Villa Sonrisas is a 3 bedrooms, 2 1/2 bath house, with formal dining and living room. Located on 1.5 acres of luxurious greenery, colorful flowers and mature trees visited daily by squirrel monkeys, white faced monkeys, iguanas, toucans and a number of Costa Rica's exotic birds.
The house is well off the main road and a 10 minutes ride to Manuel Antonio's beaches and downtown Quepos.
Villa Sonrisas has a fully equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances including dishwasher and an island with bar height seating. An open concept floor plan and living area with air conditioning and ceiling fans throughout, wireless internet and double height vaulted ceilings. Enter through El Salto private, guarded entrance. Once you arrive, our property manager will greet you and provide home access. All you need to do is make yourself at home in at nature at Villa Sonrisas.
Owners tip: We know vacations are for sleeping in, but monkeys don't agree. They'll come visit in the early mornings, if you hear some tree rattling, your friends have come to visit and they like bananas. *Please make sure doors are shut when feeding the monkeys.
Built in 2011 and designed by well known Costa Rican architect, Ricardo Perez, Villa Sonrisas offers a stress free, quiet and exotic environment; and with its open design lets you enjoy in nature no matter where you are in the house.
Villa Sonrisas was featured in Costa Rican TV magazine 'Habitat Soluciones' as one of the more attractive properties in Manuel Antonio.
Villa Sonrisas is located in the heart of the rainforest and we take pride in being an eco-friendly home. Please help us respect this lush environment by using our recycle bins, turn off water and lights that you're not using and most of all, regard the grounds and gardens as if it were your own.

Beautiful home on a secluded, yet easily accessible property
We saw every type of wildlife Costa Rica has to offer, directly on this property! Sloth the first day, parrots roosted on our balcony almost daily, toucans, monkeys, etc. Perfectly situated at the top of a mountain right between the city of Quepos and Manuel Antonio. It's literally 2-3 miles between one city and the next via a winding, jungle-covered roadway. We spent a ton of time at the marina in Quepos, either fishing, shopping or dining. The restaurants in town were excellent too! Manuel Antonio and all the along the road to Manuel Antonio, there are endless restaurants and several great beach accesses. Andres was a great manager and very helpful finding taxis when we didn't want to drive, a beach where they bring you food and water and get a tent and chairs for you too. He is also great at pointing out animals and when the best times are for seeing them around the villa. Security guarded community with a security system in the house as well. We had no issues with bugs at all...no bites from mosquitos or anything. Didn't see any snakes. The grounds were very well kept, with pool cleanings daily and a house keeper up to 3 times while there. We also had our laundry sent out since the laundry room was locked and only useable by the housekeeping crews. I would highly recommend this place to anyone wanting to stay in the heart of it all, but still wanting privacy.
Thank you for such a lovely review! We are so happy you had a wonderful time at the Villa enjoying the beauty of Manuel Antonio beaches and local restaurants. We are truly blessed to be surrounded by such beautiful nature and wildlife alike. Andres is very passionate about his country and does the best he can to enhance your experience, thank you for letting us know you were happy with his service.
We hope to have you at Villa Sonrisas again the next time you vacation in Costa Rica.
I'm so glad that I booked this property. It's close to all the restaurants, marina and Manuel Antonio National Park (7-10 mins in taxi).
I felt very safe on the property as it's gated, has security guard around the clock and house is equipped with an alarm.
House was clean and spacious. There's everything in the kitchen to make your own meals.
The property grounds are clean to along with the pool. There's a ton of wild life in the backyard which we loved as we spent alot of time in the pool.
The property manager took his time to explain everything. He was very helpful and always a phone call away if needed anything.
Personally I would recommend the house owner to install screens in the balcony doors for the rooms. (personal preference)
Perfect family getaway
This home couldn't have been more perfect for our family of four adults and three young children. Maggie was very helpful in helping to prepare us for our arrival and also arranged a chef so we didn't have to worry about dinner our first night there. Andres met us at the house, showed us around and arranged a tour guide for Manuel Antonio National Park and a mangrove tour. We tried our best not to plan too many things so we could enjoy all the property had to offer.
The swimming pool was professionally maintained during our stay and always seemed to be sparkling. The animals surrounding the home did not disappoint. We had monkeys (including a baby monkey on his mother's back!) greet us the moment we pulled into the driveway. We fed iguanas flower petals, were entertained by a toucan, and witnessed two macaws fly right over the pool.
The house is well equipped and very comfortable. We appreciated the recycling bins and attention paid to the environment. The sliding glass doors invite nature in and waking with our early rising children didn't seem so bad at Villa Sonrisas. Best of all we felt like we were living in a jungle and would enjoy sitting on the porch and having a cocktail while marveling at the lush environment all around us and trying to see what amazing animal would wander into sight next. It was an amazing experience.
Thank you, Maggie, for sharing your home and Andres for the hospitality!
Unbelievable house & grounds!!
This has been an amazing 5 days in Paradise!!
Complete with White faced Monkeys, Spider Monkeys & Macaws coming onto patio & landing on handrail around the beautiful deck!! The home is exactly as it appears in the add - Everything you need for your stay in Costa Rica! We have been to Mexico, Dominican, numerous places in the US & this by far exceeded our expectations.
The Property Manager Andres was also full of information & super helpful. He recommended several GREAT restaurants & things to do - We tried many of them & they were all super!! Give this Villa a try!
Painless booking & close to the Marina in Quepos
Nice property! Andres is attentive with our welcome, recommendations and communication. Stocked well sans groceries, which are 5 mins away. Maggie (owner) did a nice job with the instructions, wifi setup, decor, landscape, and having A/Cs in each room. Love the pool, monkeys, birds and serenity so close to town. Taxis didn't have a problem finding the property and we felt safe with gates, alarm, doors and guards entering the neighborhood. Would def. stay here again.
Make the Living area upstairs more comfortable, inviting. It is smaller than expected, although the balcony is great. A TV upstairs would be nice,. Music player docking station to a stereo or speaker with Iphone etc. e.g. a Sonos Play would be ideal. WARMER lights around the home are needed.
Beautiful and relaxing space
Pros: house was beautiful and in a great location. Everyday our patio was visited with monkeys, tucans, eagles and more. The pool was amazing and warm, you could stay in the pool the whole day while appreciating nature.
Cons: they never clean the pool. The cleaning lady did not change/wash the towels or sheets.
Andres was a really nice and helpful guy but I recommend for you to book your tours by yourself, do not book through him as prices will be 4 times more expensive. Do your research and google places you want to go go before booking. You will save a lot of money.
Secluded, yet located some 10 minutes away from Manuel Antonio Beaches and national Park, Villa Sonrisas offers proximity to restaurants, the town of Quepos and many activities. Not to be missed is Manuel Antonio National Park, arguably the country's most beautiful and protected coastal area. The National Park contains pristine white sand beaches, hidden coves ideal for snorkeling, trails through tropical forest filled with wild life and the landmark Punta Catedral, towering high above the deep blue pacific Ocean.
