About Stephen Litchfield
Our family currently resides on the coast of South Carolina. While we truly enjoy the Lowcountry with the water and beach we do love our time on Beech Mountain when we get a chance to head up there. Our kids love playing in the creek outside and seeing all the wildlife on the mountain. With all the activities on the mountain there is plenty to keep everyone entertained.
Stephen Litchfield purchased this Cabin in 2013
Why Stephen Litchfield chose Beech Mountain
If elevation is your desire, then this is the place! Beech Mountain is the highest incorporated town east of the Mississippi. Being less than a mile from the ski slopes was important as was the unique location of the house. We wanted to have as much snow as possible and found the perfect home.
What makes this Cabin unique
You want to choose our property if peace and tranquility are important to you. One of our favorite features of the house is the creek. It is usually rolling with water from mountain run off and there is nothing more peaceful than sitting on the deck or by the fire pit listening to it. The children love turning over rocks looking for salamanders, crawfish, etc. We also fell in love with the wildlife and nature surrounding us. Its amazing what you will see just while watching out the window.

Nice home, but for the price only 1 of 4 smart TVs worked.
For the price for the house, one would hope TVs would work for a big family at bed time. When we requested a small compensation for the inconvenience and lack of assistance, we never got a response. The house was very pretty and convenient to the resort, just sad it didn’t include all that said was included.
Enjoyable stay at this cozy clean vacation home. It rained most of our stay, no problem....we played games, watched movies and slept in. Just what the doctor ordered. We will definitely stay here again next time.
2nd stay, perfect as usual
We had such a great time at the place. The setup is perfect with a nice stream next to the fire pit. The place is so well maintained and the owners have thought of everything. They are super responsive and flexible. We will def. be back!
This was our second visit to this quaint cabin. We had an amazing time and hope to return very soon!
A fantastic mountain vacation!
A charming, comfortable cabin in the woods! The home was well stocked with everything we could possibly need, including fun toys for our little ones! We especially loved being able to listen to the creek while sitting outside.
Close drive to Lake Coffey
Lake Coffey is one of Beech Mountain’s signature neighborhood parks nestled off of Lakeledge Rd. Lake coffey is a great place to fish as it is stocked regularly with mountain trout. Coffey park is also a great place for exercise with its ¼ mile walking track around the lake, basketball court, and of course since it serves as the junction point for Beech Mountain’s premier upper and lower pond creek trails. You can enjoy an entire day at this wonderful park!
3.5 miles to Buckeye Recreation Center and Buckeye Lake
The Buckeye Lake Recreation Area is a 60+ acre recreation preserve that includes the 23,000 sq. ft. Buckeye Recreation Center, playground, falls hiking trail, a large picnic pavilion, non-motorized boat dock, numerous fishing access points, and a community bonfire pit.
Beech Community Sledding Hill
Beech Mountain is home to the High Country’s only free, publicly maintained and groomed (complete with artificial snow making) community sledding hill. The sledding hill park opens Thanksgiving weekend, weather permitting and remains open through the first of march, again weather permitting. Located atop Beech Mountain neighboring the Town Hall and Chamber of Commerce/Visitors Center, you are sure to enjoy this wonderful winter park complete with holiday music and lots of winter cheer! Please note, the sledding hill is for children under 12 years old, closes at dark, and we ask that you only use plastic sleds.
