Nelson House Rental Photos and Description

A lovely space with gorgeous views in Uphill Nelson. $60/night.

Enjoy your vacation to the Kootenays by staying at The House on the Hill. The cozy suite, a few minutes drive from downtown Nelson, will provide you with exceptional value for your stay in Nelson. Located in the Uphill area the house is nestled on a corner lot surrounded by older trees and lovely gardens. The home is located in a quiet neighbourhood with plenty of privacy and drive-way parking.

We are one block away from the Rails to Trails, a local walking/biking/nordic ski trail that covers Nelson, or a short drive to Lakeside park or downtown to amazing shops, cafes, and restaurants. We are a 20 minute drive to Whitewater Ski Hill ~ rated some of the best powder in North America, and a 45 minute drive from Ainsworth Hot Springs.

The home is fully furnished and has a kitchen with fridge, coffee machine, toaster oven and hot plate. There is a large flatscreen tv (with movies, no cable) in the living area. Wireless internet access is included. There is one bedroom with a king bed, and a pull out couch that can be used as a single or king sized bed, in the living area. One block from the bus stop and one block from the trails, if you're not into driving, we are very accessible.

Come and enjoy the unique charm that makes this beautiful arts town one of the best in North America. The area surrounding Nelson is a paradise for mountain biking, skiing, hiking, climbing, boating, fishing and golfing. There is no shortage of great restaurants and cafes to get a taste of Nelson. You can also enjoy the many boutique shops, with locally produced goods; or browse the vendors in either of the two farmer's markets held each week (Wednesday and Saturday).

Guestbook comments from the owner

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at 'The House on the Hill'. It was easy to find , just straight up the street from downtown. The large beautifully furnished and well equipped house with a number of individual rooms allowed our large family of adult children, including two grandchildren, to spread out and gain privacy when needed. The large open area kitchen/dining/living room made it easy for us to gather together.

Large windows provide great views of the West Kootenay Valley. The grandkids thoroughly enjoyed the back deck and yard - the trampoline was a real highlight for them.

We will certainly consider staying there again - a perfect spot for a family reunion

Great place, for kids especially!

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay at House on the Hill. Stephanie was a gracious host and the place had a very good vibe.

My kids loved the kids bedroom and all the books and variety of little toys. They also really loved the trampoline and Stellar's jays squawking in the DOuglas fir tree out back.

Excellent location to go to Whitewater for skiing (which was also a really fun hill with kids).

Very helpful host!

  • 5 of 5

We loved the location (we knew it was a few blocks from downtown, but found the walk do-able), the view and the set up of the house (SO much space and indoor wood stove and outdoor fire opportunities). The hostess was also very helpful with offering ideas for hikes, recreation, things to do and restaurants. Thanks so much for a wonderful stay!
