Escape to Lorenzo Modern: Your Private Retreat in the Desert! Lorenzo Modern was built in 1949 and is one of the original Trousdale homes. These homes represent the start of the Modernist movement that would come to define Palm Springs.
Lorenzo Modern has two master suites for a total 4 bedrooms and 3 baths. This home has been painstakingly remodeled in the latest modern style. Eco Modernism. Palm Springs has always been at the forefront of the Modernist movement in the United States. Lorenzo Modern continues that trend. Peruse the latest Dwell magazine, and you'll see the elements that define this latest iteration of Modernism. Clean mid-century lines blend with the warmth of reclaimed lumber and repurposed materials. Bright vibrant colors - turquoise, orange and lime - serve as a counterpoint to these natural and vintage elements.
Lorenzo Modern has one of the largest backyards of any rental home in its class. This backyard provides the vacationer many options to enjoy the 350 days of sunshine that make Palm Springs world famous, all while enjoying one of the best views possible of the San Jacinto mountain range. Soak in the elevated spa that waterfalls into the salt water pool. Float around on one of the luxury floats. Relax in the double-chaise lounge or on one of the comfortable sofa and chairs under the covered lanai. Sun your front or back on one of the new chaise lounges by the pool. BBQ for family and friends at the built-in grill and then enjoy dinner at the outdoor dining table.
Inside the options are also limitless. Watch TV with the family in the main living room, with a 55 inch HDTV and DIrecTV. Relax in one of the four bedrooms (All of which have TV and DVR). Enjoy a rain shower in one of the newly remodeled bathrooms. Cook like a gourmet chef in the brand new kitchen, complete with high end KitchenAid appliances, quartz countertops and everything else you'll need. Dine in our family sized dining room at the reclaimed lumber table under the one of kind atomic chandelier. Use your computer or iPad anywhere in the house or outside by connecting to our Wifi.
Came to celebrate my 60th with good friends in PS and couldn't of picked a better venue. Spacious house with a killer view of the mountains. Hosts are great & are great coominicators. Would stay again & highly recommend!!
The house was everything that the pictures promised! We have never stayed in a house with such comfortable beds and luxurious amenities like the pool, hot tub, outdoor grill, outdoor seating, laundry, fireplace, etc. Now I'm not sure we will ever be able to settle for less. The chefs in our family loved the kitchen and didn't lack a single cooking utensil or dish. The location was close enough to downtown Palm Springs to make going out for a meal easy the few times we ventured out and there were several choices of grocery stores within a few blocks. The property was beautifully maintained and felt very private despite neighbors on either side. Our only complaint, and it was a very minor one, was that the hot water took quite a while to get to dishwashing temperature. Definitely a first world problem and not anything that dampened our enjoyment!!!
We were really happy with our stay. To put this in context, we've been coming to Palm Springs every year for the last 7 years, and renting a house on VRBO. Each experience is a bit unique, but I can honestly say we were really pleased with the house. Brian was easy to deal with and responsive, and LJ met me on site on time and as planned and showed us around. The house is super well stocked...for example, some places you rent, will only have enough settings for 6 or 8 people....there are tons of plates, bowls, cutlery, etc. And the cooking supplies (pots, pans, graters, bowls, peelers, etc)...again, most places fall short on this....this house does not disappoint. It is so well supplied, which was a huge help to our family of 5.
I think the biggest single fault of VRBO listings is that they do not generally show floorplans. They should, and for us, it's the single most important consideration. The guys were really helpful in explaining this, and the video also helps. One wing has a bedroom where our baby could sleep / nap quietly during the day, and the other wing has the master and 2 other bedrooms where we slept and our boys slept. It worked so well, a benefit of a great floor plan and a big footprint.
The yard is huge, and the backyard southern exposure should not be under-estimated. Especially in the fall when the days are shorter, it was nice to have full sun exposure in the backyard to enjoy. We spent 4-5 hours in the pool every day, and then bocci ball and lawn darts, and played baseball in the back. The pool is a very generous size and well maintained. The hot tub works great, and the salt water is a big plus for kids vs. chlorine. The big yard is something special...too many house rentals have small yards, this one does not!
Everything in the house worked. We've had trips where there were issues and the property manager was helpful in resolving it....but in this case, there were no issues. The pool controls were simple to use, appliances are brand new, wifi and internet was perfect...which all leads to a nice relaxing holiday.
If there are any negatives, or areas for improvement (and I'm being picky...first world problems)...I would update 2 things:
(1) . better lighting over the BBQ in the backyard, install a light on the palm tree as it was dark at 4:30pm and makes cooking more difficult
(2) . install an outdoor gas fireplace for ambience or roasting marshmallows.
We will be back. - Jon (Vancouver)
This house was awesome! It was extremely well-appointed and so comfortable. We loved staying in it for both its beauty and its function, and the location was also fantastic. We also loved spending time outside in the pool and relaxing on the patio. Can't wait to return!
This home is amazing!!! Beautiful inside and out. Fully equipped with everything you can imagine -- fire pit, grill, pool floats, hot tub, hairdryers, shampoo and conditioner in showers, enery type of kitchen appliance, glasses, etc. Reall cannot say enough!
I stayed here with a group of 5 friends and had the best, most relaxing weekend. We just chilled poolside, didn't even leave the property.
LJ was super responsive and helpful in getting us set up and situated for the long weekend.
Thank you Brian and LJ! Can't wait to come back and stay again!
We looked at many houses to book for our winter vacation.
The owners were responsive and helpful.
The house is exactly like the photos.
Well appionted and really well maintained
