Leicester Cabin Rental Photos and Description

3 Bedroom, 2 Bath Mountain Getaway

Located on 4 acres of natural wooded property with long range stunning mountain views, Worley Cove is the perfect base for your mountain getaway! Just far enough out of Asheville that it has that secluded rustic Appalachian feel but close enough to enjoy everything Asheville has to offer on a daily basis!

Whether your goal is to get away from everything and enjoy the quiet solitude of the beautiful mountains and country roads that surrounds this cabin or you want a good starting point from which to experience all the Asheville area and Great Smokey mountains, Worley Cove is great for either (or both!). Rest and Relaxation or Mountain Adventure... Take your pick!

From Worley Cove it is an easy, beautiful drive of less than 30 min to any of the following (and mostly less): downtown Asheville, the Blueridge Parkway, rafting, hiking, the Biltmore House, rock climbing, Pisgah National Forest, fishing, museums, local arts and crafts, shopping, golfing, and much much more!

All that said, you may not want to leave. Worley Cove is a beautifully appointed, rustic feeling log cabin that has plenty of room to explore around it and big decks with comfortable chairs that make it pretty easy to just lounge about! The floor to ceiling windows allow you the beautiful mountain views.

Wake up in the predawn mountain fog and watch the sun rise over the smokey mountains from your giant four post king size bed! The master suite also has an enormous jetted jacuzzi tub!

The two other queen size bedrooms are comfortable and roomy.

Just outside, there is a giant fire pit big enough for the entire family to hang around and cook hotdogs and smores!

We absolutely love it here and know you will too!

About Travis Lindberg

We live in the Virgin Islands where we operate a sailing charter business most of the year. However, during hurricane season, we shut our doors and come spend some time up north with family! This is our 'home away from home'!

We absolutely adore Worley Cove and think you will too!

Travis Lindberg purchased this cabin in 2009

Why Travis Lindberg chose Asheville Area

We wanted something around Asheville so that we could be near family when we were in North Carolina. One of us wanted a further out, more secluded property and one of us wanted something closer to downtown Asheville. Worley Cove was the perfect compromise. We loved the property when we first saw it and love it even more today!

What makes this cabin unique

We love the rustic feel of Worley Cove. Every bit of it is wood and every bit of it was built with TLC! The whole south face of the house is windows facing beautiful mountain views. We love waking up in the fog and then watching the sunrise. We love the surrounding area and to walk the country road that the house is on almost daily. Barns, fields and mountains all around!

We love hanging out with friends around the big fire pit and having a coffee or beer out on the big deck.

There is a group of feral peacocks around that we love to listen to as well! Sometimes they even come to visit.

Guestbook comments from the manager

This was a perfect home for me, my girlfriend and another couple to enjoy the mountains for a long weekend. Absolutely loved the setup of the house, back deck, huge wood fireplace and views of the mountains. Having the master upstairs and waking up to those views out of the large picture windows is priceless. The home had absolutely everything you need to hole up and stay for a week along with a short, beautiful drive to Asheville for some fun. We will definitely be staying here again on our next trip to the mountains if available!

Excellent

This cabin was wonderful for our week stay. It was about 10 minutes from the highway into Asheville. There is beautiful view out the windows, but you aren't on top of a mountain. Close to multiple hiking destinations as well.

Absolutely stunning

  • 5 of 5

This place was awesome. It's away from the city but close enough to make quick trips for whatever reason. The place is beautiful, and we loved the jacuzzi and fireplace. The beds were so comfortable and the view was amazing. They even had all our basic needs inside the cabin already. We over packed big time, because we did not expect to have a whole lot available to us. They even accepted our two dogs which was so nice, because we do not stay anywhere without them. We will definitely be going back again.

Love this place

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for a surprise birthday getaway for myself and we absolutely loved it. We loved that it was dog friendly and secluded. Once we got there, we were even happier. It was amazing. The beds were super comfortable and everything we needed was already there. We will definitely be coming back to this place.

Wonderful Escape in the Mountains!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I wanted to honeymoon in Asheville and thoroughly enjoyed our week in this cabin tucked away in the mountains! Each morning, we woke up to a beautiful view of the mountains from the lofted master bedroom and sipped our coffee out on the wraparound porch. While we were there, we felt totally secluded, yet within thirty minutes we were in the heart of downtown Asheville! It was the perfect balance of activity and serenity.

Apart from having gorgeous views, the cabin is clean and spacious, with two private bedrooms and a lofted master suite. The kitchen is suitable for making large meals and the host is more than happy to help out with special requests. My husband wanted to thank me for planning the honeymoon and with the host's help I arrived to find a box of truffles from the world-famous Chocolate Fetish and fresh flowers. You will need a car to get to town from the cabin. While the roads leading to the cabin are narrow and serpentine, the road right by the cabin is much wider and flatter. My husband and I went running in the mornings and felt quite safe. After eating so much delicious food in Asheville, being able to run safely was a huge plus!

If you are looking for activities around Leicester, there is plenty to do in Asheville and in the surrounding countryside. We spent a day at the Biltmore touring the house and vineyards, a day at the Grove Park Inn spa (definite must to grab dinner at the Inn and see the sunset!), went on a food tour of Asheville, drove towards Tennessee to spend a day hiking the Appalachian trail, and went horseback riding. From appreciating the art at the Biltmore to the vistas on the AT to a meal at one of the excellent restaurants in town, there is really something for everyone here! If you have not been to Asheville before, I recommend starting out your trip with a food tour because it will help you understand the layout of the city and you will get coupons from the restaurants on the tour that you can use later in your trip.

Very comfortable! Everything is at your fingertips!

  • 5 of 5

My son and I stayed here for 4 days and we really enjoyed it. I have used VRBO many times and this home is equipped the best! If you are looking for something and can't find it, keep looking, it is there. Definitely arrive the first time during daylight. The last 3.5 miles is a very curvy road up the mountain and you will want to see this during the day. If it is uncomfortable, we found that we can go further down Leicester Highway and pick up the road again and it is much less curvy ( we actually just found this by exploring). We did activities in the Asheville every day and because it is about a 35 minute drive, we found it helpful to bring another set of clothing depending on your activities. We cycled in the morning so had cycle gear to wear and then went to the Biltmore later that day. Obviously we needed to change clothes. Since heat rises, we found the upstairs bedroom much warmer than the rest of the home. The stone fireplace was the central part of the home. It is beautiful just like the picture. This cabin is secluded and in the woods. We were surprised we did not see any bear or deer during our stay. The cabin is very clean and everything was in good working order. Thanks Travis for sharing your home with us, we really enjoyed it!
