Casa Pietra is the perfect mix of old and modern.
Its majestic vaulted stone that decorates the kitchen fits in perfectly with the room of the sauna and the hot tub, with their stone walls and the ceilings with chestnut beams and ancient bricks.
The two comfortable bedrooms and a large bathroom with a large shower, harmonize throughout the house, which opens and you find out who has the good fortune to stay there.
Our Farmhouse' Casa sotto la Torre ' is on the cover of the magazine CasAntica n 57 (January / February 2014)
The Farmhouse 'Casa sotto la Torre' is located in the shadow of the medieval clock tower, is still running.
Immersed in the green of the chestnut trees that surround the entire country.
The farmhouse is divided into two houses: 'House House Land and Sky'.
Completely exposed to the south offer, from their windows, a view that has no equal, where, below, nestled between tall trees is the old church in the country.
Staying in the old farmhouse dating back to 1700 and is an experience that leaves its mark. For a holiday full of atmosphere of which are saturated with the two houses, with their stone walls, original terracotta floors, and ceilings in wooden beams and bricks. The original design has been expertly restored to perfection by merging with modern comfort.
A Casa Cielo and Casa Terra spend a holiday of complete relaxation, where you will be able to breathe the essence of this magical land. Tuscany.
In Case you will find some tourist maps to visit Tuscany.
Historical notes: The farmhouse dates back to 1700, and was recently restored by the owners while preserving the characteristics of Tuscan architecture, with exposed stone walls, paved with bricks made by hand and chestnut beamed ceilings and tiled floors. The furniture is the original and the atmosphere that you breathe is that of the past, where the pace of life seems to slow down ....
The first document that refers to Boveglio dates back to 757 AD The town is surrounded by walls and has a very rich artistic heritage, dominated by the imposing clock tower, which was also the medieval tower for spotting of the enemy armies. The country's current economy is based on agriculture to the chestnut harvest, where the flour is excellent, and the development of quality tourism.
From an early age I wanted to 'live' in Tuscany, and I'm very attached to my roots, as I was taught by my parents and my grandparents.
Growing up then I met my wife, and has strengthened my and our Tuscan spirit, to the point of wanting to share with others. From our shared passion was born the idea of buying a house and planning our dream ...
Gemignani Lisa purchased this apartment in 2000
Ever since we started to renovate the first brick of the house, our dream was to create a place where our guests can feel at ease, and entering, breathed an atmosphere of genuine familiarity.
For us, the Tuscany is part of our lives: it is the air we breathe and the food we eat. And it's nice to know what it means to the tourists 'live' Tuscany ....
Each house is divided when the house has its own characteristic:
Casa Cielo has a sun terrace protected by stone walls that ensure the tranquility and superb views.
And 'the angle that best characterizes it .......
Casa Terra has a Tuscan kitchen with stone fireplace. A room truly superb.
Casa Pietra as well as being beautiful and in Tuscan style, has exclusive sauna and hot tub.
While Casa Il Nido is ideal for a romantic break in two
We had a great stay in this rustic Italian farmhouse. Very comfortable, well equipped with fantastic views. The Hot tub and sauna were the perfect way to relax after exploring the Italian countryside.
A wonderful experience! My family and I (3 children) loved this property. The owner immediately showed us the property and the property grounds. My children took to the playground immediately and I could not tear away from the stunning views of the balcony. The sitting room/Jacuzzi/spa is just an added bonus. The views are spectacular; however, be warned the drive is windy and steep, take it slow! Less than 5 min away is a local pizza restaurant that is wonderful and a local restaurant that has plenty of seating upstairs. A longer drive back down the hill you can find much more. We loved our stay here and will recommend it to all family and friends.
We spent a week in Casa Pietra in July 2015 and loved the villa and the little village (Boveglio) it's in. Thoroughly charming and relaxing. The lavender infused air and the views were lovely. The drive to Florence, Pisa, and Lucca were all straightforward. Trattorias in the neighboring villages offered delicious fare. Italy was insanely hot, but Boveglio was heavenly.
The property was clean and well-maintained, and Luca was a good property manager/owner.
Italy was hot....I mean HOT. 38-39C in the shade and whilst its a bit of a drive up the hilly road to Casa Pietra the cooler temperatures and breeze makes it well worth the effort. The house has been really beautifully restored, and fitted out very well. The partly rendered white walls and exposed stone give it a lot of character, and we found the house spotlessly clean. We never really thought we would use the hot tub in the middle of summer, but on a low setting it was really nice to cool off after a long hot day sightseeing.
Lisa & Luca were easily contactable by email, and whilst we didn't speak Italian, they were able to google translate our messages and helped recover a lost handbag at the local police station. When we did have a minor problem with hot water Luca came out on a Sunday to fix it which was beyond the call of duty.
I would recommend Casa Pietra to anyone wanting a tranquil place to stay with beautiful views over the tree covered hills. Favourite places Lucca inside the historic walls, and Barga. We will have fond memories of our stay.
Casa Pietra was a wonderful relaxing retreat to start our holidays in Italy. We stayed here with our 6 month old son for a week. It was a week filled with a perfect mix of quiet days, exploring Boveglio and the surrounding villages, and sight seeing - days trips to Florence, Cinque Terre and San Gimignano. The apartment was very clean, well equipped with all we needed, complete with a play pen and high chair for the baby, and the sauna and jacuzzi were a perfect way to unwind at the end of the day. There are supermarkets close by in Collodi or Bagni di Lucca and the bread van comes every day with delicious bread. The views are beautiful and the town and the grounds around are great to wander. Lisa and Luca were great to deal with, answering all our questions and making sure we had everything we needed. All and all, a great stay and we hope to be back again one day!

The farmhouse' Casa sotto la torre', is located at a height of 780, is like a gem set in the nature of Toscany. The house have be made out of an old farmhouse from the late 1700s, and have been recently renovated keeping the characteristics of Tuscan architecture intact, with original features such as beams, stone walls and visible terracotta ceiling tiles. The original furnischings have been skilfully restored and completed with arte povera furniture, giving the two houses a unique atmosphere, where the old the new are perfectly integrated, giving you at the same time all the necessary commodities.
