About John Bridenstine

Both my wife & I were born and raised in Florida. After living in Miami for 20 years and Saint Petersburg for 10 we now live in Dade City about an hour east of Hudson Beach. My wife runs our Veterinary practice and I am an Engineer working for a large building products company. We have an 20 year old son and 10-year old twins!

John Bridenstine purchased this house in 2013

Why John Bridenstine chose Hudson

We had been planning to buy a waterfront vacation home in the lower keys form many years since we vacation there every year. When we were finally able to purchase one we realized it was to far to maintain & enjoy regularly so we found the next best area for us.

Enjoy canal life ,just a quick paddle to the gulf

  • 5 of 5

We had a positive experience in this canal home.We found it well appointed with furniture and decor. The kitchen is not high end but adequate and well equipped .The beds were comfortable and it was quiet near the end of a cul de sac .The drive into the neighborhood is mixed with old trailers and higher end homes but we felt completely safe.Highway 19 was the only real negative to our stay. We had our dog and she was very happy here there is a fenced yard.We enjoyed the kayaks and bikes included. The fishing poles there all had issues so bring your own rod,we did catch a fish though . bird life was fun to watch. Its close to Tarpon Springs and Weeki Wachi but a long drive to St Pete area 1 1/2 hour . We only had 2 people but definitely plenty of room for 6 . I would recommend this property the owner is responsive and accommodating ,just wish we could have had better weather.

Excellent place to stay for family, couples, fishing buddies or girls/guys weekend getaway.

  • 5 of 5

We decided to spend the Thanksgiving weekend doing something different. We arrived two days prior to Thanksgiving and we were very impressed by the décor of the interior of the house with beach themed decorations throughout the entire house. The kitchen was completely equipped with everything needed for our stay. All three bedrooms have very comfortable beds, much better than most of 3 stars and even some of the 4 stars hotels. In addition to the living room there is a very spacious family room and a large dining room. Everything was very clean. We used 3 of the four bicycles available at the house to check out the neighborhood. We rode the bikes to Hudson beach. It's very small but for us it was just right, with beautiful sunsets. The house comes with a dock and with two Kayaks (a three seater and one with a single seat). We used the kayaks three days in a row to paddle our way into the flats of the gulf. There are some fishing poles available but we didn't get to use them. Satellite TV and WI-FI kept the kids busy while at the house. For the price we paid you can’t go wrong! It is worth it.

We drove to Weeki Wachee park to take our grand kids to see the mermaid show and also to Fred Howard Park (45 min away). This is a must see State Park with lots to do and great reviews.

The house is located near Walmart and K-Mart and near all of the franchise restaurants that you would normally see at your home town. There is plenty to do for all ages without having to drive to the theme parks in Orlando or Tampa.

We will never forget our stay in Hudson. Mr Bridestine did a wonderful job at making sure that everything was taken care off and the process from making the initial inquiry through VRBO, communicating via e-mail, (he was available thru cell if needed) payment, check-in and check-out went flawlessly.

Can’t wait to do it again and we can’t stop talking about it. I definitely recommend it for anyone; Couples, small retreat for a ladies weekend out , or for guys too and for a large family, including your pets.

great peaceful place

  • 5 of 5

We had to book a rental to go house hunting. This was a last minute decision and John was so accommodating. He does hassle free rentals. The place was great. We loved being on the canal and saw so much wildlife. The birds were fascinating. We were busy settling on the house and doing so many details but this was our peaceful retreat. The kitchen is well stocked. The beds are comfortable and bathrooms were well stocked with many towels. Sitting outside and just relaxing was our favorite activity after signing papers etc. We walked the street and met friendly neighbors. Our dog, Pebbles, loved to chase the little skinks running over. We did not have time for many side trips but saw that Hudson Beach was peaceful during the week and loved Tarpon Springs. We ate at Rusty Bellies and it was really good food. There are other nice restaurants there too. We ate at Central Park Restaurant on SR 54 and got a meal so big, I was eating the leftovers for 2 days. I would highly recommend this little piece of paradise. It was easy to reach John also. We were so glad we found his place it was a great place to plan side trips from if we only had time.

Great home on the waterfront!

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay in this beautiful home by the water. My son was fishing on the boat dock every day. We also took the canoes out and enjoyed the beautiful scenery.

The house has a wonderful beach feel due to the nice decor and colors.

The owner John is very helpful and will do anything to make your stay a great experience!

We will definitely come back here when we are in Florida again. Great location to explore the gulf coast!

Excellent Home to Rent; Stayed a month and loved the accomodations!

  • 5 of 5

You couldn't ask for a more accommodating host. We asked John about cooking items and he went out and got everything we asked for! What a super host. We loved the home. The only issue we had was not with John's rental. The traffic on RT 19?, the main multi-lane highway available, is ridiculous; some of the drivers have a death wish. We loved several of the small, off the path, restaurants, and found that some of the chain restaurants were better than the locally owned!. We loved the location and the home, it was clean/quiet and huge for the two of us and our Brittany. But, too many people in FL.

Thanks John.
