5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, sleeps 10, plus 4 for children 6-12 yr upstairs room.

Casa de paz (house of peace) is a very beautiful executive grade luxury country villa , with 5 bedrooms sleeping facility for 10 plus 4 ,if the small childs bedroom upstairs is used .

The villa is ideal for a relaxing holiday and for Rock climbers/mountaineers and cyclist,hikers,ornithologist .It is set in over 6000sq m. of its own private grounds with a large swimming pool [ 12m x 6m ] . It has impressive palatial front gates, a long wide drive.There is a orange grove, and many other fruit tree. The car park holds about 30 cars and can also be used for outside games-tennis. There is also a 70 foot long games room in the grounds which houses the table tennis and other sports equipment.Internally, the villa is furnished to a high standard with all facilities. The main bathroom has a Jacuzzi and the second bathroom has aides for the elderly. The villa is completely flat throughout which makes it suitable for three generation family holidays!

From the villa there is very easy access to the motorways ; the sea, mountains ,cities & golf are nearby.

ARRIVAL TIME : AFTER 4PM. IF NEW CLIENTS ARE ARRIVING THE SAME DAY AS THE PREVIOUS CLIENTS ARE LEAVING ,THE VILLA MAY NOT BE READY FOR THE NEW CLIENTS UNTIL 8PM

DEPARTURE TIME : 10 AM especially if new clients are arriving the same day.

Entrance: As you enter the villa grounds there is a wide gate which can be operated by remote control or manually. The driveway is long and spacious and the car park is enormous allowing lots of space and freedom for children to play safely and securely in a totally enclosed environment. Nets are provided for volley ball, badminton and the lines are drawn over the car park area to play almost 3/4 of a full length tennis court. There is a very large games room next to the parking bay which houses the table tennis and other games equipment as well as inflatables for the pool.

On either side of the driveway there are 2 plots suitable for children’s playing area and a double swing and sand pit is provided at the back of the villa.Please rake the sand before use . It tends to harden if it is not used frequently.

Gardens :

The plot is over 6000sq m. The orange grove has 67 orange trees. Guests are welcome to use the oranges which are in season from November to April and there is a large fruit juicer for your use.PLEASE CLEAN THE JUICER VERY THOROUGHLY AFTER USE. Other fruit trees include 10 olive trees, 2 pomegranates, figs, dates, red berrys and lemons.

In a outer building there is a wet room , changing room , and a second washing machine .

SWIMMING POOL :

The swimming pool is maintained to a high standard and measures 12 meters by 6 meters and the deepest end is 2 meters deep. There is no child safety barrier around the pool.Please ensure children are supervised by an adult at all times. It is recommended children should have arm bands while playing around the pool.

The safety of children is the responsibility of the holiday guests. The owners can not accept any liability for slips, falls or other accidents.MARBLE STEPS ARE SLIPPERY- especially with wet feet.PLEASE TAKE EXTRA CARE ,and advise children not to run on the steps.

YOU ARE ARE ADVISED TO BRING YOUR EUROPEAN REGISTERED HEALTH CARDS FOR EMERGENCY TREATMENT. IT IS BETTER TO HAVE A FULL HOLIDAY INSURANCE FOR EVERY ONE.

In any event the liability of the owners will never be more then the total cost of the holiday less any booking charges made by Homeaway.

There are many fine sandy beaches just 25 minute drive: Santa Pola, La Marina, Guadamar, Torrevieca and Alicante , San Juan , are just some of them.

We can not guarantee you will pick up all the channels you could in your own house.

There are 7 restaurants within 2km of the villa.

SHOPPING :

The local mini-market DIAL -PRIX is well stocked with all groceries and off-licence drinks.It is 1.5km from the villa along the cv875 towards Elche. Opening times from Monday to Friday are : 8 am to 2p.m [ 14.00 ] , 4pm to 8 pm

Sunday opening is from 10 am to 2 pm. It may not be open on the numerous public holidays they have in Spain.

Almost opposite the Dial-Prix mini-market is a Bodega / restaurant which sells very nice wines ,5 litres for about 14

euros.

Supermarkets : Carefoure in Elche is open from 8 am to 10 pm from Monday to Friday .On Sunday it is open from 10am to

2pm.

Please look in the information folder in the lounge for more interesting information for the area.

Zoo , Water parks , theme parks are within easy drive from the villa.

A local neighbour ESPRANZA is willing to make a very enjoyable Paella dish for 50euros which is enough for

10 plus guests.Please ask villa manager to arrange this for you.

It may be possible to arrange regular maid service for 10 euros per hour.

MOUNTAINS :

Keen rock climbers have found the villa ideal for the local mountains . They have found the low season very suitable and economical for their hobby.

Professional cyclist come to this area from all over europe to train.

For you comfort :

In the summer we recommend you keep the bedroom blinds drawn and keep the windows and bedroom doors open for best circulation and use the air fans for cooling the air. This is more healthy then using the air-condiotining

IF YOU WANT TO USE THE AC THEN PLEASE CLOSE ALL WINDOWS AND DOORS.

For a mosquito free house please keep the exterior doors closed.

There is shortage of electricity in Spain in the summer. You may find some time there is only enough electric for one

a/c unit - use the one in the lounge.

Also we recommend you use the gas cookers. . If the electric oven and microwave are used together

this may 'trip' the electric.Reduce appliances in use and Turn the switch back on from the fuse panel by the front door.

BALCONY & TERRACE UPSTAIRS : Please note in the interest of client safety there is no access to ROOF TERRACE&

BALCONY.

This is a home from home self catering /cleaning/ washing holiday.

House maid can be arranged for 10€ per hour to do cleaning /washing, when required.

Clients staying more then two weeks are recommended to pay

120€ and hire the house maid to clean and wash the linene very two weeks.

I am semi-retired . My wife Daisy is retired but is a full time grandmother to four young grand children.

We visit the villa frequently with the family to enjoy the sunshine and to escape the British winter.

The villa is ideal for a family or a multi-family holiday.

The children [and adults ],have such a great time they never want to go home when the holiday is finished.

We had been to the Costa Blanca many times and decided it

is a great place to have a property. After a very long search we found the holiday home of our dreams.

We have everything we could wish for in this villa .All other facilities are near by.

What makes this villa unique

WHO -the World Health organisation has classifed this area to be one of the most healthy places in the world . The area is full of palm trees , grape vines , pomegranetes, oranges lemons and palm trees.

We have 65 orange trees , many olive trees , fig trees , dates and palm trees.

The 6000 square meter plot [ 1 1/2 acres ] provides us with all the space we could want .

When we go to the villa from the UK we feel we have arrived in paradise.

Just a short two hour flight from London brings us away from the

wet cold winter of the UK to a very pleasant place in the sun.

The climate is benign in winter 12-18c, sunny almost every day , very pleasant in Springtime , and hot in the summer.

Some years the pool is 22-24c in late March!

The birds sing for you from early morning to nightfall.

Beautiful villa for a wonderful holiday

Casa de Paz was a wonderful place to stay for a special break. Early March is not in the main season but everything was beautifully prepared, well maintained and clean inside and out including the lovely pool: enjoyable for a refreshing swim when one could dry off in the hot sun. It was a good time of year to be there to explore the area on foot or using the bicycles provided. We are not long distance cyclists but appreciated quiet, flat roads and being able to reach the historic city of Elche and the reserve at El Fondo for some great bird watching. We did not have a car and did not miss it, wanting to make the most of a quiet place that is off the beaten track but with everything one needs within reach.

The villa is certainly well equipped for family holidays including activities inside for times of year when it is not so good outside. March weather does vary and we were grateful for some heating in the evenings but we often had wonderful sunshine during the day and usually breakfast on the terrace with freshly picked oranges. Information given before our stay was detailed and accurate and any queries while we were there were dealt with promptly. The villa really is as good as it looks from the website photos. I would certainly recommend this property to others.

BICYCLES WERE SUPPLIED FOR YOU AS A SPECIAL FAVOUR PLEASE NOTE WE DO NOT NORMALLY SUPPLY BICYCLES FOR CLIENTS. FOR A FEW HOURS ,EVEN IN JANUARY THE TEMPERATURE CAN BE 28C . A WINTER ESCAPE TO SPAIN IS AN IDEAL WAY TO DEAL WITH THE WINTER BLUES IN THE UK.

Excellent

I am one of the party who stayed in the Villa before LUCY J and her family arrived.

We are quite insulted that Lucy J has stated they found the Villa dirty as I can honestly say we did more than enough cleaning through out our stay and more importantly on the morning we were due to leave as we were very grateful that our late departure was being accommodated.

I can confirm that the Villa was not dirty. We kept on top of cleaning the Villa through out our stay. We swept and mopped the whole Villa on the Sunday and then again on the Tuesday morning. We were up at 7am that morning with ALL bedding was washed and hung out before the cleaner arrived around 10am and all towels that we used were put in the wash before we left at 3pm ish.

The cleaner had done 80% of her clean by lunch time with only some beds to be made, the kitchen and the hall way to be cleaned. We didn't use the bathrooms after 10am so couldn't tell you if she had cleaned them but can 100% say there were not that bad, as we also cleaned these during our stay.

Wild dogs? as far as we know a little dog from next door wondered around early one evening but was lead away easily and never saw it again.

On to our stay, we found the Villa to be ideal for what we wanted. Lovely grounds, perfect for the kids to play tennis, table tennis and just to explore when they needed a break from the pool, the pool was great.

There were a few issues regarding air con in the up stairs room but Juan did his best to get it sorted once we had reported it.

The villa could be modernised a bit inside I guess but in no way did this affect our stay.

We would defiantly consider staying here again and if we were to suggest one thing, maybe it would be better if Juan and the cleaner spoke a little English as communication with them was a bit tricky.

Thanks to Peter and Daisy for letting us stay in you Villa, we will recommend this to our friends and family.

Owner's Response: Thank you for giving a balanced view of the villa , and we are delighted you will recommend the villa to others and hopefully visit us again very soon. It is our intention to re-decorate the villa for summer 2017. We try very hard to ensure the villa is clean and fully ready before the clients arrive. On the 9th August The cleaners were asked to have the villa ready by 12pm , unfortunately they thought 12pm was midnight. In future we shall use the 24 hour time clock to reduce any doubt of the time. The cleaners thought the villa was not required to be ready until before 12pm midnight . So they went for their Siesta and came back later in the afternoon to complete the cleaning. It is a shame the new clients arrived before the villa could be fully cleaned and made presentable for them. They could have enjoyed the outside facilities and waited a few more hours until the villa was ready for them. In future we shall recommend that clients arrive as late as possible , and be prepared to wait if clients are leaving the same day; and clients leaving should leave as early as possible. This means a late arrival flight and a early return flight. This does not work for every one so we do ask for some good will and patience.

Shocking

I Booked this villa online for My family and also for the my brother's family. My brother as 20 months old twins so the grounds looked fab for them to run around.

How disappointed can you be when you turn up and discover what we did. The people before us were just leaving and they said that they had an amazing time which was a great start. Whilst I was talking outside to one of the ladies, my mum went in and had a look round, she then came and said she wasn't happy. At this point I walked in and was gobsmacked.

I walked down the corridor to the kitchen and it was filthy. There we dirty bed sheets everywhere with flies all over them. The floor was thick with dirt. The stairs to the upstairs bedroom were extremely dangerous. I went upstairs and decided to take a look. The bedroom looked like something out of a prison. The cupboards with disgusting and the babies high chairs had stains and food all over them.

I then went to investigate the other rooms. The bedrooms were dirty. The beds had holes in them and the with brown with dirt. The bathrooms hadn't been cleaned for god knows how long. The rooms were are also dark and dingy. I would not have left my dog there.

In my opinion the whole place needs gutting and having a major revamp. There is no was that I would have left the twins sleeping in the villa. We were also informed that they have a problem with wild dogs.

We are in Spain for 2 weeks and I've had to find other accommodation which has cost me more money. The amount of money that these people are charging is a joke.

Owner's Response: The previous clients who were leaving as the new clients arrived , had a "amazing time " The clients leaving had a late flight , and we made the mistake of allowing them to stay until 4 pm. The previous tenants AND THE CLEANER claim Lucy has over reacted , and the villa was in the process of being cleaned , and her extreme criticism is not justified . It is unfortunate the new clients arrived before the cleaners had a chance to finish the cleaning. It does take time to prepare the villa after a group of 14 have been using it for two weeks. When previous clients are leaving ,the same day as new ones are arriving , we do recommend the new clients arrive as late as possible because they may find the villa is not ready until 8 pm. We shall avoid this happening again by insisting departing clients must vacate the villa by 10 am and new clients arrive about 8pm [20.00 hours] The blinds and curtains must have been drawn to keep the sun out . There is excellent lighting in every room and in the hallway. The bed sheets were waiting to be washed. We have had the villa since 2004 and never had a problem with " wild dogs" that is not common to the Spainish country side. The villa grounds are secure and gated .it is perfectly safe for children and adults. Every previous client has found the villa decor to be ideal for a country villa. We always want to improve and take every review very seriously. We want every client to have wonderful positive experience of their stay and we shall do what ever is required to maintain a high quality luxury villa. It is unlike;y that you will find another villa cheaper within 25km of the airport that offers 6000sq meters of space , and just 5 minutes into the city of Elche and the peace and quite of the countryside, and all the facilities that are available in our villa CASA DEPAZ. We sincerely hope prospective clients will not be put off by Lucy's comments , and will take into consideration the comments made by the departing client below.

amazing villa in beautiful grounds

The villa is beautiful and the children loved collecting the oranges for freshly squeezed juice each morning. The location is off the beaten track which was perfect for a relaxing three generation family holiday. The nearest supermarket is 1.8 km away and there are a few restaurants within the same distance. The fact that there also a games room and courts meant that we had lots of family rivalry at volleyball and table tennis. The pool is a good size and the grounds are beautifully maintained. The solar shower by the pool was a big plus with a large family. I highly recommend the paella not cheap but absolutely delicious.

Owner's Response: We are very pleased you enjoyed your holiday at CASA DE PAZ and the free oranges which are normally available from end of October to June . September to October we have figs, dates , and pomegranates . The 800l solar storage tank can provide sufficient hot water for the four showers , and in the winter from November to April could be used to add some hot water to the pool.The solar hot water can be backed up by the gas boiler if required on the rare rainy days. The nearest bar / restaurant is on the main road 1km from the villa. The tennis , football, table tennis , volley ball , walking in the nearby fields of palm trees and the pool are ideal for an active holiday. The dawn chorus of the birds welcome a new day to enjoy. We do hope you will come again , some clients have returned 4 times. ,

Suburb villa

We had a fantastic time , we took our whole family , five grandsons and our three girls with their partners. The villa is very well equipped with good supplies of dish washer tables, toilet rolls, kitchen rolls and washing powers . The beds are very comfortable and the games room and pool were excellent. We stayed for seven days and never left the villa , apart for shopping. The kids were more than happy to swim and play around the villa. Value for money is excellent considering the villa can sleep 12 plus in comfort.

Very nice!

We've stayed with our oldrerchildren and parents for our 25 wedding day. The villa was a very good destination.

We've lived by the pool. Everthing we need was there and even a small umbrella at the pool which we missed and we've asked for we've got in a 3 ours. We had rent 2 cars because you need that for this villa. It was a great place to be!!

DIRECTIONS:

The villa Casa de Paz is in Matola, Algoda, Elche , Alicante , Costa Blanca , Spain .It is situated along a country lane just 500m from the main road the CV 875.World famous bird sanctuary EL FONDO PARC NATURAL is 2km away.

The motorway A7 going south to Torrevieca/CARTEGENA and north to Alicante is just 5 minutes from the villa.

La Marina is just 20minute drive and has a fun water park and

a lovely beach surrounded by woodland.

The mountains around Crevilente are 15 minute drive and the beaches are 25 minute drive. The historical city of Elche is 6km away and is famous for its Palm trees and leather industry. There are several large hypermarkets within 10 minutes drive and local shops are just 15 - 25 minutes walk.

Bread , milk , and some essential groceries are available from the local garage and the garden shop [ferretera] about 10minute walk from the villa located on the main road.

To reach the villa you leave the motorway at junction Crevillente Estacion F.F.C.C. CV875 , and join the road CV875 , enter the REPSOL PETROL STATION AND OUT AGAIN BUT TURN LEFT FOR going to Elche. CONTINUE FOR ABOUT 4KM TO THE CEPSA PETROL STATION.

After the Cepsa petrol station continue for 200m and turn right after the 60km sign , concrete blocks marked in red RANDHAWA [ if they have not been washed or painted off]..Continue on the country lane for 500m.

Please dig the sand pit and rake it for children's use.

Ski: The sierra Nevada ski resort is about 4 hour drive and is very popular in January and February. It is less busy on week days.

Granada and the Alhambra palace are well worth a visit if you are touring.

For cooling the A/c unit should not be set below 18C .The windows and doors should be closed when using the A/CFor heating the A/c unit should not be more than 22C.

We request all clients to replenish all items supplied for your convenience [ toilet rolls , kitchen rolls , washing powder....etc]

Please exchange empty gas cylinders for full ones from the CEPSA garage on the main road CV875 . Each gas cylnder costs 18 euros.

There is a refuse collection bin on the road just opposite house number 13 - the neighbour's house.Please dispose of your refuse into this bin as soon as possible to deter any mice ,cats or foxes from making a mess.

Temperature control advice :

In the warm weather from May to September we recommend you open the windows and have the window shades down just enough to keep the sun out and use the the air fans. IF possible keep all the internal doors open,

All external doors should be kept shut to keep the

mosquitoes out of the house. Please bring with you

some mosquito repellents and antihistamine tablets.

Charcoal and wood are available from the local Cepsa garage on the main road.

The instructions for tuning the TV are near the TV.You will need these each time after the electricity is switched back on.

There is a 100euro additional management charge for cleaning, changing and washing of linen for up to 4 bedrooms and 120 euros for 5 bedrooms after two weeks or at the end of the holiday.

  • There are four bedrooms on the ground floor and one bedroom on the first floor. Total of 5 bedrooms only. Two rooms have double beds , one room has two single beds , one room has two single and one bunk bed. The upstairs room has two single beds and one bunk bed.This room is only suitable for children of about 6 to 12 years old.The spiral stair case is only suitable for small persons. There is a sofa bed for use in special cases only-i.e not for regular use.It is not in a bedroom.It is in the lounge/diner. The rental prices quoted are for up to 8 guests using 4 bedrooms on the ground floor. The upstairs room is only recommended to be used if there are more then 10 guests.This room has a narrow access by a spiral staircase and is not suitable for large or tall persons. Please note if a party of 10 guests or less want to use the 5th bedroom upstairs there is a additional charge of £100 per week. Notes:
There is no safety barrier round the pool, so for peace of mind it is a good idea for small children to wear an inflatable jacket while playing. The villa grounds are very flat with only 3 easy steps up to the veranda and front door. Wheelchair ramps can be provided. There is a charge of 50 pounds for pets. There is a second Spanish style kitchen in the family room area with an indoor BBQ. There is also a large outdoor BBQ.There is a solar pool cover which allows the pool to be used most of the year .The master bedroom has a double bed with lots of storage space while the fourth bedroom has twin beds with pull out beds underneath, suitable for children. The cot may be moved to whichever room it is required. There is a outdoors shower/ toilet and changing room. The empty gas cylinders can be exchanged for full cylinders at the cepsa petrol station for about 14 euro . Please bring your own sky viewing cards for the tv. CAUTION WET MARBLE STEPS ARE VERY SLIPPERY
