamboo swing to while away the hours. Your queen offers views to the ocean. There is a granite petite kitchenette with a small refrigerator and microwave. This suite has an artfully designed wheel chair accessible shower, flat screen TV, ipod dock, walk in closet and ceiling fan. 

Sit on any one of the numerous ocean front lanais and be entertained by the spinner dolphins, whales and turtles. These are just some of the many visitors that on any given day may find their way to the ocean just steps away from your vacation paradise.

The grand lanai off of the great room has a large covered area gently leading to the open sunning area and ocean front infinity swimming pool. The ocean is just steps beyond. The area is large enough for an event with the intimacy of a family gathering.

Ke’ala Ho’omaika’i  is the most northern home in this gated community offering the only completely unobstructed northern coastline view. All coastline in Hawaii is given respect as sacred ground, but the area directly in front of your home is considered to be the most revered. Ka'ma'aina (local community) honor their ancestors at this location. Christenings, Proposals, and Wedding Ceremonies take place on the shoreline adjacent to your home. This spot is also considered one of the best shore diving locations in the world.

Just a few steps away is the community park that offers Olympic size pool, indoor sports center, tennis courts, pickle ball, horseshoes, soccer and baseball fields, a community garden walking track and an outdoor roller rink.

 

You are just a short stroll to a sandy waveless beach. 

Just a two minute drive is the International Market Place and the Kona Brewery. The International Market Place offers local gifts, artwork and cuisine. Kona Brewery is the home of the world renown island brews.

Beautiful location and wonderful layout for a family. The littles loved the pool and the tidal pools

We enjoyed this beautiful home - the first floor was perfect for the family hang out area and the views were spectacular. The infinity pool competed with tidal pools for the most fun. Mahalo.

Blow Your Mind Amazing....The Most Awesome Place in all of Kona Bay

Just arrived this past Sunday and can't believe our fortune in getting to stay at this amazing home for the rest of this week. From the moment we arrived, we knew that this would be the vacation of a lifetime. The home is so well stocked, and two dishwashers and three washer/dryersets sure come in handy with a group of 4 couples. Every bedroom is an oversized ensuite with its own private ocean front lanai and private bathroom. Having stayed at other homes in this community, I can honestly say that there is no more beautiful view of the ocean than from the lanais and swimming pool of this home. All the furniture and furnishings are tastefully done and the management personnel go over and above to meet your every need. You are at the most northern end of the community and directly adjacent to the park with all of its amenities. If you desire a vacation of total isolation from the rest of the world, this may not be the perfect home for you. You are in close proximity to the park and there is public access to all of the beaches in Hawaii. For us, this is a net benefit. The silence we sacrificed on two occasions 1.) listening to the sounds of hawaiian music coming from the park and, 2.) local children participating in a sport event we found both inviting and entertaining. We would recommend this home to anyone and everyone that wants to stay in an estate of superior quality, with breathtaking views of the Kona coastline and unforgettable sunsets. Yesterday we saw a whale directly in front of the home putting on a dinner performance just for us.....WOW...Blew our minds!!

Location on the Ocean is Fantastic

This home is beautiful. The pool and patio are perfect. We had all our dinners outdoors watching the sunset on the ocean. Loved lighting the gas tiki torches every night. House was so well stocked that we entertained friends and family by having a dinner party of 16 one night. The snorkeling in the cove is the best. Spotted so many colorful fish, turtles, eel and an octopus. Close to shopping and restaurants. All 4 bedrooms and bathrooms are perfect for 4 couples. The manager is very attentive and satisfied all our needs. The only complaint is on the weekends the rec park behind the house is very active with sporting events using announcers and playing music over loud speakers. If you are located ocean side it's fine but we had to shut up the windows and doors on the rec park side of the house to block out the noise. I suggest you plan on exploring the island on those days. Hilo and Waimea are great day trip destinations.

Old and tired........

The home description and pictures were definitely misleading. The furniture was very dated, tattered and the towels, sheets, bedspreads, etc. were quite old. The cleaning that was done after the prior guests left was not done well. We had to rewash the kitchen utensils as they were not that clean.

The layout of the house is very odd. The top floor has no bathroom and you have to go down one flight of stairs to use one. The master bedroom on the second floor has a his and hers bathroom, but one was shut off so that a different bedroom could use that one. The outside upstairs bedroom that is accessed by going out a door and down an exposed hallway was not very helpful if you have children as you could not leave them alone.

The view from the backyard was very nice (a positive). The ocean view was beautiful, however, there was no privacy. No problem with people walking the public walkway that separates the home from the ocean. The problem is that the location of the home at the end of the street offers no security since it is right next to a public parking lot, tennis courts, and open fields. The noise in the evening was ridiculous. No fault of the people in the public places--they had every right to party and play loud music--it was a public place. The problem was that you could hear it from inside the house and especially from the outside bedroom. No matter what we did (closing doors, windows, etc.), the only relief we got was when the partying stopped.

Honestly, if we did not have to leave early because my granddaughter became ill, we would have left anyway because it was not tolerable. The daily price was extremely high and we could have found much more suitable accommodations that were equal to or less than what we paid.

We had an amazing experience in a home in Kona Bay Estates 4 months prior, so we knew the area and thought this property would be comparable. Not by a longshot. The other property was already booked, otherwise, we would have booked there for our stay.

This is the first negative review I have ever given, but this property needs a lot of work, and if you do not need the security and privacy a "gated" community has, then book this property. So overpriced and not very functional. Very noisy and no privacy.

Owner's Response: We are so sorry that you did not have a more enjoyable experience at Kona Bay Estates. Had you contacted us at any time during the first three days of your stay, we would have immediately addressed your concerns. The first we heard of any of these was only after we learned (from a guest other than you) that the reason you were leaving was due to the child’s illness. We must assume that the difficulties associated with a disrupted vacation and an ill child may have fueled some of these comments. As you may recall you initiated quite a few calls prior to your arrival and all were met with ‘aloha’. After you arrived in Kona you placed another last minute call insisting on an early check in time. Again, as a courtesy to you a lot of last minute adjustments were made to accommodate your needs. Being that the comments you have written are now so contrary to the warm remarks made to one of the caretakers after your arrival, we were understandably a little surprised at any delay in contacting us. Any attempts since on our part to initiate contact with you have been totally ignored. I can only respond to these comments as follows: 1.     Properties have low season and high season rates. Our property is comparable to all others in the area and our fees are considerably less than the property you stayed in July (low season). 2.     There is only one street in Kona Bay Estates and it is parallel to the ocean and the state park. All homes are adjacent to the park and during November/December (the time you were at our property) there are many celebration and activities going on. There is a noise ordinance of 10pm throughout the community. You are the first guest that has ever indicated that the activities were more than noticeable (let alone disruptive) when inside the main part of the residence, as all rooms are on the makai (ocean) side of the home. 3.     All sheets and bedding are of top quality and replaced as necessary with a maximum life span of 90 days. All bedding throughout the home (with the exception of beach towels) was completely replaced in mid-October. We do keep a large stock of used beach towels in the water toy closet as a courtesy to take to the beach without concern for damaging good linen            As to any other concerns raised, we can only say that we stand by our description of the property and will continue to give our best efforts to provide a vacation residence that clearly appeals to the discriminating tastes of our many returning guests.

The Perfect Vacation

Absolutely stunning vacation home. We awoke every morning to the sunrise over the beautiful scenic horizon that could be seen in a panoramic view from EVERY bedroom in the house. Beautifully kept and maintained. We constantly felt safe with the security guard on rounds every couple of hours and felt our own sort of peaceful seclusion even though we were in a neighborhood. It was the most serene piece of the island with our own little cove that you could swim around in and snorkel for a small little view of some of the colorful fish. The water was CRYSTAL clear and a little tide pool stayed protected near the house that was perfect for a small dip if you don't want to climb over the lava rocks. All of the rooms had bathrooms and laundry areas and the spa showers were PHENOMENAL for rinsing off after a long day at the beach. I absolutely can't wait to return!

Paradise

This house and the surrounding property were an absolute dream come true. The house was beautifully decorated and furnished, and the view was unbelievable. The maintenance staff was courteous and considerate of our schedule. The place was spotless. After less than a week visiting, I was ready to move in. If you are looking for the perfect spot for an unforgettable dream vacation. This is definitely it. Even the locals visiting the nearby beach were friendly. Two showed us a nearby underwater cave that I swam through. Amazing experience. Amazing property. Don't miss your opportunity to stay here.
