About the property

Private, King bed with bath and living room/kitchenette.

We have two rental suites (see VRBO listing #507165 for Lanai rental). 'The Lookout' is a beautifully decorated 464 sq ft. suite with a private entry, lanai, living room, kitchenette, and bathroom. Common areas include an outdoor kitchen with small oven/stovetop, laundry facilities, and gas grill. We invested in your comfort with a king sleep number bed. The Lookout has a small lanai with stunning views of the sunset and the garden. Outdoor seating area also available below amongst the plumeria. Setting is a lush acre of flowers, avocados, kona coffee, papayas, bananas, and citrus. We are happy to share our bounty when available. Drive a few minutes to spend the day snorkeling and enjoying the tropical settings of Honaunau or Kealakekua Bay. Private massage in your suite is available with advanced notice (additional charge).

Snorkel equipment is available to borrow. We are owner occupied and happy to advise you regarding activities, restaurants, or other big island sights.

We look forward to meeting you and sharing our slice of paradise.

About Tina Snapp and Keri Jones

On site management by Tina and Keri a nurse and veterinarian who moved to the Big Island from Colorado. We fell in love with the island over 18 years ago and finally made moving here a reality in 2012. We love to travel and have taken that knowleged to create accomdations that are comfortable and have all you need to relax and enjoy your stay.

Tina Snapp and Keri Jones purchased this house in 2012

Why Tina Snapp and Keri Jones chose Kona Coast

We wanted to live in a slightly rural area, where we could have some land and raise fruits and vegetables. After many years in the big city, we wanted the slower relaxed pace that the Captain Cook provides.

What makes this house unique

The sunset views from the deck are beautiful. We love to snorkel and the best on the island is a few minutes away.

Very lovely house!

  • 5 of 5

Loved the tropical rainforest setting. The house was nice and cool to the point that I turned on the gas fireplace for several minutes a few times. That was very enjoyable. Had a couple pretty good rainstorms while we were there, enjoyed hearing the rain on the metal roof. Very relaxing!

Owner's Response: I'm thrilled you had such a good time on the Big Island, but I'm afraid you left the review on the wrong property. Was this your Hilo side accommodation? We're the South Kona one with the muffins! :)

The Best Part of our Trip

  • 5 of 5

We spent 2 1/2 weeks in Hawaii and the last 5 days at this location and VRBO was our favorite. Not only was the area wonderful, but the accommodations, views, breakfasts and hosts were so welcoming, and just what we needed to top off a nice vacation. We would love to live there, but will settle for a return trip in 1-2 years if we are lucky. Will definitely go back.

Great place - we loved it!!!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time at Tina and Keri's place. The place was clean and had all the necessary things which made it a great stay. Tina's daily home backed muffins and the fruit plate was so tasty. Papayas, bananas and avocatos are growing right round their house. We also enjoyed their Kona coffee. Tina was always at hand when we had a question. Their place is great if you like to snorkel at Two Step or at the Captain Cook Monument. We definitely will be back next winter.

Loved our stay here!

  • 5 of 5

This was our first stop on the Big Island and it was a great introduction to the beauty of Hawaii. the ocean view and lush acreage was just a perfect setting for our stay. Tina's muffins in the morning were delicious and the location was great for exploring the Captain Cook and Kona area. The bed and bedding were comfortable and the unit had everything we needed. We would definitely recommend this property and would stay here again.
