Very nice property and location. The 2nd night Hot water stopped working which unfortunately was the coldest night so far. lol Love the property overall. Good experience. Patio furniture in poor condition but still enjoyed standing around the fire pit. This is 2nd VRBO property we have stayed in and very likely to continue with them.
The location beside the river was very nice, there was a canoe to use. The surroundings were the thing that cought our interest to rent this property.
But at the same time the outdoor was a problem because our choice of the property and the expectations was about to sit outside and for example have cosy BBQ:s. There was a gas grill but no gas, there was a fine fireplace though but we had trouble to get logs. The meat we bought for the grill, did we have to save for the next location on our journey.
At the porch there was two rocking chairs but one was half broken. The fireplace had two chairs but one was completely broken. So we had to stand if we wanted to be outside.
We found a few rods but they weren't maintained, though we could use a few feet line and some hooks so we could tie two fishing rods.
Inside there was plenty of room, furnished nicely, three TVs.
No wifi, that information did we miss, so there was a problem to find other doings. But at the same time it's relaxing to be forced offline.
Hey! We live in a new house with a river behind us and we're still impressed. This is a very nice rental - the photo in the ad doesn't do it justice. The grandsons loved sleeping and playing in the very large loft, and negotiated the complex spiral staircase with ease. The canoe is great, no leaks, and the provided life vests work very well - I know 'cause the grandsons tipped the canoe. The river is a bit cold in December but not lethal. Ok, I'd hoped to show the grandkids alligators but I guess they were hiding out. Maybe the kids are too loud for them. That's one great fire pit in the back too! Anyway, we had a great time and would definitely go back.
This property is absolutely stunning! I had a group of 10 people who stayed comfortably while in Natchitoches. It is relatively close to the down town area.....trips averaged around 12 minutes. Unfortunately we weren't able to take advantage of the elegant backyard overlooking the Cane river due to the weather and a state wide burn ban during our stay. House is well furnished and nicely decorated and the owners were a delight and very helpful. We will definitely stay here next time we are in town.
I'm glad we arrived during the day; it would be difficult to spot at night. Needed some driveway markers with the house number. Our first thought was that we were pulling into the yard and not a driveway. The grounds were clean and had a beautiful view to the river. The weather was cool in the evenings and we enjoyed a fire outside. It would be great for a summer trip to enjoy the river. There's a boat ramp on the property if you bring your own; also have the option of using the canoe available at the house. The inside was small but we had about everything we needed to prepare our meals. Had plenty of hot water for showers in the morning. One of the bed's in the loft was very uncomfortable. It made the start of the day a little stiff and slow. The spiral staircase was cool looking but difficult to maneuver. The only thing I would have wanted different is a bathroom upstairs, wifi, and the refrigerator to have a water line. We didn't have any ice or filtered water. Overall it was a good trip and a short trip to Natchitoches to do some shopping.
This property is the best of the best hands down! The furnishings were beyond expectation, all the amenities you could imagine and then some...not to mention the thank you gift! We had a total of 6 adults and 2 toddlers in the house, plenty of room. The upstairs loft was perfect for the family of 4 (mom & dad w/2 toddlers). It offered not only the beds, but a tv and couch with the privacy they needed for nap & bed time. There is a dock and access to put your boat in the water right there on the property. Lots of room in the back yard. I spent most of my time on the back porch, the view is amazing! You will not be disappointed and we are already making plans to visit this one again! Thank you to the owners for sharing this property and allowing us to stay here! We were truly in awe and cant wait to visit again!
