The proximity of this property to all of the best that San Diego has to offer is very compelling. It's location in a historic district above downtown offers easy access to the energy of the city, beaches and airport while offering privacy and easy parking.
Bus transit stops are located in and out of downtown within a half block of property on both sides of Market St. Access to 2 major freeways are located within 1 minute driving to of property.
I grew up in Northampton Massachusetts, a town with countless beautiful old homes and lots of woods. I spent countless days in my youth building tree forts never knowing that those 2 dynamics would intersect at this point. Upon arriving in San Diego with an interest in building and purchasing real estate, I became immediately interested in the largely neglected Victorian buildings in this area of town. This property became a labor of love for me many years ago and I hope that legacy will be carried forward by my 3 sons. My wife if Japanese, so our family often divides our time between 2 very different worlds, both with much to offer.
John Reardon purchased this apartment in 1991
It is our hope that our guests will appreciate the attention to detail and uniqueness of design that has been incorporated into every aspect of this property.
This property is strategically located close to most of San Diego's most popular destinations. It's central location and proximity to a newly revitalized downtown, airport, beaches and parks affords our guests the best possible experience while visiting San Diego.
John provides the complete accommodations, down to complimentary laundry facilities, barbecue grill and relaxing outdoor space. Our apartment was very comfortable and had all creature comforts. If there was some way to provide a better parking situation, the property would be the perfect vacation accommodation.
We really enjoyed our stay at Johns apartment. It was a great position, about 15 mins walk to the centre of downtown. Although we didn't new John, he was easily contactable and promptly responded to requests. The check in and check out processes were extremely easy. It was very clean. Maybe a bit small for 3 adults but perfect for 2. We would stay there again.
Very good spot for my son and I to stay for the evenings while in San Diego. The boogie board and large beach towels came in very handy. The location centrally located and convenient to quickly get to the highway for day trips.
This is a very clean and comfortable place. Very easy driving access to all of the sights we wanted to see, and easy street parking right in front of the building. John the owner is very responsive and helpful. My only (very slight) disappointment was the neighborhood wasn't a very walk-friendly place, so we pretty much drove to other places. Overall though a good home base.
This was our first time booking with VRBO and my son and I weren't sure what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised by the lovely set up we found, the attention to detail, and how immediately comfortable we felt. We enjoyed ourselves immensely and will recommend this spot to anyone travelling to San Diego.
Our first time in San Diego and using VRBO. Had a good experience--the apt is Located close to downtown San Diego, near the Gaslight district, Old Town and Little Italy, and a short distance to wonderful restaurants! The apartment was perfect for 2-3 people, had all the amientities needed. We did cook a couple meals in easily, but mostly ate out. Loved all the wonderful restaurants and diversity of foods! Having the beach chairs and tools was a plus! John was available for questions, we were VERY happy with our stay.
Our property is located immediately adjacent to and on the slope above Downtown San Diego which has become the center of energy for all of San Diego.
