We were married at Memory Mountain on Saturday and we stayed at Hummingbird with our friends (along with the family renting out the other 4 cabins.) The cabin was absolutely beautiful and we enjoyed the eclectic blend of decorations and furniture. The views are amazing and the property is just more then you could ask for for a very quiet place to get away from it all. We spent most nights sitting around the fire pits enjoying and creating life long memories with our family.
We had our wedding here and could not have asked for a more beautiful, peaceful and fun wedding venue. There are dozens of sites for the ceremony. The barn is awesome! It is rustic and luxurious at the same time. We were able to have everyone stay at the cabins for the entire weekend which made for a fun retreat with family and friends. Steve and his family are wonderful and very helpful. We would do it all again a million times!
We had a wonderful visit to Memory Mountain! The property was beautiful, the accommodations were nice, Steve Powell gave an excellent tour of his private barn, and Lobo, the wolf, was a huge hit! We had a very special, joyful, and memorable wedding!
My family consisting of myself, wife, daughter (9) and son (7) stayed at the Hummingbird Lodge July 1-23, 2016. It was a wonderful experience! We live in South Florida and were looking to get away from the hustle and bustle city life brings. My wife was familiar with the area and looked online for cabin rentals. Luckily, she came across Memory Mountain at Wolf Laurel. The cabin was spacious and clean. It was fully stocked with the basic necessities. We utilized all that the cabin and mountain had to offer. We took advantage of our many "cabin days." There were numerous ponds that we fished in almost everyday. Many nights were spent around the fire pit making s'mores. There were many trails, creeks and structures that were explored. Each time we took a day trip, we would look forward to getting "home." My wife did have to work from the cabin and a couple of issues that came up were handled promptly by Steve and his team. It truly felt like a vacation and would highly recommend it to families like ours.
My wife and I joined spent a long weekend at Hummingbird Lodge as her family took over Memory Mountain for a family wedding. The setting is outstanding and each lodge catered incredibly well to our group. The lodge itself is beautifully finished with a large, good quality kitchen (it was comfortably used for cooking for the rehearsal dinner) and the layout over three floors made it easy for 4 separate family groups (2 couples, two sisters and adult daughter and a single) to cohabit over 4 days without any issue. Beds are comfortable, but having travelled for 20 hours, it was a little frustrating to find we were putting our own sheets on the bed... but this is the only complaint I could possibly have. Steve was incredibly friendly and as so many others will comment, the addition of Lobo the wolf walking between the lodges and bonding happily with the family dogs was a unique touch.
the host made us feel so welcome. We had so much fun. The suggestions for activities on the fridge we perfect. Our boys enjoyed fishing the ponds. We had everything we needed and more.
