A stunning Pleasant Beach setting, just steps to the sandy beach, lively shops and restaurants with four bedrooms (including three master suites)!
Welcome to the “Gold Coast” of Bainbridge Island. Our home is west-facing and just literally steps to the sandy Puget Sound beach. Summer in Seattle is generally quite spectacular, with long days of sunshine, warm temperatures and little or no rain. Our home is located right on the water with the beach literally at your feet. You may be unaware that the east side of the Island (Seattle-side) can be quite cool anytime of the year, as it is mostly shaded in the afternoon by the tall trees and Island hills and subject to the north-easterly breeze in the summertime. By contrast, the west side of the Island is drenched in abundant summertime sunshine and is sheltered from the afternoon winds.
Sit on our deck with a drink in hand and marvel at the tranquility, the beauty and the ever-changing waterfront scenery as boats and wildlife pass by. Go for a beach walk, where you might spot deer on the beach, eagles diving for fish, harbor seals and even sea lions. Swim, fish, wade or snorkel in the shallow waters. Use our two kayaks to explore the coastline - or, try our Stand Up Paddleboards (SUPs) . Enjoy a dessert wine by the evening campfire of our beach-side fire pit watching the stars twinkling overhead and the moonbeams dancing off the water. Of course you can always enjoy a water-side barbecue or relax anytime on our large deck. Every luxury, need and convenience is found at our Pleasant Beach Villa!
If you want to get out of the house, we are located just a short stroll next to the lively and quaint Lynwood Center. At Lynwood Center you will find five restaurants, one of the Islands most popular pubs with local micro-brews on tap, a movie theater, a frozen yogurt shop, a wine bar featuring many European wines, a massage/spa facility, a hairstylist, a bakery with daily fresh selections, a grocery store, a music and guitar shop and other shopping experiences.
Enjoy cooking in our gourmet kitchen and eating outside (weather permitting), or not. Everything from a morning latte, fresh bread and rolls, full breakfast, lunch, happy hour and dinner is a just a short stroll away. If there's a better location on the Island, we haven't found it yet!
Our Pleasant Beach Villa was constructed in 2011 and is built just steps from the water. At night you can lay awake in bed in any of the three waterside bedrooms with the fully-screened windows open and listen to the waves lapping the beach. Or, if it’s a chilly night, snuggle up to the fireplace in the master bedroom.
The double eight foot entry French doors open to a Carrara marble foyer with a striking view all the way to the water. The open floor plan carries you past the formal dining room, the gourmet kitchen and the breakfast/lunch nook into the living room with its soaring, 18-foot, boxed beam ceiling and 18-foot slate stone fireplace. Extensive amounts of hardwood, including Brazilian cherry, plus marble and slate cover the floors. The main floor also includes a utility room which contains a washer and dryer and granite-covered counter tops.
Completing the downstairs main floor is one guest bedroom with a queen-size bed, its own double French door access to the deck and its own en suite bathroom and walk-in closet. The bathroom includes a dual shower-head shower, floor-to-ceiling marble and granite shower walls and a double sink, marble vanity. The kitchen is modern, with granite counter tops a kitchen island and all-stainless steel appliances. Furnished appliances include juice squeezer, espresso machine, coffee maker, double-oven, microwave, gas cook top, dishwasher, instant-hot water dispenser, reverse osmosis drinking water faucet and garbage disposal.
We have a reverse osmosis drinking water system because the high mineral content of Island water may be distasteful (as one of the reviews for property #465334 can attest), since all Island water is well-based. With our reverse osmosis system, you are assured copious amounts of sweet, pure drinking water to drink directly or fill your water bottles.
The house also has central air conditioning and central heat. While it is a rare day in Seattle when A/C is needed, it is very nice to have for the two or three weeks of hot weather that we can get every summer!
All en suite bathrooms have heated tile floors and a hot water re-circulation loop that delivers instant hot water to every faucet. There is a 56” television in the living room. Of course the house has WI-Fi throughout, plus most rooms are hard-wired with Cat-5 Ethernet cable for even faster speeds.
The upstairs floor contains the master bedroom furnished with a king-size bed and with its own en suite bathroom and walk-in closet. The master bedroom has double French doors that open to its own spacious balcony overlooking the water and a private gas fireplace. The master bathroom is finished in marble and includes a two-person shower and jetted tub. There are two other bedrooms located on the second floor at the opposite end of the house for maximal privacy. Bedroom #3 comes with a queen-size bed and its own en suite bathroom with dual vanities, a walk-in closet and double French door access to its own private balcony. Bedroom #4 has a queen size bed and its own private bathroom with a tub. All bathrooms in the house are finished in marble, granite and/or limestone. Completing the upper floor is the piano room, another utility room with a second washer and dryer and a workout room furnished with a Soloflex, dumbbells and an elliptical machine.
Our guide book details the many restaurants, wineries, the local brewery and distillery, hikes, parks, shops and other fun and interesting things to do on Bainbridge and nearby. The house is in a residential beach-side community about 7 minutes by car to the ferry terminal. As Bainbridge Island is an actual island, all trips into Seattle are by ferry, which is a 35 minute ride. The ferries accommodate vehicles and walk-on passengers, so a car can also be driven onto the ferry. Washington State operates the largest ferry system in the US. Traveling by ferry is a unique and wonderful experience and a great way to see the surroundings from the water. When leaving the Island to go to Seattle, you arrive at the ferry terminal in the heart of Seattle's waterfront, so it is very convenient to ride the ferry to Seattle and walk to the shops, restaurants, sports stadiums, theaters, etc.
The house is furnished with extensive art work and is warm and inviting. There is absolutely no way you will be disappointed with either the location, the setting or the house! Bainbridge Island was rated the number two most desirable city in the US by Money Magazine several years ago. There is always the risk that you will fall in love with Bainbridge and want to move here yourself, like so many of us have done!
Please note that the house is offered strictly as a vacation rental and not a party or event house. If you are visiting Bainbridge Island and you looking for a beautiful, relaxing, tranquil waterfront setting, this is the place for you. Also, as noted above, the house has three bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms (one with king bed and two with queen beds, plus a fourth bedroom with a queen bed, so the house comfortably accommodates four couples. We have a strict limit of eight people (adults plus children) maximum, so if your group size exceeds eight, this house is not suitable.
If you are visiting Bainbridge Island for a wedding, our home is conveniently across the street from the Manor House and a five minute drive to IslandWood, which are popular for wedding venues.
- Jill and Henry
Jill and Henry are retired and enjoy boating and traveling. We spend the winters in Arizona and the summers on our live-aboard boat.
Henry Warner purchased this house in 2011
Gorgeous setting, peaceful, tranquil. Close to everything. We custom-built this house in 2011, so it is rather new and furnished with many conveniences. We especially like the instant-hot water feature. There is never any waiting for the shower water to heat up!
One never gets tired of the waterfront views and activities! Old Chinese proverb: He who lives on the water lives twice.
We rented this home for our family during the week of our son's wedding. We had lots of projects to finish and loved having space that worked well for gathering and spending time together, as well as organizing for all the wedding activities. We arranged flowers on the front stoop, wrapped candles in vines and birch bark in the utility room, ironed wrinkles out of bridesmaid dresses in the laundry rooms and worked out seating arrangements on the table next to the kitchen. Our oldest, the groom, even found time for a wedding day work-out in the upstairs home gym.
The view of Puget Sound with Washington State ferries passing nearby was absolutely spectacular. We saw eagles every day and loved watching the landscape change hour by hour with the tides. This was the perfect place for us to call home for a very important and memorable week in our lives. The owners were super nice and did a great job communicating with us, before and after our stay. We can't wait to come back again, only next time, it will hopefully be to enjoy a week of rest and relaxation!
The house is fantastic but the view it truly incredible! All rooms on the back of the house have a jaw dropping view of the Puget Sound. From the moment you walk in the front door all you'll be able to do is stare at the gorgeousness outside. From the house you can see the Bremerton ferry go back and forth to Seattle and, I must say, the view of it at night is majestic! The house has everything you need to stay in and cook but it is also literally within feet of several outstanding restaurants. While we did make coffee at the house, a few of us also took a daily stroll to The Marketplace for some "fancy" coffee. We also mostly cooked in but did enjoy Father's Day brunch at The Manor House, dinner one night at the Treehouse and also The Beach House.
This is the 11th year my husband and I have traveled with our extended family to see a new (to us) area of the country and I've never worked with someone as hand's on and personable as Henry. He was always available to answer any questions I had and Jill called the morning after we arrived to ensure everything was working and to answer any questions we may have had. The information packet they send to their guests is fantastic and the bottle of local wine they left as a welcome goodie did not last long.
Honestly, I hate to write such a glowing review as that means I'll have more competition when we try to book it again. I truly cannot say enough wonderful things about this place. We've been home several days now and I'm still having withdrawals from that view!!
This property has it all......Beautifully furnished, top of the line amenities and a view that is stunning. The beds were comfortable and each room felt like being at a five star Hotel. We were here for a wedding which was conveniently located in the village across the street. All the people in Lynwood center were extremely friendly and made us feel at home. Would definitely recommend this property for any occasion or just a beautiful getaway.
Such a gorgeous home in every way and we were so pleased you shared it with us. Elegance everywhere, top of the line accessories in the kitchen, tasteful furnishings...everything needed was provided. The four bedrooms were quality throughout and tastefully done with a view and a private bath for each. We had a few good cooks in our group and there was a pot, bowl or utensil for whatever they needed. The kayaks were fun for young and older in the sheltered bay out front. The close-by convenience of Lynwood Center, restaurants and shops near the house was a bonus, but in the house or on the beach you would never know you were on the edge of the village. This was a special time for me at age 87 to spend quality time with my kids and a few grandkids and we all had a great time in the luxury of your lovely home. All in all a wonderful stay. We will be back.
Everyone came from the east coast for my daughter's wedding and everyone was impressed with the Pleasant Beach area... the village, the shops, the restaurants, the people, the weather and the Island. Those in the family that stayed with us for the week had a special treat... this home. The setting is as spectacular as the interior...spacious, breathtaking and private all at once! Nothing has been overlooked and everything is immaculate. We certainly plan on coming back. (A word of caution...you don't have to get married to enjoy this experience although you might just fall in love !)
This home is beautifully situated on Puget Sound on Bainbridge Island. The room has ample, comfortable room for gathering, meals and enjoying the outside. The four bedrooms have comfortable beds, private bath accomodations and three have views of the water. Henry was incredibly helpful in preparing us for the visit - including suggestions for dining, sightseeing and getting around. The house guidebook really made it easy for us to settle in comfortably. My kids and grandkids had fun in the kayaks and we made s’mores by the campfire at night. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare meals, you can travel light because of the washer/dryers and there is plenty to keep you busy!
We rented a car for side trips but walked on the ferry to get to Seattle. It is an easy walk to get to Pike’s Place and not too far to get to the monorail to get to the needle, EMP and Chihuly gardens. It was a holiday weekend and we experienced some delays the day we took the car to the Boeing plant but overall, the ferry was great fun.
One note for those traveling with kids - several of the restaurants do not allow people under 21 in the evening so plan accordingly. Fortunately the Treehouse has an area - and the food is very good.
This was a great way for us to experience both Seattle and nature and Henry and Jill are extremely accomodating hosts.
Steps from the quaint, picturesque Lynwood Center with three restaurants, movie theater, music shop, hair dresser, grocery store, bar/pub, wine bar, frozen yogurt shop, massage spa, bakery and shops.
