New 1 Br, 1 Ba 1100 Sf Contemporary Santa Fe Styled Home With Incredible Views.

Casa Miguel is a recently completed custom built home located in the desirable Historic Eastside of Santa Fe. The house sits on a hill providing some of the very best views that Santa Fe has to offer of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, Sun and Moon Mountains and off to the west for ultimate sunsets. It is only a 10 minute walk to the Plaza and is a ¼ mile to the famed Arts & Crafts Canyon Road.

Casa Miguel is filled with custom made furniture (built by the owner) and displays original oil paintings on its diamond finished plaster walls that exceed 11’ in height. This beautifully appointed one private bedroom, one luxury bath home is 1100 square feet with excellent natural light throughout the day. The floor plan is open concept allowing for a gracious flow and easy living. The kitchen is a cook’s delight with high-end appliances, thoughtfully designed cabinetry, and granite counter tops throughout.

From the over-sized French doors you can step out onto the charming flagstone patio. There is a rose garden and the yard is enclosed by lilac bushes that surround the perimeter. This is a lovely spot to watch the sun rise or set, or simply take in the clean mountain air and views.

The owners, Michael Schriber and Christina Alfieri live next door and can be as helpful as you like in suggesting day trips and things to see and do in Santa Fe. They know the area exceptionally well, have a great love for the outdoors, especially mountain biking, and also own and operate a boutique travel business sending guests to Africa. With this combined knowledge and expertise Mike and Christina can add an unparalleled personal touch to your stay.

About christina alfieri

Michael Schriber and Christina Alfieri are the owners of Casa Miguel. Michael, originally from Dayton, OH moved to Santa Fe in 1970. He is a designer/builder and metal fabricator. He designed and built Casa Miguel and also custom built many of the unique features of the property. Mike is an avid mountain biker and has been riding the Santa Fe trails for over three decades. He is happy to share his knowledge of the trails here in Santa Fe - undoubtedly some of the best mountain biking in the country!

Christina, moved to Santa Fe in 1998 from New York. She owns and operates Africa Calls, Ltd. - a small boutique travel company specializing in custom designed safaris to Southern and East Africa. Africa Calls' success is due namely to their incredible attention to detail and ability to perfectly match the traveler to the place.

With many years of customized travel planning and an in-depth knowledge of Santa Fe and the southwest, together Michael and Christina can help to create the perfect New Mexican getaway.

What makes this house unique

Casa Miguel is a newly built, custom home (completed in 2013) with a HERS rating of 64, exceeding all standards for a green home including indoor air quality. The house is a soft contemporary. It has radiant heated colored concrete floors, wood ceilings with vigas and overhead fans, oversized French doors, hand plastered diamond finished walls, and a beautifully appointed kitchen with high end appliances.

The owner, Michael has custom built a number of the pieces of furniture. The house is relaxed and comfortable, yet clean and simple.

Casa Miguel fit our needs to a T...

We spent 10 days in October 2016 at Christina and Michael's casa. It was clean, comfortable, quiet and well-equipped. It is open and light-filled and has a sunny patio facing the mountains. We liked having a full-size washer and dryer and a kitchen with all the necessary dishes, appliances, equipment and gadgets. It was warm enough so we didn't have to use the heating system and the two ceiling fans were all that was needed in the afternoons and at night. The bed and linens were very comfortable and the bathroom towels were of nice quality and quantity. The location is close to downtown and it's an easy walk to the plaza. We enjoyed spectacular weather and were able to hike every day soaking up a lot of sun, sky and green chile! The street to the casa (more like an alley which seems to be the norm in SF) is narrow and a little cluttered, however, that is forgotten once you arrive. We highly recommend Casa Miguel and hope to stay with Christina and Michael again. Thank you for your hospitality! Mary & Greg

Vacation Perfection

This is an absolutely beautiful home with all the amenities you would want or need. Very neat & clean which is a must for our standards. Nicely decorated with the southwestern theme. The home is a great location for the total Santa Fe experience. The owners were more than gracious & wonderful to deal with. We will definitely be back when their calendar & ours permit.

Wonderful stay at Casa Miguel!

Wonderful accommodations at Casa Miguel. We were very happy to relax in this beautiful house after touring about Santa Fe and taking in all that it offers.

Love the location of this property to downtown, easy access to delightful restaurants, shopping, historical sights, museums and marvelous National parks.

The house was well equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. We cooked our breakfast every morning in the lovely kitchen after gathering up some great veggies from the Saturday market. It was nice to enjoy the peaceful beauty of the morning from the patio and take in that Santa Fe sky. We look forward to returning someday soon,

Terrific space & great location

Christina's house is in a great location and easily walkable (less than 10 mins) to the famed Canyon Road, even in the snow! It's a beautifully maintained, well crafted and designed 'adboe' home. Modern, warm, tasteful, very clean and high quality furnishings, linens etc. Very quiet. Parking space right outside. Very convenient. It feels private and tucked away....few passers by as the road is a cul de sac. All windows and doors have quality blinds for more privacy if desired. A really comfortable space to live in, very easy to feel at home right away. Radiant floor heating in main room and bedroom keeps the house very warm. Beautiful view to the mountains and can sit inside or out and watch the changing light in the skies. Exceptionally clean with many provisions - linen cupboard with towels etc. Great walk in wardrobe space off bedroom with plenty hanging and drawer space helps keep luggage etc out of bedroom and main living space. All amenities provided. Terrific and swift communication from Christina. She is very personable and friendly, very trustworthy. Gave us some great tips on Santa Fe. We were able to partake in the annual tradition of the Farolita walk on Christmas Eve - a really special experience. Santa Fe at Christmas is a very special place to be. 10 min walk to Pilates, or great little place called Travel Bug - combo of cafe and amazing travel books, maps etc. Or a quick drive into downtown. And great access to the extraordinary outdoors!
