About Owner

We are New Jersey residents who enjoy heading south to take a break from the winter chill. We have stayed all over Florida, but a few years ago we visited the Marco Island/Goodland/Naples area for the first time and fell in love with it.

Owner purchased this condo in 2013

Why Owner chose Marco Island

We traveled down on three separate occasions to look for a place to purchase, and while there were many nice properties, we were never 'sure' enough to make a decision. Finally, when we visited Calusa Island Village, we knew right away that it was 'the one'.

What makes this condo unique

Compared to many other properties in the area, Calusa Island Village units are fairly new and modern, spacious, and the water views are terrific. The restaurants are within walking distance, and the town has a carefree attitude that can't be beat. Marco Island's white sand beaches are a short drive away.

Goodland Love

  • 5 of 5

We just finished a wonderful week in this pristinely clean, comfortable, well-appointed home. Enjoyed fishing, boating, exploring islands, and eating at the Little Bar Restaurant — delicious food, excellent service. Stopped daily at the easy access little Goodland Park store to stock up on ice, drinks, and live shrimp for the boat. Goodland is a quaint, laid-back sort of place, we loved it. This home was well-stocked, but not fussy, which allows you to move in without tripping over owner stuff. Owner was easy to communicate with and helpful. Would love to stay again in this great property.

Goodland Bound

  • 5 of 5

This is a fantastic getaway to just unplug. A marina is right next door to rent boats for fishing, shelling or just cruising and beaching it for the day. It is a quiet fishing village so do not go there looking for adventure, however Stans Bar, The Little Bar and Marker 8.5 are great down home restaurants.

Very nice place. Loved the location and all the things nearby to do. Would be coming back next ear but it's booked for part of the time we'd like to be there.

Loved my Goodland Getaway!

  • 5 of 5

Teresa and I had one of the best vacation breaks we have ever had. The unit was roomy and clean and will appointed. The owner is a great guy and very helpful. We were so relaxed and comfortable we hated to leave and during the drive home we booked again for next year. Huge thumbs up!!

We enjoyed the spaciousness of the condo, the layout, the screened porch, the view of the canal, birds, boats. Would definitely rent it again. The pool and hot tub were warm and hot, respectively. Very nice. Great restaurants within walking distance. The owner was very gracious in sending us an email about things to do and their favorite restaurants.

Great Winter Getaway in Laid-Back Fishing Village

  • 5 of 5

Owners great to work with--from first contact to checkout, quickly responsive, personable & informative. Clearly happy owners anxious to share this little corner of the world which happens to be a small historic (working) fishing village on Marco Island. Kirk's Fish Market tucked right in with 4 village restaurants along the wharf offers fresh catch every day. We created a few stupendous meals around fresh grouper, snapper & stone crab. All restaurants seat outdoors on the wharf. Lunch at our favorite, Little Bar, came with lots of local color, sights & sounds of fishermen unloading catch as well as boaters pulling up to dock. I still smile remembering more than one little dog poised atop the bow of its boat directing launch or docking. Restaurants & fish shop all a very short walk from "home"/no driving required. Another good eatery Marker 8.5--didn't try Stan's, but it provided some serious people watching. Every Sunday crowds gather for live music outdoors. Our first weekend the whole wharf was packed for 2-day Mardi Gras Festival, complete w/Boat Parade (pretty clever costuming for some, let's say. . .) Do reserve restaurants during high season; a lot of boaters from other parts of island & beyond seem drawn to this little haven, quite picturesque from the water.

Without having to drive out of the village we took a 2-hr Fun Boat tour & chartered a 1/2-day Gulf fishing excursion. But village IS small & that means no grocery or even Quick Mart, part of the charm but sometimes inconvenient. We enjoy cooking even while on vacation; thus often back & forth to Publix, 6 miles away to the more populated part of Marco; something closer needed when we forgot "just that one item" for menu planned. A niggle from a couple who got into a walk-everywhere-kickback-vacation-mode. Day on a sandy beach requires a trip to another part of the island, too. This property VERY comfortable; however, the entire 2nd floor of a dwelling. Living spaces larger than they appear on website & design of layout and furnishings add to the fresh, modern, uncluttered, light-filled feel. A truly pleasant living environment. We stayed 2 weeks & shared space with friends 1/2 that time. 2 adult couples should be aware bed situation in 2nd bedroom is bunk, single over double. Still had a good time together but maybe setup better for a couple with kids. Still, our stay will always recall a uniquely relaxing time in a unique corner of SW Florida where time slowed down and so did our pulses.
