About Helen Harvey
I love living by the beach in South Fremantle and am lucky enough to also have a small property an hour and a half away where we grow fruit and vegies. I love travelling and have stayed in many people's holiday properties, so I know what works best for our guests. I'm a retired organisational change and development manager and these days call myself a farmer.

We very much enjoyed staying in this accommodation. Very friendly welcome. It was very clean, well equipped and in a good location with shops and restaurants nearby. We particularly liked the pretty and private outside space with bbq. Would stay there again.
Perfect Retreat in Fabulous Freo
The Lilly Pilly garden cottage was the perfect retreat for our 4 week stay in beautiful Fremantle. It is located on a quiet residential street within easy walking distance of all that fascinating "Feo" has to offer: the beach, the architecturally beautiful historic town centre, the weekend market, museums, cafes and waterfront restaurants.
The one bedroom studio was clean, bright, spacious, quiet, comfortable and well equipped for independent living. We really enjoyed barbecuing several of our evening meals on the gas grill and dining on the delightful private patio.
Helen and Michael were wonderful, thoughtful hosts. We arrived late in the day, after a 30 hour door-to-door journey from Canada and were happily surprised to find some fresh breakfast provisions laid in so that we didn't have to immediately do grocery shopping on our first night. We also appreciated Helen's weekly surprises of fresh produce harvested from their farm where she and Michael spent a few days each week during our visit.
The Fremantle/Perth area has a fabulous pathway network that we enjoyed exploring with the the bicycles they generously provided. A day trip on the ferry to Rottnest Island was a very special and memorable cycling experience.
We felt truly “at home” here and look forward to return visits of even longer duration.
The good life in Freo
We couldn't have been happier with our stay at Lilly Pilly House. Such a lovely space, quiet, private, and beautifully presented. Clean as a whistle, with everything you could possibly need. 5 minutes walk to Freo Town Centre (and Gino's cafe!) and with so many other places nearby to enjoy, how can you go wrong? Located in one of Freo's iconic little streets full of characterful houses, we enjoyed the ambience of exploring this lovely little part of the world. We were warmly welcomed by Helen and Michael with a bottle of milk in the fridge, a loaf of lovely local bread, and some fresh fruit from their farm. We were also invited to help ourselves to their vegie patch, which we did for a delicious stir fry. We've been travelling in our little camper for 2 months so it was the perfect break from the road. We hope to be back!
Great to have you both and hope to see you again
South Fremantle is just the best place to be. Two calm beaches, one for dog lovers and the main South Beach. Lots of cafes, a choice of fabulous bakeries, an amazing array of restaurants, huge healthy food shops, book shop, free bus into central Fremantle, great pubs and Fremantle Sailing Club.
Fremantle is a fascinating city and port with many heritage buildings and places to visit, including the Fremantle Markets, Maritime Museum, Shipwreck Museum and Fremantle Arts Centre. The Fishing Boat Harbour is a must visit for fabulous seafood.
There is a free bus 5 minutes' walk away that goes into Fremantle every 10 minutes. From Fremantle there is a regular train service into Perth city. And it's an easy walk to both Fremantle and South Beach.
