If your sensibilities and preferences run towards a private, quiet hid-a-way that is beautiful, peaceful, with miles of trails from your flowering back yard, Wonderland lake a 30 second walk away, and the whole north Boulder complex of stores and eateries two blocks away, then this solar town-home may be your perfect vacation destination or retreat getaway.
It’s location on open space is prime, yet inside you feel like you are in a sanctuary with rugs and tapestries from all over the orient, original art throughout, custom made furniture, handmade ceramic tableware made by your hostess.
This three story home hosts both dining and living, access to outside both front and back, powder room, kitchen and entry way on the main floor. The upper floor has the master bed, bath and closet, full second bathroom, office and a reading room or study, while the lower floor has W/D, 1/2 bath, second bedroom, as well as a full studio should you wish to bring your paints and brushes, the easel and your creative inspiration await.
This is a perfect home for one or two couples or individuals if you value a quiet aesthetic comfortable home within easy reach of all this area has to offer, however we do not accept more than four people resident in this home, at any time and because this is our primary home and not simply a rental you will find the best quality of everything you may need. We also encourage a phone talk before you book to answer any questions and to ensure the best fit for us all. Because of the placement of the bedrooms, this home is not well suited for young children but perfect for adults or families with older children or teens.
Should you wish to explore a fun sustainable urban lifestyle, there are bikes to be rented within an easy walk. Two blocks away, a bus line that will take you downtown if you choose not to either cycle or walk. Within the home itself the chance to compost, recycle should that appeal to you, all the while being powered by the generous Boulder sunshine.
This home has both AC, full house fan, shady back yard, outdoor eating, whole house WI-FI, high quality natural bedding and mattress, natural non chemical cleaning products used, views of the flatirons and the foothills, outdoor grill, infrared indoor sauna, upgraded everything. Reduced rates for monthlong stays and beyond.
We ourselves live 'shoes off' to keep the home clean and protect the rugs and maple floors. This is also our strong preference and request of our guests. If you are traveling with a pet, we would wish to discuss the dogs needs in relation to the space and yards offerings.
Because this is our primary residence, we are most concerned about the compatibility of our guests with the house itself and the neighborhood. As a result of answering and asking questions on the front end, we have had two years of mutual delight. We will ask to talk on the phone to field any concerns and questions to ensure the property most suits your needs and wants. This also breaks the ice, so that we have created the ease for further communication if and when needed.

This is our primary home, but each summer we pile our golden retriever into the car and journey to a remote island up in B.C. Canada where we farm, retreat and live very simply.
That is why our Boulder home is now available on VRBO for four summer months. We are both recently retired psycho therapists, living out 'golden years' by pursuing a creative life writing, being a potter, artist, reading and spending time outdoors with our dogs, deepening friendships and visiting and being visited by children and grand.
Priya Huffman purchased this townhome in 2009
We choose to move down from our precious house in the mountains because we wanted to spend less time driving. We valued the chance to live close to the open spaces and walking trails that Boulder has to offer, yet be close enough to walk to our local coffee shop and the best organic market in town. We outfitted the townhouse with solar panels and proceeded to modernize and upgrade all the systems. Now it provides the best of both world and is so quiet, it's hard to even sense that other people live next door. We were really wanting to live a sustainable urban life yet still be in easy access to the natural world with all it's creatures.
This became our home of choice because it's so utterly private, comfortable, sustainable and quiet. In the summer, it's shaded and cool, in the winters it's abundantly sunny warm and bright. We downsized to a home that is welcoming but not grand, aesthetic but not showy. plush but not full. Spacious but every space useable. For us, it was important to have a studio space for me as well as distinct rooms that would allow for quiet reading or writing areas.
We love the outdoor access. The open views of the front range and from the upper bedroom the flatirons. It has a good feeling of ease and peace.
My husband and I absolutely loved staying in the lovely home of Priya and Thomas; our experience was simply amazing. The look and feel of this home exceeded our VERY high expectations. The quality of this experience matched, and in many ways surpassed, some of the most exquisite, first-class vacations I’ve ever had, including stays at The Peninsula in Chicago, The Westin in Florence, Miraval Spa in Arizona and The Lumeria in Maui.
The space felt like a sanctuary where one fills their soul. And we each did indeed fill ours. We spent more time at this home base than we’ve ever done on previous getaways because we loved being in the space so much.
We loved the retreat-like experience which, among other things, included use of a beautifully equipped kitchen with its high-end appliances. And we loved cooking beautiful meals with food from the Boulder Farmer’s Market. We also enjoyed the neighborhood places that others have referenced. Very quickly, we felt like we were home.
This was our first time staying north of the Pearl Street area. We were both a little unsure of how we’d feel about this. AND, it turned out we loved being close enough to walk into town if we wanted and far enough to be outside of the fray. Ideal location for us.
My experience of dealing with Priya was perfectly delightful. She answered all of my questions professionally and kindly. Additionally, the on-site contacts were wonderful. We didn’t actually meet Cassidy in person because she was out of town during our stay, but we knew she was available to us if we needed her. Erin, Cassidy’s assistant, took excellent care of us; she showed us around the house when we arrived and offered many tips including suggestions for great hiking trails, places to food shop, and recommendations for other things we could do in Boulder.
I contacted Erin a few times during our stay and she responded timely and professionally. A couple of unexpected issues came up for us and we so appreciated how Erin (and Priya) responded. Sometimes life can toss you a surprise and we were pleased to have been met with total professionalism and fairness.
I also appreciated that Priya and Thomas encouraged us to continue with their recycling program, which we did wholeheartedly.
Truly, the perfect place for the ultimate getaway. We feel such gratitude for the opportunity to stay at this wonderful home and hope to return soon!
This was my third trip to Boulder, CO and my second visit to Priya and Thomas beautiful home in the lovely Wonderland Lake area.
I was welcomed when I arrived by the very helpful and friendly, Cassidy, who I met the year prior, and equally kind and lovely, Erin, who is the other property manager. They provided me an update on the house and Erin graciously offered to provide entertainment and restaurant recommendations during my two week stay.
There is so much to love about this property; first and most importantly, it has great energy!
The owners’ choice of furnishings, the lighting and the décor made me feel comfortable and at home. It also has a spacious kitchen where I enjoyed cooking many meals during my stay, Boulder has a great restaurant scene, but it is nice dining in at this property, especially with its charming and quiet backyard and kind on the budget.
The bedrooms are comfortable and pleasantly cool. I never had to turn the AC on despite the high 80’s temperature during the day. There is a functional office where I was able to work for some of my stay, a meditation room, and the most amazing well stocked library, which as an avid bibliophile was both a blessing and a curse.
Sadly, it is unlikely I will stay at this property again, because I found my own home in Boulder! It was a tough search since I found few that measured up to this beautiful gem of a property in North Boulder.
If you stay here, you won’t be disappointed and who knows, we may end up meeting at the Boulder bookstore or in a coffee shop in town !
We moved from our home near this property in North Boulder not long ago, and so were excited to be back in our Wonderland Hills neighborhood for a month recently. The location is exceptional if you value peace and quiet, having plenty of open space around you, and access to good trails and all the North Boulder cycling routes close by. The back yard is delightful and we spent much time there dining, reading and just relaxing.
The kitchen is small but functional, although a couple of additional items, like a conventional coffee maker and toaster would have made things a bit more convenient. And although we don’t really watch much television, the location and small size of the TV in the upstairs study made it challenging to enjoy the few shows we did try to watch. The TV is located in a closet, and when open the door blocks a portion of the screen for viewing.
For the two of us, there was plenty of room; there is a large second bedroom on the lower level, but it has only a half-bath. The nearest shower is on the second floor, which really isn’t an ideal arrangement for more than one adult couple sharing the house. This house probably would also not be ideal for a couple with small children since the bedrooms are separated by 2 floors.
The owners and the property manager couldn’t have been more responsive and helpful. Overall, we enjoyed our stay in this Wonderland Hills home and would have given this property a 5 star rating had the rental been a better value. We have stayed in other rental properties that have been as nice or nicer for considerably less and for us the North Boulder location didn't justify the cost.
Excellent location, easy access to Estes Park, white water rafting, rock climbing, ziplining, close to Pearl Street, but not too close. Love the nature walks on the trails behind the condo. Cassidy was great, it was like having our own private coincierge. It would have been nice to have a real coffee pot, but the french press did work fine after Cassidy got us the instructions. Close to health club which was great. The little market was a nice benefit too. This would not be a condo for a family with small children, but we didn't have any, so it was perfect for us.
We had the pleasure of staying in this property for two weeks this summer. The house is beautiful. The neighborhood is quiet and safe. The location in North Boulder is convenient, while still benefitting from exquisite nature just out the back door. We loved walking around Wonderland Lake in the mornings and evenings. We cooked good meals with the enormous windows wide open, then enjoyed eating in the charming back yard. Such a retreat. We felt cared for and honored to be in this home. Renters should note that Priya and Thomas have some beautiful belongings which they generously share with guests including one-of-a-kind ceramics and antique rugs. I was a bit nervous staying among such lovely artifacts with my young children. Also note that the second bedroom is quite secluded from the rest of the house, particularly from the master bedroom. This is no doubt a big plus for some travelers, but for our kids it felt very far from mom and dad. This home is an absolutely fantastic rental!
In a word, perfection.
My family just returned from a week long stay at this property and we couldn't have been happier with the house and the location. The furnishings are top notch and everything is beautifully decorated. There are so many little details that set this property apart. For example, upon our arrival we found a crafts table with art pads, crayons etc.. that Priya had set out for our kids. Another little detail that we loved were the Tempurpedic pillows. We sleep on these at home and are always a bit disappointed when we travel and have to go without them. Lastly, after a a long day of travel, we were preparing for bed on the first night when we looked out of the windows in the master bedroom and saw a group of deer bedding down just outside of the courtyard gate.
The highlight for my family was the courtyard, and open spaces / parks adjacent to the house. Being from Houston, it made us so happy to see our young children walk out of the courtyard gate and go exploring in the vast open area in front of the house. They would play out there for hours. Just across the street is a larger park and a pretty challenging trail that goes up the mountain. If you are traveling with kids, make sure you visit the park just over the ridge on the north side of the lake.
My family feels very fortunate that we found this property. We had such high expectations when we planned this trip and we weren't disappointed. We will definitely be back next year.
miles of hiking and walking from the back yard, great downtown restaurants and shopping, walking distance to downtown boulder. Wonderland lake nature preserve 30 seconds away. An organic market, four eateries, one coffee shop and a bakery just two blocks away. Bus line five minute walk away. On bike path.
