I am a New Zealander married to an Irishman, we have lived in France 13 years. I work for Sotheby's Real Estate while Finn, my husband, works for the Savannah School of Art and Design which has a campus here in Lacoste
caron mac eoin purchased this apartment in 2007
Lacoste is an authentic Luberon village overlooking the valley that is a picture in all seasons. Close to all amenities and cultural events, yet peaceful. Real French village life. The apartment is private and has a great view.
Always the view, the light and the authenticity. Lacoste is NOT home to tourist boutiques and buses dropping off their loads for a whistle stop tour. It is gentle and relaxed
This is a charming apartment within the village of Lacoste! There is an amazing view of Bonnieux, and the apartment was well appointed with everything we needed. Caron and Finn were fantastic hosts too !!
We had a delightful time staying in this beatuful, charming and peaceful village. This rental had wonderful views across the valley and hills beyond.
Our worldy hosts Caron and Finn were both delightful, extremely helpful and provided memorable stories of the immediate area and beyond.
Then rental itself was very comfortable, up to date and still maintained the old world character. Location provided easy access to other cities around Provence and easy escape from the madding crowds.
Highly recommend for a comfortable and quiet yet convenient lodging in a wonderful villiage in Provence.

Upon our arrival to Lacoste, we knew immediately we would love this small medieval village. Property owner Finn, met us at the door and was was wonderful with details of the apartment, village, and things to do. The apartment being a former barn for work horses was lovely. It has all the amenities of home and more! The laundry washer was a bonus! Kitchen was well supplied and the bed was awesome! The village has lots of history, lovely views. The place has many hidden treasures ~ we didn't want to leave! Thank you Caron and Finn, you are wonderful hosts!
Caron and Mac have a wonderful one bedroom apartment in Lacoste that has a fabulous terrace with wonderful views over the valley towards Bonnieux. The kitchen has all the supplies needed to prepare meals and a comfortable living area with a TV to watch the DVDs provided by the owners. We spent most evenings on the terrace and often ate our dinners outside as the apartment is in such a beautiful location. The owners also provided plenty of information about the neighbouring villages, bike rentals, recommended restaurants, suggested places to visit, etc., and were always available to answer any questions about the area. It was very quiet in the evening (actually most of the day!) even though the apartment is close to one of the main roads which enter the village.
The only drawback with the village of Lacoste is that one of the two restaurants was only serving lunch in late September when we were there and the other restaurant was closed for the season. Therefore we couldn't walk to a restaurant for dinner but had to drive about 10 minutes to the closest village. There also wasn't a grocery store or bakery in the village so we had to drive to another village to pick up our supplies. However, the village is very centrally located for visiting other Provencal villages within a 10 to 30 minute drive. (Bonnieux, Gordes, Lourmarin, Menerbes, etc.)
Just like all the previous reviews have stated, this apartment is everything you see in the pictures and more. For starters, Finn and Caron couldn't be more pleasant, easygoing. Finn is a wealth of local knowledge and quite a poet, character. The apartment is spotless and well laid out. The terrace view is amazing. Parking can be tough because of few spots, but we managed just fine. The road noise can be loud at times on the terrace, but inside is very quiet. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!
Sometimes when one returns to a place a second time it doesn’t quite live up to the memories and expectations one has of it. However, our second stay at Caron and Finn’s apartment was just as wonderful as the first.
The apartment remains perfectly located for exploring the Luberon. It was again very quiet, very clean, and furnished with everything we needed to be comfortable. Caron and Finn were still the gracious hosts available with information, insights and stories of the area. And the terrace with the amazing view was still a wonderful place to start and end the day ... with a cup or coffee or a glass of wine.
We suggest you come and try this apartment for yourself.
Each village in the area has a market so it is possible to find one on every day of the week, each with it's own character.
Cote du Rhone wine valley is 45 minutes drive away and offers numerous wine tasting vineyards.
