GORGEOUS PROPERTY. Original 18th C. Dutch barn, fully converted, located in the Catskills/Hudson Valley area. It has 3 levels, and is incredibly spacious. There is an industrial-style kitchen with an eat-in counter, plus an additional breakfast bar area with stools where you can also enjoy views of the property's landscape. The master bathroom is spacious and has a beautiful copper deep soak bathtub for relaxing, maybe after an afternoon of skiing at Hunter Mountain, which is just 20 mins away. The house is also located 15 mins from Woodstock and a 10 min. drive to Saugerties Village's great restaurants and charming shops. There is WiFi, Roku streamer for streaming movies through Netflix, DVD player, and wood burning stove. Very convenient for Skiing (Hunter Mtn), Golf (Lazy Swan), HITS Horse Shows, and Tennis (Total Tennis). Nearby Bristol Beach is also great for paddle boarding.
Andy & Jess are NYC residents with a second home in Saugerties, purchased in 2011. Andy is originally from the south of England who has lived in NYC for 15 years now. Jessica is a born and bred New Yorker who grew up in Brooklyn, NY & the Upper East Side.
Andy & Jess purchased this house in 2011
We fell in love with the property at first site, despite it not being finished. It was converted with lots of our love, hard work and attention, and we always look forward to our tranquil stays in such a special space. We love the village and town with all the great local businesses: great restaurants, pubs, old and indie movie theaters, juice bars and vegan ice cream :)
The house is a unique property and very much speaks for itself. It has the privacy and secluded feeling with being just minutes away from so many great restaurants and activities. It serves as the perfect home base for people looking to get away from the city's bustle. We always look forward to sharing our place with guests and hope to have people fall in love with the house and village just as we have.
I booked this house with a group of friends to get out of the city and relax. The Bellwood Barn is an exquisite home that catered to all our needs. It's the perfect place to stay in, play games, cook feasts, and listen to some vinyl. The owners are welcoming and lovely, we are already planning when we can come again.
I absolutely loved the Bellmont Barn. From the moment my friends & I stepped foot inside, we were blown away. The space is massive, giving way to plenty of space to cook, read, relax, play games, play darts, and anything else. The interior was stellar- all the bedrooms are large and comfortable and are beautifully decorated. Jess and Andy were extremely accessible and ensured that all information you'd need for a great weekend was at your fingertips. Would highly recommend!
We were a group of three couples looking to get away for a few nights over the new years holiday. We loved our time at Bellwood Barn. The space is incredible...huge, open, catwalks, reclaimed wood beams, concrete floors, industrial kitchen. It's an old barn on the outside, but the inside is new, warm, and clean. The design is sort of minimalist but still very warm. We loved the heated floors, the wood stove, and the huge lounging area by the fire. There is a selection of vinyl and a sound system that provided a great soundtrack for our stay.
Jess was very easy to work with and responsive to all inquiries.
This is such a fun property! The rooms are comfortable, the grounds lovely and it is very convenient to the HITS horse shows. We really enjoyed our stay!
First off, let me just say that Jess and Andy were so amazing to deal with. Super sweet and responsive via email. When my family and I arrived to spend a few days here over New Years, our jaws dropped. Of course the pictures do the Bellwood Barn justice, but this place is simply spectacular. There was a bottle of bubbly and some local artisanal chocolates that the owners left for us to enjoy. Jess and Andy did an amazing job renovating the barn and turning it into a relaxing respite away from the city. The decor is thoughtful: very clean, minimal and zen-inducing. My dogs adored the radiant heat concrete floors, which were gorgeous. The kitchen was amenable to cooking big family dinners. I have never slept better in my life, the mattress was so comfortable. All in all, I could not have hoped for a more exquisite experience at the Bellwood Barn. So looking forward to heading back during the summer. Thanks so much for everything!
Barn is located 20 minutes from Hunter Mountain and Hudson, 15 minutes from great Woodstock restaurants (Bear Cafe, Cucina), and 10 minutes to Saugerties Village restaurants and cafes (Miss Lucy's Kitchen, Red Onion, Love Bites, The Dutch Ale House, Stella's). Also nearby is great hiking with beautiful views of the Hudson Valley, local antiquing and more...
