What a nice, peaceful place for a family getaway. Owasco Lake is one of the more undiscovered finger lakes, so if it's a little R&R you are looking for, this is the spot. It is very clean and great for swimming and water activities, not to mention the excellent fishing! Use the rowboat on site, fish off the dock, bring your own boat or rent a motorboat from a nearby marina. You are sure to catch perch, bass, pike, trout, and maybe some walleye. The level beachfront, along with a gradual walk into the water, make this property perfect for people of all ages!
This early 1900's cottage has undergone extensive renovation. It is been freshly painted and new flooring (ceramic tile, wood laminate, and carpet) installed throughout. All new appliances, furnishings, an updated kitchen and two new bathrooms give this home a nice fresh feel. Enjoy breathtaking views of the lake from the enclosed porch, which runs the length of the house or the spacious lakeside deck with comfy dining and lounge furniture. Sit back, relax and watch the kids and family enjoy the water right from the deck.

We are both teachers in the area and are easy to get in touch with, especially in summer during your stay. We live fairly close to the cottage so whatever you need we are right here!
Christine Izzo purchased this cottage in 2004
We loved the character of the cottage and worked hard to keep it during our renovation. There is original wainscoting and woodwork. It has a New England feel to it. We also were happy that it was level for our small children at the time with a nice gradual walk out into the water. We could easily watch them play in the water while lounging on the deck. It's also only minutes to the city of Auburn, so very convenient!
Convenient to town and no stairs, cliffs or seawalls which are common on the finger lakes.
My girlfriend and I stayed at Tom and Christine's place for a week. It's a reasonably convenient place to stay for a Finger Lakes adventure. We spent our time touring wineries on other lakes and going back and forth between Ithaca. Ithaca, as well as the areas we visited for wineries, were about an hours drive. I'm sure there are closer wineries as well, but the big clusters are on other lakes.
The place itself is 4 small bedrooms. It's cozy and had everything we needed to cook, enjoy the lake front, etc. We particularly liked the bonfire pit being directly in front of the water, great for roasting marshmallows, bundled up, looking as the waves roll in and out.
The only thing that gave me pause with the reservation was that electronic payments weren't setup. I was really uncomfortable sending a check for the rental amount and the security deposit, but took a leap and did so. Received a check back for the security deposit, so my worries were allayed, but still, shouldn't be a big issue to setup safer payments through this site or airbnb.
That said, great hosts, cozy place, lots of bedrooms, and right on the lake. Hard to beat it for the off-season price :)
My sister and her husband, my nephew and his wife, and my wife and I stayed in the cottage the rental week of 26 July 2014. It is well maintained, and easily accommodated six people. It has four bedrooms, so it could accommodate more people. The owners are fantastic. They are easy to find, very cooperative and did everything in their power to ensure that we had a good visit. It was a great trip and an excellent vacation. Thank you.
