This Spanish Mission style home reflects timeless architecture, abundant natural beauty combined with arched entries, handcrafted front door, Meyda Tiffany chandeliers, guest suite on second level, stair steps crafted from vintage church pews, 2 fireplaces, grand staircase and courtyards with flagstone patios, hand forged gates and extensive rock landscaping.
This home won an award for the Parade of Homes from the Sangre de Cristo Homebuilders Assoc. in 2012. It has also been featured in the Sangre de Cristo Chronicle's Land & Home magazine, summer of 2013.
There are 6+ bedrooms. The master has a queen bed, and french doors that open out onto a private courtyard with outdoor fireplace and hot tub. Master bath has a tile shower, jetted bath tub and double vanity. There is a second bedroom on the main floor with a queen bed. There are three bedrooms upstairs, all queen beds; one bedroom with additional twin bed. Two bedrooms share a bath and the other bedroom has a private bath. The sixth bedroom (4 queen bed bunk room) is the guest suite above the garage, has a private staircase off the kitchen. Guest suite has a living area with foosball table, tv, and fireplace.
Open great room with vaulted ceilings and a hand-carved fireplace in the great room.
Separate from the home there is a Casita in the backyard that has a wood-burning Norwegian stove and bunk beds, great for the kids. Our children have had many slumber parties with cousins and friends in the casita. There is three twin bunkbeds. There is no electricity or running water in the casita.
Heated two car garage.
Radiant in-floor heat.
Kitchen has 6 burner stove with griddle. Great kitchen for cooking for the whole family.
We own Mammoth Construction Co., and have been a general contractor in Angel Fire for over 16 years. We also own a log home company, Mammoth Mill Co. in Eagle Nest, NM. We have built several custom homes in the Angel Fire area. We love Angel Fire, this is where we have raised our kids and also where we plan to retire someday
Jennifer purchased this house in 2006
We custom built this home in 2006, we chose the location of this home because of the views and it's a quiet neighborhood. Our home is very unique and because we built this home for ourselves it has many upgrades.
Love the location, close to Monte Verde Lake, close to ski mountain, golf, and country club. A short walk up the road you can get to greenbelts which are great for hiking and snowshoeing.
The house was beautiful and had enough room for all 3 families. However, when we got there, there was a very strong gas smell in one of the bedrooms and couldn't be used. Only 2 of our 16 person group were able to have hot showers the first night. The gas smell for stronger through that night. The propane had run out and even though it was fixed on the second day, the pipes were having to catch up with the lack of heat so we had to wait long stretches between showers. I asked the owner for compensation but she wouldn't refund any of our stay. She offered another free night but when you have to work and get back to normal life, an extra free night doesn't do us any good. She also offered us a free night's stay next year...but we do not know our party number or if we will even ski next year. A promise of a free night--later--does nothing for the bad experience we had now. As the owner of the property, she should have compensated us that weekend. Instead, she said she couldn't. I don't believe that she "couldn't" refund or compensate. She was nice enough, but didn't make the extra effort to ensure a good report.
On other notes, there were no curtains in the bedrooms--only lacy sheers. The lighting was terrible. The house was very dark. The toilet seat upstairs was broken and we had to tape it together for use. We had to call to get the driveway plowed in order to get to the house. They made no effort to foresee that we wouldn't be able to get into the house after it snowed 8"!! The game room heater was not on for us when we arrived. After trying to set the temp warmer, we looked to see if it was even turned on and it wasn't. It was the dead of winter and the heat was turned off. Truly, compensation for the lack of hot water for 24+ hours was warranted. When one has a bad experience, they don't return to it. We won't use this home again. We love going to Angelfire but this rental experience was really bad.
We had a wonderful time at this beautiful house. The owners were always just a phone call away and very helpful. There is so much room that no one felt crowded. The wildlife outside every window was awesome to watch on a snowy day. I would recommend this house to anyone looking for the perfect family or entertaining house.
This house is amazing. Went with a group of friends and we all had a great time. The owner is very nice and always there when you need something. He comes everyday to make sure everything is ok and very friendly when you run into him at the grocery store or even while skiing like we did. Will def. love to stay here again.
This beautiful home was exactly what we expected from the reviews and photos. We we're a large group of 20, and we never felt over crowded, if anything, it felt cozy and homey. The home was so organized and well furnished, the kitchen was stocked up and there wasn't any clutter. We never had any problems with heat, plumbing etc. And of course, most important thing of all, their Wi-Fi was fast!! All 20 of us plus an Xbox One were connected, never any lagging. It was perfect. We are so thankful for Jennifer and her husband, they we're so patient and kind with us. Her husband went out of his way to help us with our luggage since we couldn't get our huge van(not a 4 wheel drive) up the muddy drive way. He was always checking up on us, we bumped into him a few times in town and always answered all our questions. We were so sad to go, we made beautiful memories in this home. Thank you so much!! We can't wait to come back!!
My friends and I recently stayed over super bowl weekend for 4 nights - it was 17 of us total, ALL grown adults and there was plenty of sleeping room.
The house was in great condition when we arrived - you could easily call or txt if you had any questions, they had someone come out daily to bring firewood and he was super nice and eager to answer questions on cool sledding spots to go to.
It's super close and easy to drive to the angel fire resort and grocery stores. We will definitely stay here again when we come back next year!
We recently stayed here with 3 families, and it was wonderful. The home is gorgeous and have 5 bedrooms in the main home that were well accommodating. The Guest Suite is a little different than the pictures and has 4 queen (or full) size beds and a TV. It turned out to be the perfect kids area. All 6 children slept up there and basically had a 5 night slumber party--how fun!
The home is beautiful and while 2 of our vehicles did not have 4 wheel drive, they did just fine. it is situated with beautiful views and was about a quick 10 minute drive from the ski area. We got about 18 inches of snow over our stay there, and 2 of the vehicles were happy they had chains.
Jennifer and Eric were great! We didn't read the arrival information and made MUCH better time this year, arriving about 2 hours before check-in. Jennifer was kind enough to run down and give us keys early. We needed assistance on the first night with hot water, and within about a half hour, Eric came up to check the boiler and had us back to business. We've learned through our years of renting on VRBO, it's CRUCIAL to have someone you can reach who is RESPONSIVE. They were just that. They even let us ship an Amazon item to their office for pick up that week. THANK YOU!
This was our sixth year to ski Angel Fire. We love the mountain, and found a house we love too! We will be back!
