TOT#6053. Escape to Lorenzo Modern: Your Private Retreat in the Desert! Lorenzo Modern was built in 1949 and is one of the original Trousdale homes. These homes represent the start of the Modernist movement that would come to define Palm Springs.

Lorenzo Modern has two master suites for a total 4 bedrooms and 3 baths. This home has been painstakingly remodeled in the latest modern style. Eco Modernism. Palm Springs has always been at the forefront of the Modernist movement in the United States. Lorenzo Modern continues that trend. Peruse the latest Dwell magazine, and you'll see the elements that define this latest iteration of Modernism. Clean mid-century lines blend with the warmth of reclaimed lumber and repurposed materials. Bright vibrant colors - turquoise, orange and lime - serve as a counterpoint to these natural and vintage elements.

Lorenzo Modern has one of the largest backyards of any rental home in its class. This backyard provides the vacationer many options to enjoy the 350 days of sunshine that make Palm Springs world famous, all while enjoying one of the best views possible of the San Jacinto mountain range. Soak in the elevated spa that waterfalls into the salt water pool. Float around on one of the luxury floats. Relax in the double-chaise lounge or on one of the comfortable sofa and chairs under the covered lanai. Sun your front or back on one of the new chaise lounges by the pool. BBQ for family and friends at the built-in grill and then enjoy dinner at the outdoor dining table.

Inside the options are also limitless. Watch TV with the family in the main living room, with a 55 inch HDTV and DIrecTV. Relax in one of the four bedrooms (All of which have TV and DVR). Enjoy a rain shower in one of the newly remodeled bathrooms. Cook like a gourmet chef in the brand new kitchen, complete with high end KitchenAid appliances, quartz countertops and everything else you'll need. Dine in our family sized dining room at the reclaimed lumber table under the one of kind atomic chandelier. Use your computer or iPad anywhere in the house or outside by connecting to our Wifi.

Great house, not so great of greeting.

  • 2 of 5

We loved the house, couldn't complain about one thing about the property other than being scared to even speak too loudly outside and our unprofessional check-in upon arrival.

When we arrived we were made to feel incredibly unwelcome, and felt like we were inconveniencing the gentleman who showed us the house. He took multiple calls while showing us the house, without so much as an 'excuse me.' Additionally, he spoke so disrespectfully to the people on the phone, that we felt uncomfortable even standing there. He complained about Coachella guests and how they broke everything before our stay, which made me feel like his frustrations being directed at myself and my friends were incredibly displaced. He was rude, curt and unwelcoming. To guests who have been traveling all day to get there, it really took the wind out of our sails getting there and being greeted so poorly. It took all of us so long to relax after he left, and were scared to even hang out outside since he was so intense about the sound ordinance (it was Noon on a Thursday). I know it is a Palm Springs issue, not the owners, but he told us we could even get in trouble for talking too loudly. Made it incredibly hard to 'relax' on vacation, putting the fear of God in us about he ordinance, on top of his general attitude.

It upset us when the neighbors were laughing and playing outside, as we had been wanting to do, but we had been avoiding making any noise what-so-ever, due to his intensity; which I'm now assuming was yet another result of poor judgement on allowing previous guests from Coachella to destroy the house (he talked about this the ENTIRE time).

To the owners, thank you for the house, but we felt like my uncle was 'allowing' me to stay, rather than being a paying guest. Not cool for my 30th birthday relaxing weekend that got usurped by his terrible attitude. Would not stay here again.

Could not have been better!

  • 5 of 5

This house is everything you want in a vacation rental. The house is beautifully decorated and very functional. The kitchen is huge and has everything you could possibly need!! I love to cook and always travel with my own knives as I am often disappointed with the standard "Costco knife block" and dull knives in most vacation rentals. While I will admit that I still preferred my trusty travel companion, this kitchen's knives were more than sufficient! A happy sign of things to come. Induction stove, huge fridge, ice maker, blender, mixer, food processor, pots, pans, serving ware, glassware for days...GREAT KITCHEN!And the house layout was fantastic. With 2 young families (8 in total) staying we really appreciated the wall of glass along the backside of the house that makes minding 4 kids under 6 easy. Easy viewing of the whole backyard from the dining area, kitchen and living room. Also the huge patio area was fantastic for relaxing in the sun or shade on super comfy chairs and lounges. The salt water pool and hot tub were great. Easy on the eyes and the kids claim it to be the "greatest pool ever". The parents also appreciated the pool area and especially the two clumps of palms which gave some shade at all times of the day - we are from British Columbia and by March our skin hasn't seen sun in many months and needs a bit of shade as a break from the fantastic Palm Springs heat!

All in all I have nothing but accolades for the house and the owners. It was by far our most relaxing spring break holiday in years - no trying to reserve chairs by the pool at some godawful hour of the morning, no loading up the car with toys, towels, coolers and such to trek off the the beach only to have to unload it all and load it all countless times, and not a bit of rain to be seen...we spent our last night poolside, lamenting our trip home, and trying to plan our next trip back!

Fantastic all round!

  • 5 of 5

We had 5 weeks in this house. It felt like home.

The house is on a great street, quiet and a good neighborhood.

Close to everything you want to see in PS

Once in the house it is completely private and the pool area is awesome with Jacuzzi, BBQ & fantastic mountain views.

The house was really well equipped great kitchen , Heating, AC , washer drier .....

All the bedrooms were great with comfortable beds , nice linens.

They welcomed our well behaved dog and the fully fenced garden was perfect.

The LJ & Brian were great hosts, friendly and prompt with answers if we had a question.

We would be happy to recommend the house & go back anytime

Great Palm Springs Oasis

  • 5 of 5

This property did not disappoint! The back yard has complete privacy and is huge. Plenty of room to run around, play frisbee and lawn games and feel like you are truly away on vacation while enjoying the desert mountain views. The linens and towels were 5 star hotel quality. The neighborhood is very quiet and within walking distance to the grocery store and several restaurants. We heated up the pool in January and enjoyed both the spa and pool every day. As long as its sunny outside, it's worth it! We are looking forward to returning with our family.

Spectacular house that worked well for our family & visiting friends

  • 5 of 5

The house was everything that the pictures promised! We have never stayed in a house with such comfortable beds and luxurious amenities like the pool, hot tub, outdoor grill, outdoor seating, laundry, fireplace, etc. Now I'm not sure we will ever be able to settle for less. The chefs in our family loved the kitchen and didn't lack a single cooking utensil or dish. The location was close enough to downtown Palm Springs to make going out for a meal easy the few times we ventured out and there were several choices of grocery stores within a few blocks. The property was beautifully maintained and felt very private despite neighbors on either side. Our only complaint, and it was a very minor one, was that the hot water took quite a while to get to dishwashing temperature. Definitely a first world problem and not anything that dampened our enjoyment!!!
