About the property

Private, King bed with bath and living room/kitchenette.

We have two rental suites (see VRBO listing #507165 for Lanai rental). 'The Lookout' is a beautifully decorated 464 sq ft. suite with a private entry, lanai, living room, kitchenette, and bathroom. Common areas include an outdoor kitchen with small oven/stovetop, laundry facilities, and gas grill. We invested in your comfort with a king sleep number bed. The Lookout has a small lanai with stunning views of the sunset and the garden. Outdoor seating area also available below amongst the plumeria. Setting is a lush acre of flowers, avocados, kona coffee, papayas, bananas, and citrus. We are happy to share our bounty when available. Drive a few minutes to spend the day snorkeling and enjoying the tropical settings of Honaunau or Kealakekua Bay. Private massage in your suite is available with advanced notice (additional charge).

Snorkel equipment is available to borrow. We are owner occupied and happy to advise you regarding activities, restaurants, or other big island sights.

We look forward to meeting you and sharing our slice of paradise.

About Tina Snapp and Keri Jones

On site management by Tina and Keri a nurse and veterinarian who moved to the Big Island from Colorado. We fell in love with the island over 18 years ago and finally made moving here a reality in 2012. We love to travel and have taken that knowleged to create accomdations that are comfortable and have all you need to relax and enjoy your stay.

Tina Snapp and Keri Jones purchased this house in 2012

Why Tina Snapp and Keri Jones chose Kona Coast

We wanted to live in a slightly rural area, where we could have some land and raise fruits and vegetables. After many years in the big city, we wanted the slower relaxed pace that the Captain Cook provides.

What makes this house unique

The sunset views from the deck are beautiful. We love to snorkel and the best on the island is a few minutes away.

Amazing view, wonderful hosts and great accommodations

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time at Tina and Keri's place. The unit was very clean and comfortable with everything we needed which made it a great stay. Tina provided us daily home baked muffins with a fruit plate for breakfast. The muffins were so good and large we were able to take them with us for breakfast at the next place we stayed. The papayas, bananas and avocados were grown an their small farm that surrounds their house. We were also provided home-grown and roasted Kona coffee. The bed was a very comfortable Sleep Number bed which provided our only issue, what is our number? Tina and Keri were great at answering any questions we had and making recommendations. Unless you are up for a beautiful but windy drive, make sure you follow their directions instead of the maps app. After figuring out the layout of the area we wandered all over it. Would definitely recommend the Paleaku Gardens Peace Sanctuary not far away.

Beautiful and comfortable rental.

  • 5 of 5

Keri and Tina are excellent hosts. Their place is lovely, gardens are great, views are terrific. They give adequate privacy but are around for questions and tips on places to visit or eat. The rental is very clean and well equipped, breakfasts of fruit and muffins are delicious. Location is very central to many locations on the island. Would definitely stay here in the future and would highly recommend to anyone.

What a great stay!

  • 5 of 5

Tina and Keri were great hosts! We were pampered with breakfast every day. The variety of fruits presented was tasty and fun. Location of this property was great for us. We could take a easy early morning walk and then head off to sightsee ,snorkel etc. for the day. Close to great snorkelling and not too far a drive to locations south; black sand beach and green sand beach. Loved the serenade of the frogs and the birds. Tina was very helpful in answering our questions and giving suggestions on sights to see. Very nice to have the use of beach chairs, boogie board and cooler during our stay. We thoroughly enjoyed being away from the busyness of the city to take in the rural life. We would definitely stay here again.

Very lovely house!

  • 5 of 5

Loved the tropical rainforest setting. The house was nice and cool to the point that I turned on the gas fireplace for several minutes a few times. That was very enjoyable. Had a couple pretty good rainstorms while we were there, enjoyed hearing the rain on the metal roof. Very relaxing!

Owner's Response: I'm thrilled you had such a good time on the Big Island, but I'm afraid you left the review on the wrong property. Was this your Hilo side accommodation? We're the South Kona one with the muffins! :)

Easy to find, located between Kealakekua bay and Honaunau (Place of Refuge), two of the best snorkeling spots on the island. We are only 10-15 minutes from groceries and restaurants, and 30 minutes from shopping and tourist attractions of Kona.
