Great Place to Get Away from It All
If you're looking for a place to disconnect from the busy-ness of the world, this is it. Quiet and serene, beautiful land, this is a nice and relaxing place to stay with family and/or friends.
Log cabin retreat
Our family of six stayed there over the weekend. It is situated in a beautiful, peaceful setting. I'm glad we didn't have a car to navigate the rocky & somewhat rough road to get there. The log cabin itself is wonderful. A little musty smelling, but nothing you can't get used to. The cabin had everything we needed & more. Our two year old granddaughter loved the rocking horse, books, the frog on the porch & the boat ride on the lake. Our girls are already planning to stay there again & go on the wine trail in Hermann this fall. Overall it was a perfect family get away. Thanks for sharing your cabin with us!
Another great stay
This was our 3rd visit. We enjoy the solitude of the cabin and the location works well for visiting our favorite places.
Really good overall; couple changes could make it great
Very pleased with the hosts and the cabin. It's certainly different from staying in downtown Hermann, and thus was a nice break from the commercial and busy aspects elsewhere. Really loved sitting on the porch; surprisingly few bugs, though I would suggest guests bring a fan and extension cord, as there's no power outside that I could locate. Especially in summertime, it makes the porch more usable, and sitting out there is one of the best parts of the property as the view is gooooorgeous. Two things I'd improve are A) the ridiculous shower situation. There's gotta be a way to lower that tub so an average size person (I'm only 6ft) doesn't have to stoop under the shower head, and the tub base could be more stable, since it teeters a bit. B) I was going to mention that more lighting would be nice, though if you turn 'all' the lights on in the kitchen dining and above the living room, it's sufficient. Cabin is really solid ; fun and interesting experience.
My friends and I had a blast here -- a great cabin for a weekend away to enjoy some good food, company, board games, etc. Hermann was also a really nice town to spend an afternoon exploring!
Overall great experience. Little troyble with keypad for entering property but Diana was easy to contact via text message. Sign as you turn from highway needs to be larger or placed differently, drove by first time. Would definitely come back and bring family.
Located is the town of Swiss, MO just 12 miles South of Hermann, MO.
