Why Derek Gibson chose Saint-Palais-sur-Mer
The villa is in a marvellous holiday spot which our three children and now our three grandchildren much enjoy. This is why we recommand our holiday home for families with children.

KE-A-Ko in St. Palais
For the second year in a row we rented this lovely little house close to the beach and st Palais.
it is a well equipped and comfortable with a location that just can't be beat! The proprietors are wonderful. We look forward to our next stay.
Although the location of the villa was superb - only 2 minutes walk to the beach - we were a little disappointed with the accommodation. The villa had a horrible damp smell and it needed a thorough clean. The cooker hood for example had probably never been cleaned and we had to clean out the shower trap which was full of hair. It would have been nice to know that there was a barbecue for our use also as we only knew there was one available when reading other reviews on our return. It would also have been handy (for UK visitors) to know to bring square pillow cases.
All in all, we had a nice holiday, St Palais is lovely and with a little TLC the villa could be too.
We always do our best to ensure the villa is as clean as possible, including cleaning the shower trap and the range hood - our apologies! However the villa had been unoccupied for 4 weeks before the arrival of the above guests whereas at the beginning of the season we had, as usual, spent a few days there ourselves using the heating (necessary at the seaside at the start of the season). No doubt this is why the villa appeared slightly damp. At all events we have noted that it would be useful to indicate for UK visitors that they should bring square pillow cases.
Lovely little house in a fantastic location
My wife and I had a fantastic time at Villa 'Ke A ko' with my teenage daughter and her friend. It is a lovely little two bedroom house in a great location. 50m from the beach and a 10 minute walk on the coastal path to the town of Saint Palais Sur Mer. The owners daughter met us on arrival and was very helpful. We hope to return to Saint Palais sometime soon and wouldn't hesitate booking to stay at 'Ke A Ko' again.
Many thanks for your comments. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay so much.
A lovely house, tucked away near the beach.
Ke a ko was delightfull ! The location is amazing, so close to the beach and to st palais with all its charms.a comfortable and well equiped house.
My husband and I spent 2 memorable weeks and look forward to our next stay.
So glad you enjoyed your holiday. We will look forward to seeing again next year!
We have stayed there as a small family (2 adults, 1 child) for three weeks (for the second time) and it is the ideal spot to explore the area, especially by bike. The house is quite small but sufficiently equipped (including a washing machine and TV), and there is a small yard to sit outside. The hosts are extremely nice and welcoming and arranged for early/late arrival. The location is unmatched. The beach is just down the street in a very quiet, yet in walking distance to Saint Palais centre with a great bakery, a daily market and cafés, everything you need. I would certainly recommend it to somebody who looks for a simple, yet very convenient place.
We are so glad you enjoyed your holiday; many thanks for your kind comments.
St palais sur mer
J ai été déçu maison très humide la literie pas bonne
Il s'agit d'une petite villa de bord de mer très agréable et tranquille avec une bonne literie. Des travaux cet automne ont réglé le problème signalé par ce visiteur.
The villa is 50 yards from our quiet beach, plage du Platin, in a protected area of St. Palais with no through traffic. The town is 4 miles north of Royan in Charente Maritime and 50 miles south of La Rochelle; the largest European Zoo at La Palmyre is 6 miles away. The Bordeaux vineyards can be reached by car-ferry from Royan (the crossing takes about 15 minutes). St. Palais is an ideal small holiday resort for children with its main beach, our much quieter beach just below the villa and many miles of bicycle paths through the forest.
