3 Bed 2 Bath In Town
About Ryan Scanlon
I am an avid skier and hiker. I always dreamed of having a place in Vermont, until 2013 when it became a reality. I work for an energy startup based out of California, and I bounce around between Boston, VT, & Portland, ME. I travel to California & Colorado frequently for work.
Ryan Scanlon purchased this Apartment in 2013
Why Ryan Scanlon chose Woodstock
I was staying next door, and I wandered over to this house to ask for the internet password.. the rest was history. The previous owner was Mr. Harlow, and he is the person the property is now named after. I live in Boston/Portland, and it never ceases to amaze me that I can be at this house (and a completely different world)- in two hours flat.
What makes this Apartment unique
You won't find any space in the area that is as clean as this apartment. We just finished restoring the unit and it shows. It's right in town, and you can walk to hiking trails and the farmer's market in minutes.
Canceled bookings will not receive a refund
Shower did not work
Wifi no connection
If you have kids, this spot just works. Amazing playgrounds all around the area, and walking distance to anything in town!!
Not sure if owner was new at the rental business, because there were a lot of personal items we had to work around, which was difficult when we could have used every inch of storage space. There was one bureau that was very difficult to open and smelled like urine, and other storage in bunk bedroom was locked, yet personal items like clothes and shoes were out. We could have used a fully empty chest of drawers in each room.
Also, upon arriving we found out via note that one shower wasn't working. Also two drawers in the fridge were marked "off limits for owners beer - DO NOT TOUCH" which was a bit off-putting, considering many other places we've stayed actually had beer, wine and snacks out for us on arrival!
Kitchen had a plethora of cutting boards (seriously, the most I've ever witnessed outside of Williams-Sonoma) but no plastic cups for younger people or just bringing outside. Some odd choices for kitchen supplies.
Lighting was extremely dim in the house, with both bathrooms having one working bulb until we found some in the basement so we could see! There needs to also be a drain plug for the tub so that young ones can take a bath.
Great job with blinds in every room! That is clutch in VT when the sun rises at an ungodly hour!
Plenty of TP on hand, thank you! Good supplies of sheets and towels, but we found upon arrival that we had to make 2 of the four beds.
Overall a truly great experience and no big complaints. Owner was easy-going and process was simple! We would stay again, and wish him all the best.
It was perfect for our Girls Trip to Wails weekend
We were walking distance to everything. Enjoyed our entire trip.
Great groups of girls! Would have them back anytime!
Very nice accommodations!
This property is well maintained and within walking distance of town. Ryan was easy to work with. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
our family loved staying here. yes, there was a little noise from upstairs, but the place is so easy to live in and it is so conveniently located where you can walk to everything, we didn't mind. we'd stay here again for sure.
Small, but nicely done apartment
The apartment was a bit small for our family (5 people) but was clean and nicely renovated. I would advise renters to bring soap, coffee, and basic necessities, as those were not supplied. We were there during a record cold wave, so we wished there was a fireplace and some warm blankets. But the location is fantastic, just steps from Woodstock Village.
