Beautiful renovated home with 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. The historic side of the home has a beautiful stone fireplace to relax by. Up the stairs is a quiet loft bedroom with a full bathroom. Downstairs on the renovated side, there is a large open kitchen with granite countertops, soft close cabinets, and a bar stool eating area. You can watch the water while enjoying your meals at the dining room table. There is a large TV room with a bay window and another bedroom off the kitchen.
Upstairs there is a beautiful tiled shower in the bathroom with a separate tub. A pull-out couch is in the bonus room at the top of the stairs, as well as a balcony with a spot light for playing bean bags in the large yard. The kids room has 4 bunk beds and can sleep 5 comfortably.
Another bedroom is opposite the kids room and there is also a laundry room upstairs. Walk down the hill to the gorgeous Lake Charlevoix where you can swim and soak up the sun. There is a boathouse with a refrigerator and bathroom making it convenient to stay by the water all day :)
We have 2 children and enjoy vacationing in Boyne City for the summer.
Shaina Allen purchased this house in 2010
Boyne City is such a quaint town with many summer festivals and wonderful winter skiing. We love that we have the option of swimming, boating, or downhill skiing while being closely located to Charlevoix, Petoskey, and other gorgeous Northern Michigan cities
We love snuggling around the stone fireplace in the winter and making Smores on the patio fireplace in the summer. It is incredibly relaxing to enjoy your cup of coffee in the morning on the Adirondack chairs while watching the waves come in.
My friends & I rented this property for New Years Eve (12/30-1/2) & we had a BLAST! The proximity of the house to Boyne Mountain is perfect (10 minute drive) and Boyne City is 3 minutes away. There was enough space for 13 adults to sleep and we were all extremely comfortable. It truly felt like a home away from home.
Thank you for your hospitality!
We had a great time and the house was as advertised. Great location on the water and very comfortable. The owners were extremely helpful and nice. Boyne City is a nice small quiet town with good restaurants. Wonderful sunsets!
We thoroughly enjoyed the house and had plenty of room for our group of 7 adults and 4 kids. The proximity to Boyne City (long walk or short bike ride) was a great benefit with respect to grocery shopping, restaurants, or boat rental. The rocky lake entrance proved challenging for my 3 year old, but she negotiated the rocks and found her way into the water even over the objections of her grandmother. The outdoor hardscape patio was a delightful extension of the livable space of the house. The two excelling attributes of this property in our view are (i) its central location to Boyne City, Charlevoix, Petosky, and Boyne Mountain with its amenities (not to mention Mackinac at about 1 hour distance), and (ii) the expanded floorplan and logical renovation that updates the space for a larger group. We were a short distance from everything that we wanted to do and there was plenty of space for everyone to spread out, which were the two critical items for our group.
Our party of 10 (two families) had plenty of room to spread out and make ourselves at home in this clean, comfortable lake home. The bunk room was great for our teens/tweens. Very responsive owners.
We enjoyed campfires at night around the fire pit, the sandy beaches of Young State Park, and restaurants just a few minutes away in Boyne City. We also made day trips to Sleeping Bear Dunes, Mackinac Island, and Petoskey State Park.
We enjoyed a week long family vacation in Boyne City. The house was wonderful for our multi-family event as there was ample space for everyone. The lake front area and dock are wonderful and the fire pit was our gathering spot each evening. From swimming to boating to frisbee to shopping to grilling to s'mores - we never ran out of fun things to do!!! The owners are great! Thanks for sharing your vacation home with us!!!
We escaped the Texas heat for a week at this gem of a place that is a very short walk/bike ride to the Boyne City Farmer's Market, grocery store, restaurants and marina. Not like you'll actually be doing that "city stuff" with the lake across the street from the house (that was the only thing that surprised us...quiet street, but the house's private beach is actually across the street from the home). We spent every night at the fire pit right outside of the kitchen and launched Chinese lanterns from the second fire pit that sits right on the water. The owner was super responsive to all questions/needs both before our stay and during. These are not the kind of owners who have locked-up secret rooms in the house; they made everything available for us to use. For those traveling with kiddos, we had our three kids under 5 sleep in the bunk room that was fully equipped with a pack n' play, noise machine, and toys! Thanks for the fantastic memories!
