Both of us grew up near the water -- He lived most of his life on coast of Georgetown and Myrtle Beach in South Carolina, whereas I grew up in the tropical islands of the Philippines. After retiring from a busy IT career, I am rekindling my passion for resort/property management by sharing our waterfront family compound on Lake Norman to visiting guests and their families in the area.
Alicia Graham purchased this house in 2007
Troutman is a quaint little town on the north side of Lake Norman. We found this 'piece of paradise' as a quick getaway place from the hustle and bustle of work life 17 years ago. Not one moment of regret. The peace and tranquility refreshes our souls after a hard day's work. Why not share this special place with everyone else?
We actually stayed here during Business Meetings being held in Davidson. It was so nice coming home in the evenings to a true "home"! Everything was more than expected and gave us plenty of personal space, but room to get together in the evenings and relax. We all truly enjoyed the house and surroundings!
We have several more trips over next year and will surely be backsoon!! Thanks!
The description of the house was very accurate. the cottage was great, but the upstairs loft was very hot, the fan helped, but it was hot.
But all considered, we all LOVED this place, it was very clean and very well maintained, we wish we could of used the pontoon boat, and we will definitely be coming back and using it. we did not need anything other than the fantastic detailed information I received prior to arriving. I would definitely recommend this house to anyone interested in visiting the area.
We did not visit many of the local restaurants or activities because we were in town for a family function and that took most of our time.
I would recommend when arriving to be very careful pulling into the drive, it is a very sharp "hairpin" turn and if overshot, it could be dangerous.
Overall, I would come back to this house in a heartbeat. I loved visiting, and spending time with family in this house,
the owner was fantastic to work with and very accommodating while making our decision to pick the house.
We stayed in the main house that has 5 bedrooms, 4 baths. There are 2 master suites, the 3rd bedroom downstairs has a bathroom just outside it and 2 bedrooms upstairs share a bathroom. The house is beautifully decorated all over. We vacationed with 5 couples, everyone had their personal space and the common areas accommodate all of us comfortably. There are board games and a gaming area upstairs with a large TV, dining table as well as other seating. Downstairs has a small formal dining area in the front of the house and table seating for 8 beside the kitchen. There are 3 sitting areas on the back deck, 2 fire pits, a dock with canoe and paddle boat. You can stay at the house or Uber to the Vineyard or drive to nearby shopping and entertainment. I would suggest another refrigerator upstairs but it looks like they are either working on it or maybe replacing one. There is a countertop and cabinets already. Great house, loved it.
House has more than enough room for a big family or parties
Alicia is great! Her vacation home is awesome, a perfect place to spend some time with your family and relax. The house is very charming and Alicia provided us everything we needed for a perfect stay. Everybody also loved having the pedal boat and the kayak!
Totally recommend it!
The property, location, home, and attention to concerns were all outstanding.
Being located in a small, calm cove was very pleasant for paddling.
The canoe and pedal boat on site were both nice.
We brought our own SUP and kayak as well.
Both inside and outside environments were comfortable and added to the experience of our annual family vacation.
The upstairs ping pong / billiards / air hockey table was a great feature.
I would definitely recommend this property for anyone wanting a quiet cove on Lake Norman.
Enjoyed our stay. Ample room for 15 people. Great game room for the kids. Great location on the lake, close to restaurants. Would stay here again.
