For a holiday full of atmosphere of which are saturated with the two houses, with their stone walls, original terracotta floors, and ceilings in wooden beams and bricks. The original design has been expertly restored to perfection by merging with modern comfort.
A Casa Cielo and Casa Terra spend a holiday of complete relaxation, where you will be able to breathe the essence of this magical land. Tuscany.
In Case you will find some tourist maps to visit Tuscany.
Historical notes: The farmhouse dates back to 1700, and was recently restored by the owners while preserving the characteristics of Tuscan architecture, with exposed stone walls, paved with bricks made by hand and chestnut beamed ceilings and tiled floors. The furniture is the original and the atmosphere that you breathe is that of the past, where the pace of life seems to slow down ....
The first document that refers to Boveglio dates back to 757 AD The town is surrounded by walls and has a very rich artistic heritage, dominated by the imposing clock tower, which was also the medieval tower for spotting of the enemy armies. The country's current economy is based on agriculture to the chestnut harvest, where the flour is excellent, and the development of quality tourism.
From an early age I wanted to 'live' in Tuscany, and I'm very attached to my roots, as I was taught by my parents and my grandparents.
Growing up then I met my wife, and has strengthened my and our Tuscan spirit, to the point of wanting to share with others. From our shared passion was born the idea of buying a house and planning our dream ...
Gemignani Lisa purchased this barn in 2000
Ever since we started to renovate the first brick of the house, our dream was to create a place where our guests can feel at ease, and entering, breathed an atmosphere of genuine familiarity.
For us, the Tuscany is part of our lives: it is the air we breathe and the food we eat. And it's nice to know what it means to the tourists 'live' Tuscany ....
Each house is divided when the house has its own characteristic:
Casa Cielo has a sun terrace protected by stone walls that ensure the tranquility and superb views.
And 'the angle that best characterizes it .......
Casa Terra has a Tuscan kitchen with stone fireplace. A room truly superb.
Casa Pietra as well as being beautiful and in Tuscan style, has exclusive sauna and hot tub.
While Casa Il Nido is ideal for a romantic break in two
I prezzi sono indicati per appartamento.
We loved this little flat - everything you might need is there for your stay, including a well equipped kitchen. We spent our days chilling in the garden surrounded by trees, herbs and bees. So tranquil and relaxing. The village is well worth an explore too! . We will certainly return :)
Luca and Lisa are charming hosts who do whatever it takes to make your home in Tuscany a very memorable one. We simply loved the apartment. While small, it was well stocked and had a charm which made us feel we were not tourists, but family. The views from atop the mountain and from our patio were simply magnificent. A real old world charm, away from the normal tourist traffic but with all the conveniences you'd want. Not made for more than two, but a total blessing for a restful romantic getaway with your loved one. Thanks again Luca and Lisa. We love you guys!
We loved the time we spent at Casa Il Nido. This place was perfect for our stay in Tuscany. The home itself was absolutely charming with every detail looked after. The well-equipped kitchen gave us the opportunity to cook our dinners and enjoy our relaxing evenings looking out over the garden. Casa Il Nido has been carefully restored with modern bathroom conveniences, lovely antiques and stonework. The terraced garden included many little seating areas to enjoy the sights, sounds and smells of lavender, grapes, hydrangea, herbs, bees, birds and the beauty of the area. We rented a car to explore the area each day. Our travels included day trips to the walled city of Lucca where we rented bikes for the afternoon, a longer drive to the medieval village of San Gimignano where we rented scooters to drive through the rolling countryside filled with grape vines and olive trees. On our final day, we stayed closer to home visiting the villages of Bagni di Lucca and taking a long walk along the river. Our host, Luca, was so welcoming and friendly. He and his children greeted us on our first day and made sure we had everything we needed...including some local wine! Thank you Luca and Lisa for providing us with such an enjoyable stay at Casa Il Nido.
This place has everything a tourist seeking the essence of rural Italy requires. My husband and I, both Americans, decompressed for 4 days in Casa Il Nido after spending a month traveling in Italy. The owners welcomed us with genuine warmth and their love and pride in this property is evident in the careful restoration of the apartments and the grounds. The apartment where we stayed, Casa Il Nido, is the smallest of four apartments of varying sizes on the property. It was spotlessly clean and well equipped with modern kitchen and bathroom fixtures along with stone floors and walls, lace curtains and antiques. The view out our front windows and door looked down on the old village bell tower and out across the neighboring mountains. Another bell tower sits next to the Casa property. The grounds of the group of apartments called, Casa Sotto del Torre or "House Under the Tower", slope downward and the owners have restored the ancient terracing of rock walls creating level after level of sitting areas and walking paths with beautiful plantings, pots of herbs, and vine covered trellises. Here we experienced that delightful feeling of "Old Italy" that every tourist craves. To be be sitting outside in one of the many sitting areas writing or reading was equally as wonderful as being inside the apartment. This would be a perfect place to spend a month or more for a writer, painter, or anyone seeking beauty or a place to think and be creative. Boveglio, the delightful Medieval village where Casa Sotto la Torre is located can be reached by car by carefully driving north for 15 kilometers on the narrow, winding SP 55 from Collodi or south for 10 kilometers on SP 55 from Bagni de Lucca. The Casa is located on SP55 just at the north west entrance to the village of Boveglio. There is bus service to and from but a car is probably necessary. We found two good restaurants and a small but well stocked grocery market in a village called Benabbio, 5 kilometers north of Boveglio. We loved this place and when we come back, we will stay longer.
What a beautiful place! We stayed for a week in November and could've stayed longer! Our apartment was equipped with everything we needed, and was quiet and peaceful. The little village of Boveglio was very charming. This is a great place to relax in the middle of Tuscany, but not too far from surrounding villages like Lucca. Highly recommended! (car essential)
Lisa and Luca,
thank you very much for a fantastic vacation. Your home and garden are absolutely beautiful and the views are stunning. We will always treasure the memories of our week in Tuscany, and we will most certainly recommend your home to anyone who plans on visiting the area.
Best wishes to your family!

The farmhouse' Casa sotto la torre', is located at a height of 780, is like a gem set in the nature of Toscany. The house have be made out of an old farmhouse from the late 1700s, and have been recently renovated keeping the characteristics of Tuscan architecture intact, with original features such as beams, stone walls and visible terracotta ceiling tiles. The original furnischings have been skilfully restored and completed with arte povera furniture, giving the two houses a unique atmosphere, where the old the new are perfectly integrated, giving you at the same time all the necessary commodities.
They offer possibility to visit all the major cities of art such as Florence, Siena, Pisa, Lucca, Arezzo...not forgetting the wonderful mountain area of Garfagnana, that's so rich in old medieval towns. Nearby, in the town of Collodi, it's possible to visit the park of the world's most famous puppet Pinocchio.... an event that the youngsters shouldn't loose.... and a unique occasion for the not so young too!!!!
