Enter the calming, open-concept oasis of 12 Stanley Avenue and find yourself surrounded by bright, natural light from the oversized south-facing windows and splashes of color from the mix of mid-century and contemporary furnishings and eclectic art. Gleaming white oak floors flow throughout the space and the combination living-dining room features an Italian marble-top table, perfect for formal dinners or spreading out the newspaper for a casual weekend brunch.
The fully stocked galley kitchen with top-of-the-line appliances is the central hub of the main floor and leads to a cozy nook for relaxing in front of the TV with full cable access. Floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors open to an enclosed deck bathed in afternoon sun.
Upstairs the luxurious surroundings continue, with the exquisite bathroom retreat, complete with heated floors and deep, soaker tub lit from above by an antique crystal candelabra chandelier for the ultimate bubble bath escape. The glass-surround shower stall and its rain-head fixture ensure an invigorating start to the day or a relaxing unwinding at day’s end.
The bathroom leads to an upper deck, shaded on one side by mature trees and offering a western view of spectacular sunsets on the other. Both bedrooms feature inviting, comfortable beds and luxurious linens: a king-sized in the master with windows overlooking Stanley Park, and a queen in the tranquil second bedroom.
An alcove office provides a zen-like private workspace and the basement surprises with its efficient washer-dryer combo and another full-size bathroom with its own soaker tub.

Your hosts John and Nelson have combined their expertise in real estate and set design and their shared love of travel, architecture and “the finer things in life,” to bring you a truly luxurious home-away-from-home. They live a few blocks away, and are always happy to help with anything during your stay. (Fully bilingual, Nelson can be of assistance en francais, too!) These guys were wonderful from beginning to end and I would highly recommend this beautiful house to anyone looking for a centrally located oasis. We were walking distance from everywhere we wanted to be, the house was clean and comfortable and our hosts were beyond helpful. This is "the" place to stay in Toronto!
We had an incredibly wonderful stay. The place was as gorgeous as the pictures were and John was so helpful. During our stay the house smelled a bit smokey but it seemed as if it was a neighbor. It truly was a perfect getaway.
We booked this house to host my family from Mexico as my partner and I got married this August. 12 Stanley became our home away from home, my family had a great time and it was a lovely place with beautiful details all over.
John was a fabulous host and we couldn't not have been happier with our stay.
We will definitely keep this property and host in mind for future events =)
great location, fantastic and generous owners, it was without a doubt, our favourite times of our 2016 family summer vacations.
I have recommended this place to all my friends and family and will certainly come back in the future.
Thanks to John for this unforgettable stay!

We spent three nights in this lovely home with our three young children. The location was fantastic- across the street from a park and an easy walk to public transportation. The kids loved playing at the park as we would return from our day. We had everything we needed at the house- including a pack and play and high chair for our youngest. John was a very attentive host who made sure we had everything we needed. The gift card for the French bakery was a lovely bonus. Their food was fantastic!
We will definitely seek out this home during our next Toronto stay. Thanks for everything!
Our family of five (three kids) found that we had everything we needed for a convenient and comfortable stay in this house. We were originally intending to rent a car for our stay, but found that the location is walking distance to almost everything we wanted to do - including a fun shopping district and downtown Toronto (but the neighborhood still feels quaint and quiet). John treated us to our first breakfast at a charming pastry boutique in the neighborhood, and that became the spot where we enjoyed croissants and capachino every morning before starting on our adventures. After busy days, we all enjoyed coming back to this clean, well appointed, sunny house. The beds are very comfortable, the linens are high quality, and the bathroom was spacious and spa like (a plus for our three daughters!). The owners thought carefully about everything a guest could possibly need in terms of information and amenities and it was all easily accessible and organized.
Easy to give this listing 5 stars.
Overall impression – Neighborhood home centered perfectly near downtown and between the eclectic Queen and King Streets. Home is modern, well decorated, spacious and exceptionally clean. John responds quickly to messages and is very accommodating in providing clear check-in instructions as well as visitor information in advance of arrival. He kindly met us at the home and provided an overview of all the amenities. Deposit was returned within 48 hours.
Location – On a quiet street within walking distance or quick street car access to all the popular Toronto spots. Lots of great restaurants, shopping and drinking establishments nearby. Be sure to visit Kensington Market for a variety of fresh grocery items, restaurants or places to relax with a drink. We enjoyed walking through the several parks close to the home (Pokemon Go hot spots). We felt completely safe walking in the area. Private parking in the back. No need to use your car – ever!
Home - VRBO description and pictures accurately reflect the home and outdoor relaxing patios. The space was ideal for our family of five (adults/young adults). There are two bedrooms upstairs as well as lounge areas on the lower level separated by the kitchen which with two queen futons, converts nicely for divided sleeping areas. The beds were comfortable (firm mattress if that is your liking) with very nice linens and plush towels for the bath. Many large windows bring in natural light (shades for at night). The bath has both a soaker tub and nicely tiled rainfall shower. Plenty of hot water after multiple showers! The kitchen is clean and well stocked for cooking with high end appliances, and bbq grill on the porch, if interested. We enjoyed our morning coffee on the upper and lower deck!
Thank you John for sharing your lively city and beautiful home!
