A relaxing, elegant, and peaceful retreat from the stresses of life.
On the property, you can share a fresh cup of coffee on the front lanai with a 220 degree view of the ocean and migrating whales, a midnight stroll down the moon lit driveway of 75 Royal Palms towering 60 feet in the starlit sky, swimming in the 50, 000 gallon infinity edge pool overlooking the ocean, sunning on the pool deck, relaxing in the pool lanai or swim up bar, enjoying a jacuzzi next to the 8 foot waterfall, watching a movie or sporting event on the 16 foot theatre screen, or playing a game of pool.
I have been renting properties thru VRBO for years, but this was the best ever! The property is pristine. The views are spectacular. There were rainbows everyday. My family and I loved the layout of the house...huge kitchen, 4 master bedrooms, a theater room, the hot tub and the pool. My daughter enjoyed staying in the 5th bedroom which is right next to the pool. Each day we would pick fresh fruit on the property. In the evenings we'd sit on the lanai and enjoy the serenity. I would be remissed if I didn't mention the property manager, Joe. He checked on us everyday. At first I thought of him as our own private concierge, but I soon came to think of him as a member of our family who just happened to live in Hawaii. Our entire vacation was spectacular. There were 7 of us and everyone complimented me on my choice of this place!
Royal Palms Estate is a lovely, very private home north of Hilo with its own fruit orchard on site. We had fresh juice every morning, enjoyed the spectacular view of the ocean and had plenty of room for our family of six to spread out. If you want non-stop sunshine and a beach, this is not the place for you. If you want to get a feel for the "real" Hawai'i, see beautiful waterfalls, explore Volcanoes National Park and learn some history of the Big Island, this is a great home base.
If you like crowded condo's & beaches and lots of people this is NOT the place for you. If you like privacy with every amenity you could want then this IS the place for you. Can't say enough about the beautiful property with all the fruit trees and magnificent view looking out at the ocean. Bedrooms were large with huge showers. There were 8 of us and I did not hear a single complaint about anything. You also get Joe, the property manager, who can fill you in on the best places to go on the island for most any activity. Can't see how anyone could be disappointed with a stay at this property.
My family had a fantastic stay at this property/house. Lots of privacy, beautiful scenery and views - loved the sunsets and ocean view. My entire family loved the infinity pool - very refreshing and fun. Tons of space in all the rooms and in the main house where dining, kitchen, entertainment area was located. All amenities worked great (pool, hot tob, appliances). This location was situated perfect for exploring this side of the Island, going on tours/activities as well as getting to stores for various needs (food, shopping, etc). Property managers (Joe and Michelle) were fantastic! Joe really went out of his way to give all the particulars on where to go and what to see and how to get there - friendly, professional and easy to deal with. We highly recommend this property for your vacation on the Big Island!!
We had a family of 9 stay for 10 days at the house. The 14 acre setting was very private (which we like) and the ocean views were phenomenal. Plenty of room in the house and the accomodations themselves were excellent. Everything was in great working condition (pool, hot tub, appliances). We ended up staying put in the house more than venturing out. The property managers (Joe and Michelle) were exceptionally good as compared to other VRBO's that we have rented over the years. They went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed and were excellent source of information about the island and things to do, including beaches. Very friendly and professional. The location of the house worked out good for us in that we were within 30 minutes to Hilo and just over an hour to the Kona side of the island.
Secluded sprawling retreat of 13 acres containing an overwhelming number of fruit trees, exotic foliage, and species of palms. Nearby there are multiple waterfalls, hiking trails, surfing spots, volcano, golf, and shopping.
