About John or Marcia Braunroth

My wife and I lived in Las Vegas for thirty years and decided it was time we left the desert for the tropical beauty of the Big Island. We are grateful and happy every day and wish to share the beauty of old Hawaii with you.

John or Marcia Braunroth purchased this house in 2006

Why John or Marcia Braunroth chose Kona Coast

From the moment we drove through the gate and saw the vast ocean view and well manicured lush properties we knew we found our new neighborhood.

We wanted to be close to shopping, restaurants and the beach. This property and location fit perfectly.

What makes this house unique

We enjoy being close to the water yet not having the ocean spray on our windows. We love the layout of the floor plan with the master bedroom on one side of the house and the second and third bedrooms on the other side. The kitchen and dining area is spacious and plenty of room in the living area. The interior is designed with Tommy Bahama furnishings, comfortable sofas and chairs and tasteful accessories. And of course the fabulous pool, gazebo and the covered lanai's makes for your own private resort. A dream house we look forward to sharing with you.

Big Island Oasis

  • 5 of 5

Stayed for 2 weeks here in January of 2016. Marcy and John were great hosts who were available to fix things when requests or for island advice. The home was very clean and well stocked with whatever you needed for dinning, home, pool or beach trips. The pictures don't do it justice. Some highlights

1. Quiet gated neighborhood.

2. Private backyard with pool and waterfall.

3. Great location. 8 minutes from downtown Kona (restaurants and shopping), 30-35 mintues to Place of refugee (snorkeling), 2 hours to Volcano national park, 2 hours to Hilo and 8 minutes to Kahaluu beach (snorkeling). I could go on ....

4. Plenty of room for 6 adults.

We will be back next year.

We especially were happy to have made your friendship during on our visit on Monday night. You kept the house just perfect and truly the housekeepers didn't need to show up... Best wishes to you and your family - hopefully your winter will be over soon. And of course we look forward to seeing you again. Let's hope that happens. Aloha always, John and Marcy

DREAM HOME IN DREAM DESTINATION HAWAII

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed in this beautiful house two weeks in October and it was the best thing we treated ourselves in Big Island.

The house is everything you could dream of: plenty of space and a big pool surrounded by a large garden area with beautiful flowers and palm trees, just sending you right to tropical paradise. To cool off read a book in the comfy lounge chairs in the spacious patio area or chill out in the hammock under the palm trees. Pass the beachy living room, shower off the ever-shining sun under the rain shower in one of the nice bathrooms and step out the front door to see the sun sink in the ocean (because you have one of the most beautiful spots for sunset watching just 10 steps from your door). Have a quiet night at home watching one of the new shows or movies on the big flatscreen TV, or choose a DVD from the vast collection of top films. Or mix with the Kona crowd in the bars downtown, just a short bike ride away. The owners had just the right recommendations! Either way, before that, the huge kitchen with the soul of a gourmet chef will bring out the best of your cooking skills, for sure you'll never be short of the right equipment. No excuses for sandwich night!

You will never get bored in this house: We have had a great night with friends playing the Okuleles and piano in the living room. We went to the beautiful Kua Bay close-by, having fun with the body and surf boards and used the provided snorkeling gear at the Kahalu'u beach just around the corner in Kona to see the giant turtles.

And last but not least: there are no words for the owners. They are truthfully good people and want you to have a great time in their home – which is your home. They love their house and you will feel that. We miss the time being there already! You will not find a better place to stay in Big Island, Hawaii.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much We are so happy you both had such a great time. You brought a lot of joy and aloha to our home. It was such a pleasure having you as guests. And, when we walked back in the house we could hardly believe our eyes. It was exactly how we left it for you but with added attractions. You're such a wonderful couple and certainly a great example of Munich. We definitely look forward to seeing you again. A big Mahalo for the painting!!! Best wishes to you John and Marcy

Can't Wait To Go Back

  • 5 of 5

This will be our third time at this beautiful perfectly located home. Early November is our favorite time to go. Wake up and go to Kua Bay a 15 minute drive from this home. The water is warm and calm, crystal clear and only a handful of people. I'm happy to go back to the home and just enjoy all the facilities. The owners are lovely and genuinely wanting your stay to be enjoyable. Getting excited again just looking at the pictures.

Truly a home away from home

  • 5 of 5

I stayed at Kamilo house for ten days during late August and was absolutely blown away. The home located in kahakai estates is a clean and secure community nestled on the hillside right outside of downtown Kona no more than half a mile from the shoreline. Its nice to be so close to the main attractions of Kona without being wedged in the actual hustle and bustle of the town itself. The home is very spacious with practically every amenity and accommodation with beautiful in ground pool, modern kitchen, 3+ bathrooms, lovely patio area, gorgeous landscaping, tasteful comfortable furniture, excellent air conditioning, bicycles and beach gear and the list really does go on and on. Marcy and John are wonderful hosts, very courteous and helpful. As for me it is only place I would consider for my next trip to kona.

Great house to relax and vacation!

  • 5 of 5

My family, including my boys 12 & 8 and my in-laws, enjoyed our vacation at the Kamilo house very much. The house has a beautiful outdoor area - perfect for relaxing, swimming and eating. The house is located near town, which was great. Marcy and John were very helpful and made us feel right at home. We would definitely recommend staying here.

It was like living in an island paradise.

  • 5 of 5

We vacationed at the Kamilo house for a week including July 4. It turned out to be an unusually hot week, but we were very comfortable using the air conditioning and swimming in the lovely pool with waterfall. The grounds were beautifully landscaped and maintained, with many lovely flowers and coconut trees. The house was very well equipped, and there was even a lovely bowl of tropical fruit and coffee, in addition to many other staples, left for our use. It was easy to use as a base for touring. John and Marcy were very helpful and gave good advice about where to eat and see the fireworks. I don't often give such high praise to rentals as I am particular and not easy to impress, but I would highly recommend renting this property.
