About caron mac eoin

I am a New Zealander married to an Irishman, we have lived in France 13 years. I work for Sotheby's Real Estate while Finn, my husband, works for the Savannah School of Art and Design which has a campus here in Lacoste

caron mac eoin purchased this apartment in 2007

Why caron mac eoin chose Lacoste

Lacoste is an authentic Luberon village overlooking the valley that is a picture in all seasons. Close to all amenities and cultural events, yet peaceful. Real French village life. The apartment is private and has a great view.

What makes this apartment unique

Always the view, the light and the authenticity. Lacoste is NOT home to tourist boutiques and buses dropping off their loads for a whistle stop tour. It is gentle and relaxed.

Great location and apartment

Well appointed with everything you might need from hairdryer to clothes washer to first aid kit to kitchen utensils. Comfortable bed. Very central location for traveling around Provence. Pretty medieval town.

Great Apartment in a Beautiful Village

  • 5 of 5

We recently spent a week at Finn and Caron's apartment in Lacoste. The apartment, a renovated stable below the main house, is quaint, charming, comfortable, and has an incredible view from the terrace across the valley to Bonnieux. The kitchen is well equipped should you wish to dine in (we ate all breakfasts and several suppers during the week in the apartment). The apartment has a washer and a drying rack (no drier so plan to allow time for clothes to hang dry if you plan on doing laundry during your stay).

Relax on the terrace with a coffee and watch the sun come up or enjoy a glass of rose after a day of exploring.

Lacoste is a beautiful medieval village. All of it is an easy walk from the apartment. From the Marquis de Sade's old Chateau (now owned by Pierre Cardin) at the top of the hill you have almost a 360 degree view.

Finn met us on arrival and showed us through the apartment. Throughout the week he was a wealth of information about where to visit or where to eat. He was also full of stories about his life and about the surrounding area. Finn is a writer, poet, local historian, and an all around interesting fellow. He was an absolute delight to visit with.

The two restaurants in town, when they are open, are both quite good. There are also lots of cafes in neighbouring villages within a short drive. The pizza truck that sets up in town on Tuesday nights makes pretty decent pizzas.

Lacoste is ideally located in Provence. Marseilles, Aix-en-Provence, and Avignon are all easy day trips. We chose to spend our time exploring Lacoste and surrounding villages, all of which are beautiful.

We have no hesitation recommending this property for its great owners, comfort, amenities, view, and location.

Beautiful little apartment with views across to Bonnieux.

  • 5 of 5

Perfect location to discover the villages in the area. Day trips to Gordes, Roussillon, Menerbes and many others. Always nice to return to the apartment and enjoy the view with a drink or two on the terrace. The hosts Finn and Caron were extremely helpful. Finn's a natural storyteller with a quick wit and kind eye. The apartment had everything we needed, from basics and much more. It's the little things that matter and Caron and Finn provided them in abundance.

The most exquisite accommodation and setting

  • 5 of 5

Finn & Caron are gracious hosts - available when you might need them but otherwise in the background. The accommodation is perfect - instagram quality kitchen, view, everything. Lacoste itself is a charming village, it's the quiet life for a relaxing holiday and central to visit the Luberon.
