What makes this condo unique

The location of this unit is so ideal. It allows one to ditch the car and just walk to the best of St. Paul - Grand Ave and it's fun shops, restaurants, and bars. Or head down Summit Ave and gawk at hundreds of some of the most amazing architectural homes in the US. Also right in the neighborhood is the Cathedral of St. Paul; something simply astonishing to see. Just a bit further but still walkable is the Capitol, another amazing architectural feat. For a more livelier walk you can head downtown and take in more restaurants, theatres, and possibly a concert at the Excel Center. It truly is the epicenter of fun!

Excellent property

  • 5 of 5

The visit included our adult daughter and my husband and I. We were in St. Paul for a wedding and the location was perfect - one block from a family member and very close to the wedding on Summit Ave. The three of us were very comfortable. The property was well appointed and very clean. Great walking distance to shopping on Grand Avenue. Parking was never a problem. We would definitely stay there again.

Beautiful, comfortable, ideally located apartment

  • 5 of 5

We spent almost a month at this property and it perfectly suited our needs. It is well situated right off Grand Ave. so access to shopping and restaurants is an easy and pleasant walk yet it is still a quiet retreat in a lovely neighborhood. The apartment is beautifully decorated with a great floor plan, easy flow that felt well big enough for two adults and two kids. We enjoyed the front porch daily and though other folks were on site there was never a sense of intrusion or any overlap.

Stacey was so responsive and professional, responding to any questions immediately as well as being very organized and clear about check-in/out procedures. We couldn't have been more pleased with our choice and recommend it highly to anyone considering a visit to St. Paul.

Location, location, location!

  • 4 of 5

We stayed at both this and one of the upstairs apartments for 3 nights. I posted the same review for the other apartment, as the information is the same!

This is a wonderful little retreat in an awesome neighborhood in St. Paul!. The setup was great and the apartments have been beautifully redone. We didn't want for much at all, and if we did, the shops are literally two blocks away. We got take-out twice and didn't do any cooking, though the covered grill in back may have been available to use. Highly recommend Punch Pizza...wouldn't go back to Brasa.

The kitchen had a few condiments in the fridge, coffee (THANK YOU!), and ice already in the freezer. We didn't look for cooking utensils and things like that so I can't comment much. We purchased toilet paper as there wasn't a full roll when we arrived and couldn't find more. No biggie.

The notes in previous reviews about air conditioning are correct - we were quite warm during our stay. To be fair, we didn't bring this up to Stacey, who checked in with us a couple of times via text (super friendly!!), because it really isn't something that can be fixed without having put in central air during the remodel. We knew ahead that there was only window air in the bedroom, so we each brought a fan and that helped a bit.

We have 4 small dogs between us, and the apartments were great for them. Lots of places to walk them in the neighborhood. Note there were a lot of dogs being walked off-leash, so if that's a worry, just be careful. Wasn't for us. The only disappointment was finding out there was a 3rd apartment in the house with a tenant living there - we chose this place believing we had the whole home to ourselves, so barking dogs wouldn't be an issue, but instead worried about the disruption constantly. Not a big deal, but something to be noted if you're looking for a place where no one else is living. Had we known before we arrived, we'd have kept looking. The one evening we needed to be gone and I knew they were barking, I texted Stacey and she assured me the tenant was working, so no problem.

We were able to sit on the porch with the pups...such an awesome area. People everywhere and everyone friendly. It's on a one-way street so not a ton of traffic - lots of bikes and walkers for sure.

Overall, a wonderful stay. Stacey had great communication and the apartments were just what we needed! Clean, well appointed, perfect location!

Owner's Response: Thanks for the review Natalie. Central air is a rarity in this historic district with homes over 110 years old so window AC units are the rule rather than exception here. I really wish you would've told me you were warm when I checked in on you. I have an extra portable AC unit that is shared with a few other units and often it's available to set up when and where needed for a hot spell. Being a dog lover/owner I completely understand our desire to bring our furry friends with when we travel. Excessive barking is never wanted even if there isn't another tenant (very quiet at that) out of respect to my close neighbors. If barking was a concern I wish I would have known up front and we could have found a solution satisfactory to everyone. Thanks again for the feedback as it is always very helpful :)

A great place to sstay

  • 5 of 5

This home was a wonderful place to stay. It had more than enough space for our needs and our company. It was furnished well and we were very comfortable. Loved it's location, close to Grand Ave. There is plenty of shopping and places to eat nearby. Sitting on a corner we could sit on the front porch and watch the world go by. We really like St Paul. I would highly recommend this property to anyone.

A charming and cozy home

  • 5 of 5

My sister and I met in the Twin Cities for a girls week-end, and were lucky enough to find this great property. It is surrounded by a very cool neighborhood with great restaurants and shopping-all within walking distance. The place was clean, cozy and nicely decorated. We both felt so at home and spent our evenings sitting on the cute front porch. The kitchen was well stocked-everything was great. We now have our go to place in the twin cities! Thanks Stacey!!

The Summit Hill area is one of the nation's premier collections/concentration of turn of the century mansions and architecture. Less than one block away on Summit Ave is F. Scott Fitzgerald's brownstone he lived in during several of his writing years. James J. Hill mansion is a must see and is walking distance from VRBO unit. Over 14,000 sqft. of splendid finishes and design. Nina's coffee house is a nice walk for a cup of local coffee and people watching; it is in another magnificent building that won't disappoint.
