Entirely Furnished Two Bedroom Garden Level Suite

Located in the heart of Commercial Drive, East Vancouver, in beautiful British Columbia, Canada.

We are pleased to offer you our fully furnished, fully equipped garden level suite for short or long term rentals.

We have created a cozy, welcoming, warm and truly comfortable self-contained suite to welcome you to Vancouver.

The suite is uniquely furnished and outfitted, filled with warm colours and simple yet beautiful furnishings and artwork. We offer you two bedrooms with very comfortable queen beds, washer/dryer, dishwasher, fully outfitted kitchen, living room, and new bathroom. It also has free parking at the back of the house, right by your private entrance, and a patio right under the cherry trees for your use.

For travelling parents, we provide for your convenience a high chair (changes level and tilts to lounging position), playpen/bassinette, stroller and infant rear facing car seat (detachable that clips in the stroller) plus a toddler car seat (see pictures for details). Hopefully this can make your travelling arrangements easier.

Everyone who has stayed in our suite was nothing but happy, comfortable, felt right at home and loved the space. However, as a courtesy to our guests, we want to check that our ceiling height will not cause a problem in case you happen to be an extremely tall person! The ceiling is slightly lower than normal height in the suite (approximately 6'5')(196cm), and there is a beam going across the living room doorway that is around 6' (183 cm). As we said, this has not been a problem for anyone but we do like you to have this information before you check in.

We are located in the heart of Commercial Drive, an area lovingly called “The Drive,” by the locals. This is an eclectic and unique neighborhood with great shopping, a diverse variety of restaurants, beautiful parks, and a vibrant ambiance, and easy access to all other parts of Vancouver.

The Commercial Drive Cozy Getaway locates you less than one block away from public transit.

It is an easy 15-minute drive to downtown Vancouver, or only one bus if you are using transit. You can also spend lovely days right here in the neighborhood - Commercial Drive is home to many international restaurants, European-style cafes, night entertainment, health food stores, and great shopping within a few blocks. There is a yoga studio just across the street and also only a block away we have a community centre with a pool, skating rink, gym, athletic track and library.

~ We maintain a smoke free and pet free environment for all of our guests. ~

2 bedrooms with queen beds in each room, 1 new bathroom with full shower and bathtub.

Our other amenities include: ? Laundry, iron, ironing board, full kitchen with dishwasher, Wireless Internet, HDTV, DVD/Blu-Ray player and cable.

Free parking is available behind the house (space for one car).

When our schedules allow, we offer a shuttle to and from the Vancouver International Airport for just $30. A taxi would cost you approximately $40 to get to our house. We are also happy to send you detailed directions if you are planning to take public transit.

We - Alexis and Sylvain - are professional dance artists and we both work for Ballet BC in Vancouver. Alexis is a dancer, Sylvain is the rehearsal director for the Company and also a photographer. We are passionate for our commitment to working in the arts and we want to reflect that in our home. Our intention is to create a welcoming and restful environment for all our guests.

Why Sylvain Senez chose Vancouver

Commercial Drive is a beautiful neighborhood, and one of Vancouver's many special places. It is a creatively inspiring, colourful, eclectic and lively place to live. Our home - Casa Om - has brought a sense of magic, spontenaeity, and synchronicity into our lives, our relationships, and into the lives of many of our guests. We cherish this home and have the intention of using our space to create an atmosphere of welcome and beauty to share with others.

We have been also successfully running a small B&B business out of our main house for three years, and this rental garden suite is something we are excited to add to our list of offers to our guests.

What makes this house unique

Our house is a character home which has been renovated and re designed over the years. We love the yard with it's cherry trees, the unique neighborhood of Commercial Drive, the views of the mountains, and the quiet, family feel of our street. We have decorated and furnished our rental apartment with love, care, and our own unique creativity, casting it warm, vibrant colours, and even using some of our own and family members' photography to hang on the walls. We feel fortunate to live in this part of the world, and to have the opportunity to share it with those visiting Vancouver. We are also a bilingual English/French household, so if you are french-speaking you will feel right at home.

  • We have furnished the two bedrooms in this suite with very comfortable and carefully chosen mattresses, luxuriously comfortable duvets, and vibrantly coloured, handmade duvet covers to bring out all the warm colours. We also photographed, printed, and framed the artwork in both these rooms ourselves. There is lots of room to store your clothes and personal belongings, and also space to 'make it your own' upon your arrival.

Cozy Oasis

We really enjoyed our stay here it was an oasis away from the hustle and bustle around the corner on Commercial Drive. Our hosts Alexis & Sylvain made us feel most welcome especially with the banana loaf (which was yummy). The suite was just as described, very clean with comfortable furniture and fully equipped with everything we needed for our stay.

It was a great base for us to explore what Vancouver has to offer and being so close to Commercial Drive we had amazing morning coffees at Moja and Joe's cafe bar and when we returned in the evening there were so many restaurants to choose from if you wanted to eat out.

I would thoroughly recommend this place for a stay to anyone.

Great location, easy accessibility

The hosts make the suite very accessible, its located around the corner from great restaurants, coffee shops and transportation.

I haven't explored this area of Vancouver before, but I'm glad we did.

Quaint and cozy walkout basement apartment in a great location!

We had the pleasure of staying at this VRBO from Oct 6 to 14/2016. My husband I and wanted a place that had room for ourselves and also our son and 3 year old grandson who were flying in from Australia and to be able to feel like we were in a home instead of a hotel room.We were NOT was clean, comfy beds, nice fully equipped kitchen, large dining room, living room and big sliding glass doors to a cute courtyard, unfortunately the time of year was a bit cool to sit around outside. We were very happy to take advantage of the kid car seat which Sylvan the owner allowed a friend to pick up in advance to bring to the airport when we arrived in Vancouver and had rented a car. With parking being at a premium in the city it was so wonderful to have a parking pad just steps from our entrance out back. This location cannot be beat!! The neighbourhood is very convenient and in within walking distance to coffe shops, grocery stores, restaurants and best part was a great kids park so close to take our grandson! We attended a wedding while here and told whoever asked where we were staying about the amazing VRBO on Napier St. Thank You !

Cozy and convenient.

Casa Om was such a wonderful home base for us while we were in Vancouver. The location was convenient with delicious restaurants in the neighborhood and a wonderful playground and community center ice skating rink nearby for our daughter. The suite was perfect for our family of three.

Sylvain and Alexis were welcoming hosts and left us some fresh fruits and yummy bread in the fridge. No complaints, only praises from us!

Commercial Drive is a vibrant, eclectic neighborhood in the heart of East Vancouver.

This suite is ideal for vacations, family getaways, ski trips, and is also perfect for those needing affordable furnished accommodation for the longer term. Easily accessible from here (both by car and on public transit) are also both SFU campus sites, VCC, and Vancouver Film School.

We are just a 10 minute drive or 20 minute public transit trip from downtown Vancouver, but our beautiful neighborhood has a life all of it’s own! We are located just half a block away from public transit, unique shopping, great restaurants, European- style cafes, a yoga studio, pool, gym, ice rink, and athletic track.

Also easily accessible from here is transportation to Grouse Mountain, Whistler, both BC Ferry Terminals (Tsswassen and Horseshoe Bay), and access to beautiful hiking trails which allow you to experience the natural splendour of British Columbia.
