About Ted Riskin

Fell in love with Asheville, Fairview, and this house, and had to buy it. Renovated it to add the Fairview Vacation Pad. I live downstairs on the main level. On the lower level is the supplemental apartment along with my workspace, which I use for my therapy practice and to offer workshops in Holotropic (and other) Breathwork and Core Energetics. I specialize in couples therapy, so feel free to inquire about possibilities for transforming your relationship while on your vacation.

Why Ted Riskin chose Asheville Area

Asheville is the perfect town - big enough to entertain and feed you well, but small enough to be easily navigable. Fairview is the perfect access point for Asheville - an easy 20 minute drive from almost anywhere in town, but more affordable, cleaner, and more beautiful. The house was built with love and quality by a contractor who moved in with his family after completing it.

What makes this apartment unique

You have a private apartment without being stuck on your own in some cabin in the boonies. You can rent just the main 2 BR apartment, or you can add the downstairs supplemental apartment as well (additional cost is about half of the main apartment). Staying downstairs involves climbing several flights of deck stairs to join the guests in the main apartment.

Wow

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed at this property for a week and we're so happy we chose it. We wanted to visit Asheville for our anniversary, but we also wanted to go to the Dupont Forest, the hot springs, and Biltmore. It took us maybe one hour to two hours to visit the other locations but this place was close to the higways and it was great to come back to. If you're impressed by the pictures, you will love it even more in person. Ted and Jeannine welcomed us and were so accomodating and helpful. We really felt at home. We bought some groceries to cook a few meals during our stay, but the place has everything else you could need. The view is amazing. We would sometimes leave the windows open so we could hear the stream nearby- so calming! And the hot tub- a great thing to come home to after a hike or a long day of walking. We had friends stay over for one night and they were impressed as well. We will definitely consider this place for our next visit to Asheville!

Great Property

  • 5 of 5

Had a great time. The interior is well done. Great hiking just outside the door so no need to drive to walk somewhere. the property is just far enough away from the city to feel secluded and close enough you don't dread getting into the car if needed. Make sure to note that NC sells beer/wine only in grocery stores, all other spirits are only in liquor stores. The hot tub is a great addition after a day of whatever it was you did.

Very accommodating and close to Asheville

  • 5 of 5

The apartment is very clean and the beds are so comfy and and owners are very accommodating to your needs which are few as the place has everything you need. Centrally located to several destinations: Biltmore, NC Arboretum, Mount Mitchel, Asheville shopping. The only thing that could make it more comfortable would be a more comfy /plush couch.

Loved staying at this house!

  • 5 of 5

It was such a treat staying at Ted's house. The house was very well furnished, beds were comfortable and very clean. My favorite part of the house was the kitchen with huge window overlooking the mountains. Location was perfect as we were just 15 min short drive from the downtown Asheville. Ted is also very professional and great communicator. Despite our late arrival (close to midnight) he showed us around the house and gave us space to enjoy our vacation. Overall this house enhanced our time in Asheville, and we would love to come back for our next vacation.
