Prospect Miners Cabin is a cabin that was brought down from the Rocky National Park in the 1920's. It has been re-decorated but has kept its miners cabin feel. Ceilings area little short and the shower head is low also. If you are over six ft tall, BEWARE. This has been decorated as our 'Ski Lodge'. With old fashioned snow shoes, cross country ski's, and different paraphernalia scattered throughout, this cabin is a 'must see'. Prospect has a full kitchen with a rustic built-in bench,full size refridgerator, gas stove, microwave, crock pot, coffe pot, and all the dishware needed. seperate bedroom with queen size bed, and a family room with electric fireplace. Also included in this cabin Cable, Flat Screen TV, DVD Player, WI-FI, and even a Bath Tub! This is a PET FRIENDLY Unit.

The grounds is equipped with a river rock fire pit. We have a Viking outdoor gas grill available for your use. Multiple decks and best of all, WILDLIFE.

LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION. Great views of mountains all around us and so close to town it is just awesome. We have been looking at Estes for a while now. This property came up for sale, so we took a family vote. With a 16 yr old daughter and 14 yr old son, I thought that I would have a challenge ahead of me with convincing them. Low and behold, 100% = Let's go to Colorado!

This property previously was The Black Dog Inn Bed & Breakfast. The Millers will be living in the main home and renting out the unattached units around the 1 acre rustic property. What makes this cabin unique

Located HIGH above the town of Estes Park, our wooded acre has a commanding view of Lumpy Ridge(a well known rock climbing formation), Mummy Range, and Mt. Olympus. We are only a short 5 minute drive to Rocky Mountain National Park. The footpath in front of the property connects with the scenic Riverwalk and also the 4 mile path around Lake Estes. This property has Luxury accommodations at affordable rates. We can see clear views of Lumpy Ridge, Twin Owls, Mt Olympus, and even Mummy Mountain. We are only 1/2 mile from town. We love to hike and spend time outdoors in the wonders of Nature. There are literally hundreds of hiking and climbing trails minutes from our front door. Longs Peak, Twin Owls, Mummy Mountain, Twin Sisters, Lilly Mountain, etc.

we are only 1 mile from the town and four miles from Rocky Mountain National Park. 1000 feet from the bowling alley and a quarter mile from a great restaurant bar and grill called Cables. we have a massage therapist that will come and perform Massages in house. there are many great things to see in Estes Park including elk, deer, coyotes. Locals LOVE Kind Coffee. It is Kind to your Soul.

Just concluded our fourth stay at The Rustic Acre. Wonderful and relaxing as always. Jason and Joanne are friendly, courteous, and helpful. Cabin is clean and well-maintained. Didn't want to leave. We'll be back!

Cute little cabin

Great location and had everything we needed for a long weekend. The cute little cabin was also very clean. Water pressure in the shower was a little weak but the water was lovely and hot. Owner was also very easy to deal with, I'd definitely recommend this property.

Lovely little cabin perfectly situated in Estes Park

I stayed at the Prospect Miners Cabin at Rustic Acres while I participated in a horse show at the Estes Park Fairgrounds. Rustic Acre was a convenient 90-second drive to the fairgrounds for me, so it was a blissful cut in my commute for the early mornings. Rustic Acre is set right on the road, so if you're looking for a private setting in the woods away from people, it might not be for you.

The actual cabin was lovely and inviting; the bed was comfy, they had plenty of pillows, the couch was comfy and the kitchen had enough supplies for my limited cooking. The only thing that could be replaced in the kitchen were the ice trays as they were pretty cracked so water leaked out and minimal ice was formed.

The hosts are also not kidding about the height of the shower in this cabin - I'm 5'9 and I still had to duck to get under the shower head. I liked it and thought it added to the appeal :)

Finally, my only other suggestion for making this cabin the perfect stay is a chest of drawers in the bedroom. There wasn't a place to put away clothing, so I had to live out of my suitcase for 4 days. While definitely a first world problem, this suggestion is my biggest one for ease of stay.

All in all, I give this cabin 5 out of 5 stars. The hosts, Jason and Joanne, couldn't be more welcoming and friendly - they were always close by when needed for a friendly hello and restaurant suggestions. I look forward to staying again when I'm back in Estes next summer. Thanks for the hospitality, guys!

Sorry about not having a dresser, we have the cubby holes by the bathroom to put clothes away. I will definitely look into one to make it more conveneint and thanks for letting us know about the ice cube trays. Your the first to tell me. So unless someone tells me I don't know to switch it. Great location and comfortable cabin!

We had a great time at Prospect Cabin! Our previous trips to Estes Park had been short so we stayed at the Stanley. Since this trip was longer, we opted to stay somewhere more comfortable and homey, and Prospect Cabin was exactly that. The cabin was clean and provided everything we needed, as well as being within easy walking distance to anywhere we wanted to go in Estes Park for meals, drinks, etc... The owners were on-site and very friendly when we encountered them as they were not (fortunately) over-bearing in any way. The only thing we could possibly complain about was that the cabins are all located within very close proximity to each other and when we were outside anywhere we were in clear view of other cabins on the property. We are very private people (our closest neighbors at home are a mile away), so it was a little bit closer than we would have liked, but it certainly wasn't a problem at all - we just hung out in the cabin a bit more! Other than that minor observation, the cabin was fantastic and we highly recommend it!

Unbelievable Spot in Estes!

I have to start out by saying that the photos don't do it justice! The space is spectacular. You are just minutes away from so many hot spots in Estes Park and plenty of them are within walking distance. The cabin was cozy and perfect. Half the time we stayed there and ate dinner outside on a picnic table outside the front door- the other times we walked to a pub or to a fabulous brewery right across the street. Who is we? My precious pup cargo and myself. The property is more than dog friendly and I can tell you that neither one of us wanted to leave. The hosts are spectacular- greeting you with a cold beer and all of the amenities you might need during your stay. We walked daily to a dog park thanks to their recommendation and explored a unique distillery on the way out of town. I can't say it enough- this pace is perfect. We will be coming back!
