Upon entering the home your eyes are instantly drawn to the wall to wall windows and sliding glass doors. Plush couches nestled around a gas fireplace and a large flat screen TV invite you inside with a feeling of pure relaxation. To the left you’ll find a kitchen perfect for cooking for a large group. Stainless steel appliances and a marble top island provide the necessities for a home cooked meal. A dining room table fit for a family looks out over the palmettos to maintain a true beach atmosphere.
On the first floor sit five of the six bedrooms in the home, two of which have ocean views and access to the expansive balcony. The bright, beachy colored bedrooms each present a personal flat screen TV and cozy comforters. The balcony spans from one end of the home to the other hosting a table and chairs as well as a cushioned couch and lounger. To the left side of the porch a spiral staircase leads to the private master suite. The spacious top floor suite contains a small living area as well as a king size bed facing the ocean. The large flat screen TV and kitchenette only add to the privacy and luxuriousness of this master bedroom.
Should you feel inclined to hit the beach or the waves, a set of stairs leads from the carport to the ocean. To the right a small grassy area leads you to a private entrance to a large screened in room holding a ping pong table and swinging bench if you feel the need to escape the sun. Located in the carport is your own private outdoor shower to wash away the sand and salt. And no need for the front door, just follow the spiral staircase to the first floor balcony.
In the winter months, snuggle up in front of the fireplace and listen to the waves as they lull you into relaxation mode. In the spring and summer hit the waves during the day and let them sing you to sleep at night. 1407 is the perfect getaway house for a beach vacation any time of the year.

This was our family's third stay at 1407 East Ashley. The whole house is just beautiful! We love the open kitchen, dining, living area with great ocean views. With six bedrooms, everyone has their own private space. With 12 people, this is hard to find! We all enjoy time on the spacious deck with the ocean breeze. A nice long walk on the beach takes you to the pier in town. It is a very short drive to Folly for shopping and dining out in a laid back atmosphere, or you can travel about 10 miles to Charleston with all of its rich history. The property manager and owners do everything they can to assure a relaxing, trouble free stay. I would recommend this house to any large family/group. I hope we can return soon!
Did my Father n laws 80th B Day here family from out of town LOVED IT Kids went nuts
so close to the beach wide open back wall of windows this is the best beach house ive every done always 1st on my list rooms perfect AAA+
The view is absolutely spectacular. Ocean front view from most of the bedrooms, kitchen and living area. Wake up to surfers "hanging ten" or not. The kitchen is well equipped and functional. The house is beautiful, cozy and comfortable. Lots to do there - there's even ping pong and a swing on the lower deck. Thinking about a beach house for summer vacation.
Footsteps from the beach, beautiful balcony views. Plenty of space indoor and out for entertaining! Lots of windows and natural light. Great kitchen. Spacious and with comfortable furnishings, Perfect for a family vacation or big group get together.
I've lived on South Carolina's East Coast for over a decade in Myrtle Beach and Charleston, both big beach vacation towns, and I've seen some outstanding beach houses in that time — this is one of the best. You can't get closer to the ocean without being in the water and the property itself is gorgeous. Charleston and Folly Beach are oases in their own right, but the well-maintained landscaping and crisp and clean decor inside make this a paradise all its own.
The furniture is not brand new and, as another review mentioned, there is a slight lack in amenities like closet space but there is tons of space in the house and on the deck, the furniture is nice and comfortable and you can't beat the view afforded you through the wall of sliding glass doors facing the ocean.
Location has its pros and cons: for quick access to downtown Charleston or any of the surrounding areas around Folly it is not ideal. The house is located almost at the end of the strip and Folly traffic can be brutal any time there's an influx of visitors. However, "Surfer's Paradise" is no misnomer — you'll be hard pressed to get any closer to the best surfing spot on the East Coast, the Washout, and in the off-season you'll have the beach virtually to yourself.
A great property for extended vacation or a quick getaway from the day-to-day if you live in the area. Can't recommend it enough. Cheers.
The most amazing thing is the nearly endless view of the ocean, and the sunrise turning to blue skies is even better! The main level has almost full windows facing the water, and lots and lots of room to spread out and have space, or all come together to hang out in the living area. The porch is very comfortable for intimate, smaller groups, as well as larger groups with space for different groups to gather and network. The stairs were safe and fun to climb down to the sand... which is RIGHT there! No walking down the street or fighting for parking!
