Fully Equipped 2 Bedroom/2 Bath Poolside Beachfront Family Condo

Our charming luxury unit features daily maid service, Wi-Fi, Satellite TV, AC and a ground floor level that is only steps from the Caribbean beach With pool and bilingual concierge, this unit sleeps up to 5 adults in two queen beds and one single bed. A crib is available if needed. Kayaks and a Barbeque Grill are only part of the amenities in our non-smoking home.

Our condo features a granite kitchen with a cooking surface stove, full size refrigerator and freezer, bottled and drinkable tap water as well as all appliances and cookware. The spacious bedrooms include two in-suite full marble baths with shower and soaking tub. The master suite has superb views of the ocean and the unit is fitted out with all furnishings to make it your home away from home. Our crystal clear pool beckons you to take a refreshing dip as you relax on the white sand beach.

Our Condo is superbly located in Half Moon Bay, Akumal in the heart of Mayan Riviera. An hour drive from the Cancun International Airport, 15 minutes from Tulum, the crossroads of the Yucatan, and 20 minutes from Playa del Carmen.

Akumal amenities within a short walk include Restaurants, Cafes, Gym, Yoga and massage, Business Center, Dive Shops, Pharmacy and Doctor and Supermarkets.

We are a retired couple living in the Washington, DC area. After vacationing in many of the Caribbean Islands, we fell in love with Akumal in the early 1980s and bought our lovely condo in 2000. We love to share this magical place and hope you will enjoy it as much as we do.

We bought our second home in Akumal because as watersports enthusiasts and confirmed beach people, we wanted what Akumal has. First class diving, snorkeling, white sand beaches, swimming with the Sea Turtles and proximity to the Mayan Ruins as well as the action of Playa del Carmen. We love the quiet and uncrowded beach at our front door as well as the magical energy of the Mayan Rivera.

What makes this condo unique

Our oceanfront patio with hammock, coffee and breakfast will let you always start the day with pure delight. Look at the giant Parrot Fish in the late afternoon in Half Moon Bay in front of our Condo, Sea Turtle laying eggs and the nests hatching right on the beach in front of you. The ever present sea breezes that flow through the living room and the sounds of the waves to gently nudge you to sleep. Awaken as the sun rises over Half Moon Bay and begin another day in paradise.

Wonderful week!

We loved our stay! Everything was great. Bruce (who is very patient!) was always very responsive to our communications in the months prior to our stay. On arrival, we were met by the manager who was there on site throughout our stay. We loved the location of the condo. Half Moon Bay was always peaceful, despite the fact that we stayed during spring break (Akumal Bay was another story!). Since the condo is situated on the ground floor, it was wonderfully convenient for the kids when using the pool or playing on the beach. Convenient for the adults, too, for easy refills! The condo had ample space for the four of us, the bedrooms were quite large and the A/C worked like a champ. The WiFi signal was weak in the condo, which for us was a blessing, as it forced everyone to unplug. We would absolutely stay here again and would definitely recommend it to friends.

Perfect Location

This is exactly what me and my girlfriend (and our 2 friends) were looking for. Akumal is a beautiful, peaceful area (though not without some excellent restaurants/bars, all within walking distance of this condo). Right on the beach, an incredible pool...we couldn't ask for more. The place is a great size, was clean, helpful staff, good communication with owner...nothing but great things to say about this experience!

2nd visit. This time took the grandparents!

This first story on the beach condo in a quiet slice of paradise was an ideal place for us to take my active 75 year old parents! From here it was easy day trips to Coba, Tulum, and Paamul. There are three great restaurants on the beach within the area. The facility itself was exactly as advertised. We will return!

Another great stay

We just returned home after a two and a half week stay in condo #3. This is the 8th year we have stayed at Lol Ka'naab. We find this location ideal for a very relaxing get away from our hectic lives. Every year we meet up with a group of friends that we have met while staying here, people from all over the U.S. and Canada. Sunrises are beautiful; the white sand beach is ideal for walking; the mile walk into town is enjoyable (and safe); the condo is fully equipped with everything we need. We do not rent a car but do grab a taxi when we take a short trip into Tulum. We do walk into town every day and on Wednesdays and Saturdays, we bring back fresh produce from the farmers market. We love that we have a charcoal grill onsite and are able to eat healthy even while on vacation. Elio and Darlene are fantastic hosts, very knowledgeable and always around whenever we needed anything. We highly recommend this condo and look forward to our return next February.

A fantastic trip from an excellent home base

My fiancee, myself, and her adult son rented Bruce's condo for a week in January of 2015.

POSITIVES. Akumal is a delightful, small resort town, with an uncrowded, laid-back feel. We felt very safe and really enjoyed a couple of the restaurants and both the condo's beach and the nearby main hotel beach area. The condo is clean and comfortable, sturdy underneath with built-ins for the master bed itself and the couch-benches in the main living area, but very nice. The living area opens onto a small porch with a hammock and then the pool area with the beach then right ahead. Sunrise in the living area is gorgeous, and the master bedroom has a window-like set of dividers which can be opened to give the master suite a water/sunrise view. Elio and his wife are pleasant and knowledgeable. Our dollar stretched well in this area. We traveled south to Tulum and north twice to Playa del Carmen in our rental car, and basically had a blast. Excellent fun snorkeling, including sea turtles and other marine life.

WOULD HAVE LIKED... So, remembering all the wonderful, positive things we just said, our only minus really was that this is not a place where there is white sand going down into the water allows that easy, barefoot swim. A combination of rock and sea grass means that one needs water shoes. Bruce was very clear about this -- not a surprise. It did make us wish there was, though, just a sandy entry.

This is nonetheless, then, a great property, what seemed to us a great value, and well cared for with good attention both from the owner and from the property manager. You can rent with confidence.

I suppose I should mention that one would probably for sure want a car at this property... there are a couple shops and a restaurant or two in walking distance, but a car made it a great base of operations. We did not have small children with us but there were a few in the unit upstairs who had a great time, and it may be helpful to note that they weren't noisy to us -- thick walls.

Best Yet!

We just returned from 17 days in the Akumal area, 12 of which we stayed in Bruce's #3 condo on the ground floor. First off, Bruce saved our vacation when another lodging option didn't work out. He went above and beyond to help our little family land in his home after dark and last minute. He placed a follow up call the next day primarily to make sure everything was to our liking and that we had settled in OK. He made it very clear with all correspondence that this was of his utmost concern. As for the unit, the ground floor location is the best you could hope for, especially with young children (5 and 7). Open the door and your are at the pool just steps beyond your covered patio, complete with hammock and table/chairs. (Should be noted that only units 1-3 have direct pool/beach access. All other units have to go down the stairs in the front of the unit and then walk around the side) The property sits up about 5 feet above the beach on a sea wall that is filled with sand, palapas, and loungers just beyond the pool, and beyond that you walk down the 3 steps and you are on the beach! The view is breath taking, and the location is literally in the middle of the bay which allows for great privacy, views, and a short walk on the beach to la Buena Vida Restaurant or for items at the local corner store. The unit itself is very nicely upgraded with all travertine flooring, counters, and showers. Both showers are just awesome, and the master is very unique (in a good way) with arches and high window walls. The main bedroom has a collapsible wooden panel (Very common in the area) that opens to the living room which provides an excellent ocean view from this area accordingly. The kitchen has granite counters, an island counter with a breakfast bar, and is well equipped. AC in both bedrooms and ceiling fans throughout make it the perfect temp, but you rarely need AC this time of year in Akumal as the trades blow almost all the time. We have been traveling to Akumal for about 9 years now and we have stayed in this area (Half Moon Bay) and a couple bays up in Aventuras Akumal which have private homes, and I have finally found where I will be continually coming back to. Unit #3 is just perfect for a family (or anyone really) and we can't wait to come back next year! Thank you again Bruce!

Close to the Tulum Ruins and Coba Ruins. Take the ferry to Cozumel rom Playa del Carmen, a 20 minute drive. Dive with the turtles with the Akumal Dive Shop and snorkel in the Aquarium like Yal Ku Lagoon, a 10 minute walk from you condo.
