Overview

About the property

6 Bedrooms, Sleeps 14, Infinity Edge Pool, Hot Tub/spa, Max Dock, Fire Pit

Book now to enjoy the wonderful weather and amazing views at Lake Oconee. Swim in the beautiful blue infinity edge pool, sunbathe in one of the comfortable lounges in front of the pool, curl up in a cozy chair with a good book, take a walk around the property to enjoy the beatiful views and lush landscaping, or take a boat ride on the sparkling lake water!

This timber framed lakehouse currently has over 5,800 square feet of heated space and 10,000 square feet under roof. The home was 4 years in the planning/building process in order to ensure a wonderful openness and flow for families and/or business leaders to be able to make lifelong memories and enjoy time together. Construction was completed August of 2012. While it does have an open floor plan and many seating areas in which to visit, it also has private areas for rest and reflection. Beautifully perched above serene Lake Oconee, the house nestles into naturalized landscaping and has outdoor 'rooms'. The view is spectacular from dawn to dusk, whether you enjoy gazing off the back patio from your rocking chair, or sitting with a cup of coffee on the screened in back porch. There is a crystal clear infinity edge pool with a shallow wading area for adults to play with their toddlers and deep end for the good swimmers in the crowd. A heated spa is a great way to relax before turning in for the night. For those with a more active time in mind, a ping pong table seems to bring out the competitive side of people, while there is also fishing off the dock. The house is on a beautiful point lot, which provides spectacular views from every window. Here inside Reynolds Lake Oconee there is a world class golf community, which boasts 6 courses, 2 of which have hosted the PGA tour, and several 5 star restaurants as well as the nearby Ritz Carlton, a world class resort. Here is a trivia fact for you--did you know that country music artist Carrie Underwood had her wedding at the Ritz Carlton here on Lake Oconee?!

As you drive down the driveway and the house comes into view, you are greeted by the golden tones of the cedar and cypress house and the lush green of the naturalized landscaping. Rocks and stonework accent the yard and mark the paths around the house.

As you walk up to the front door, your eyes wander across the great room to the glistening infinity pool that blends into the lake beyond. The main floor has a spectacular masonry fire place with seating around it, a study behind the fireplace has a 55 inch hd tv screen that disappears into a cabinet with a very comfortable, sectional sofa. The spacious, fully equipped kitchen is designed to cook for a large number of guests as it has an island with a sink for prep work as well as the main kitchen sink, a dishwasher, two garbage disposals, a separate high capacity ice maker, and wine cooler. The large built-in refrigerator, six burner gas stove with a griddle and two ovens with a warming drawer make for a chef's dream. Kitchen utensils, plenty of glassware and dish ware make preparing for families a breeze. A cozy keeping room with a gas fireplace is right off the kitchen. It's a great place to warm up with a cup of coffee or hot tea in the morning. A pantry is directly off the kitchen which contains a second refrigerator and plenty of storage space and shelves for groceries to feed large families and their friends. A laundry room with a front loader washer and dryer is next to the pantry and a home office is also right down the hall for your convenience. Linens and towels are provided for your stay. The master bedroom is located just down the hall on the main floor. It has a spectacular view of the lake and was designed with a spa feel to it. Pebbles were placed around a free standing spa tub and also in the shower. A spacious master closet completes the master suite.

The basement bedroom is very serene and private with a king size bed. The bathroom for this suite has a very large shower with a built in marble seat for ease in showering. The basement has a family room with a ping pong table. On the east wing of the upper level, there are two bedrooms with a full bath. One of these bedrooms opens up onto a deck with a fabulous view of the pool, lake and dock below.

On the west wing of the upper level, the other bedroom also has a wonderful view of the lake. Its bathroom has carrerra marble throughout. As you walk out of this bedroom and turn right, you will walk into the family bunk room, which features four twin beds and is perfect for providing a large family with plenty of beds for its youngsters to bunk up together. The upstairs hall, open to the great room features a wondeful nook, perfect for children to play, and relaxing chairs overlooking the great room for you to curl up with a book or newspaper and relax with fabulous views of the lake.

Bedrooms:

-master bedroom main floor...King size bed, full bath

-upper level bedroom...Queen bed, full bath

-upper level bunk room...4 twin beds

-powder rooms (1/2 bath) are located on both the main floor and lower level

The house is very well equipped with pool towels, towels, blankets, kitchen utensils, glass cookware, blender, food processor, coffee pot, tableware, etc.

There is a marina just a few hundred yards to the left of the lakehouse where boats/watercraft/kayaks can be rented. Other rental sites are in the area as well. There is a large tube available at the house and several rafts for the pool. The pool is an infinity-edge pool that can be heated (optional with additional fee) with built-in spa and a wonderful ledge, perfect for children to play or for you to relax in your lounge chair while still feeling the cool water.

This is an amazing house for family reunions, a multiple family vacation, off-site meetings, or corporate retreats and small weddings. The large farm table in the kitchen seats ten people and could be used for conferencing as well as dining. The large back stone patio can accommodate large numbers of people and there are two stone terraces with two propane grills and Big Green Egg smoker. A large lawn area lies directly next to the lake for gatherings and plenty of family fun.

Many events have already been held at this house and the comment we always get is how at home and comfortable people feel when they're here. This house was built for relaxation and to create great memories!

We do not accomodate pets and there is also no smoking allowed on the premises.

There is a grocery store (publix), less than ten minutes away. In the same shopping village there is a movie theater, several restaurants and boutique shops.

Children welcome...Sleeps 14!

Absolutely Breathtaking!

  • 5 of 5

My company rented this house to entertain customers during Masters week. The house is absolutely breathtaking with a gorgeous view of the lake. As soon as you walk there is a stunning view of the lake from the living room with a beautiful stone fireplace. It was very spacious with a cozy feel. The woodwork and detail of this home is remarkable. Cindy, the home owner, was so wonderful to work with and always responded promptly and was available during our stay to help answer any of our questions. We will definitely be back to stay again!

Breath Taking!

  • 4 of 5

Our stay was absolutely wonderful! The place was beautiful and the view was breath taking. Everyone in our party enjoyed themselves and didn't want to leave.

My only recommendation would be to have the screened porch cleaned more often.

Thank you Cindy for a very relaxing vacation!

Owner's Response: So glad that you all enjoyed the house, property and the view. You all came at a beautiful time of year when the azaleas and dogwoods are blooming in Georgia...but it also makes for lots of pollen. We clean and hose down the outdoor furniture and screened in porch right before guests start coming in, but unfortunately it continues to fall until around the end of April. We look forward to you coming back soon. Thank you so much!

Pretty but had problems

  • 3 of 5

The house is very good looking; one of the prettiest on the lake in our opinion. The flow of the house is nice and worked well, though we only had 5 people. We chose this larger-than-we-needed house for 2 reasons: location and the pool/spa. The location is great for access to town, the Ritz and golf. Unfortunately, we tried to heat up the spa within the first 30 minutes of our arrival and we followed the directions meticulously. We advised the owner immediately that it was not heating up. The heater never worked throughout our entire stay, rendering the pool/spa pretty much useless (chilly April nights kept both freezing). We understand that these things are temperamental, but the owner didn't get anyone out to fix it during our entire stay. It seems to us that a house this expensive should have a property manager or handyman accessible, even if it is a long weekend (and not a holiday). What if the refrigerator breaks? Are we stuck without that as well? It made it a very disappointing experience. The other major thing was the beds. They either need new mattresses or need to turn the existing. They were very lumpy and uncomfortable. They also need new sheets and new pans. So, though there was a lot to like about this house but with a couple major things going wrong, we'll try something else next time.

Owner's Response: Thank you for the feedback concerning our property. Our property is very unique since it is a timber framed lodge located on a property with an expansive view of the lake. Although we are very close to the Ritz Carlton, golf, restaurants, and the local Publix, due to the lush landscaping around our property, it feels very secluded. We work very hard on providing a five star experience for all of our guests. Although our pool heater had been working just prior to this guest's arrival, it decided to go out during their stay, which was only three nights and over a weekend. That doesn't give us much time for a repair. Pool repairmen don't work on the weekends and we had to actually replace the heater. A heater had to be ordered and then installed. That isn't a job for a handyman, which we do have. We have been in business since 2013 and have had occasional issues with things happening over the years, but were able to get repair people in promptly. The guest was offered day passes for the family at the Ritz Carlton, to use their pool, spa, and workout facility, but had already made plans for the day. We have all clad aluminum cookware in our kitchen and have had guests talk about how well stocked with cookware and dishware our kitchen is. As for the other negative comments about our mattresses and sheets, I have never had any other guest make those types of comments. I will just refer to the many other reviews and five star ratings from past guests.

Perfect family vacation place

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time! Our family get-together could not have been better. The view when you walk in the door is unreal. The kitchen is a perfect place for our group of 13 to gather and eat. We enjoyed the many places to "get away" like the keeping room, office/library and reading nook on the crosswalk. We so enjoyed our time outside from kayaking and hot tub to watching sunrises and sunsets. The access to the elevator enabled a few in our party to move through the house with ease. We enjoyed talking to the owners and getting to know them briefly while talking to them over the phone. We would definitely recommend to others and will plan on coming back ourselves in the near future.

Well appointed beautiful HOME. Views and out door spaces were amazing. Super relaxing.

  • 5 of 5

The minute we drove up we loved "the Lodge". It was, not only beautiful, but well designed for our large family to have their own space and privacy; however, gathering areas were spacious and provided ample space for us to prepare and enjoy meals together. I don't know if we have ever stayed in a vacation home when the home owner allowed so much freedom and was was so gracious in sharing supplies and kitchen extras. The outdoor areas , view and access to the lake were tops. Our entire family agreed that the lodge is a fantastic spot and had a wonderful experience. We made many memories together and hope to visit the lodge again and again.
