Week in Winter Park, FL

  • 4 of 5

The property was convenient to our needs- a fantastic location! We had driven 4 days across country as my husband was relocating for work. It was so nice of Scott and Mary to have some groceries waiting for us upon arrival. As anyone can imagine, we needed a break from being in the car. The house was plenty spacious with 2 master suites and a third bedroom. It was great that our dog and cat were welcome too! The backyard offered a spa/pool which was a really nice way to relax at the end of the day. The Wi-Fi access made life easier and was greatly appreciated. The home was very clean and very well maintained. We would recommend this property to friends and family. There were plenty of great restaurants very close. It was a very good experience!

Needs more than a little TLC

  • 2 of 5

We stayed here from March 28, 2016 to April 5, 2016. This house is in a great location. Its quiet and was close to the Dr. we were seeing. But anyone that can afford to rent a vacation home wants something better than this. It's old and musty and needs a tonne of work. Back screen room was falling apart. Pool does not heat up. We had to wash the frying pan before I could use it. We had to clean the microwave before I could use it. Multiple lights were burnt out. Shower was moldy. The list goes on and on. We're not afraid to rough it but were greatly disappointed.

Cozy, Comfortable, Convenient

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I were in Orlando on business, this home provided everything we needed. Comfortable interior, nice relaxing seating area outside to enjoy coffee in the morning and a cocktail in the evening. Great location close to everything for our work and play needs and a great yard for our 2 dogs to play in. Love the neighborhood and the local restaurants too! We enjoyed walking our dogs in the neighborhood due to the quiet street and sidewalks.

Scott and Mary provided us with some incredible snacks and were ready and willing to ensure we had everything we needed.

Thank you for a stress free stay.

Spacious and Bright

  • 5 of 5

This was the perfect vacation home for our trip to Orlando. We weren't "doing the parks" every day, but relaxing in the Florida warmth and meeting some old friends for a mini reunion. We were able to spread out comfortably, bring our pooch along, and enjoy the nice kitchen to cook meals for ourselves and our friends. We loved Winter Park's amenities: parks in walking distance to the house, nice neighborhoods, a great shopping district, and good restaurants for eating out. When we did visit the theme parks on 2 days of our week-long stay, we took Uber taxis rather than driving in Orlando traffic. It was a great way to go!

The description provided on this property is accurate in its entirety. You'll find an older Florida-style home in a well-maintained neighborhood. The nice-sized rooms are comfortably furnished and with lots of light, making it very pleasant. The screened patio, with spa pool and chaise lounges, was a wonderful place to relax. It was very nice to have a fenced backyard so we could easily let the dog have some outside time without keeping him on a leash. (He had fun chasing the squirrels!) The king size bed in the master BR was soft for my taste, but that's a personal preference and not a ding on the property. Taken in total, this is an excellent alternative to hotels for privacy, space, and price.

A word about the hosts: Scott and Mary have worked hard to make their vacation rental a lovely place for their guests. They stocked the kitchen way above and beyond, making it easy to arrive and have the basics already in the house. They are very quickly responsive to any questions or requests. We would definitely stay here again when we come to Orlando!

Everything we needed and then some.

  • 4 of 5

My husband, two adult children and I stayed here for a family wedding in February and it suited us perfectly. The house was generously stocked and the space was open enough to accommodate lots of family traffic in between events. The master bedroom was spacious with an odd "half-wall bathroom" built in, but there was a bathroom across the hall and one attached to the front guest room. As a native Winter Parker, I loved the proximity to restaurants, old haunts and family.

Needs alot of TLC

  • 2 of 5

I keep wondering who wrote all those glowing reviews. The house need more than a little TLC. It is very uncared for and not at all clean. The toilet in the main bathroom does not work properly and the back yard and screen room were a mess. The kitchen sink clogged up from using the garbage disposal and when I called , I was told to act like I was at home and try to fix it ourselves. Finally after trying everything the son came over the next day but it took two more days to finally fix it. There were plenty of snacks and food in the refrigerator but to me I would rather have a clean house. I would not recommend this house to anyone. I have rented several VRBO and Home away home and this is the first one I have been disappointed in.

Owner's Response: We are surprised and dismayed hearing about a guest's displeasure while staying at our vacation rental. We have always done our very best to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and professionalism in order to ensure the most enjoyable visit for all of our guests, no matter how short or long they stay at our VRBO. To guarantee these standards, we are fastidious in our sweeping, mopping, wiping down, and disinfecting the house before guests check in and after they check out. As a pet-friendly VRBO, the backyard is maintained, but necessarily not "groomed" since we happily accommodate our furry guests as well. The toilet was and continues to be functional; we have since made a minor adjustment to make it run quieter. We agree that the clogged sink drain was an unforeseeable inconvenience, however, we responded immediately and began repairs within 12 hours. Our son (who is an experienced property manager) had the repairs completed within 24 hours - during the holiday weekend of Martin Luther King Day. He was even contacted personally by another member of this guest's party and profusely thanked for getting a difficult job done in a professional manner and in a reasonable time. We make every effort to provide a relaxing experience for our guests and feel confident that the comfort, presentation, cleanliness and service we offer will continue to meet and exceed expectations.
