Long Street and the heart of the Bo Kaap 5 mins walk, V&A Waterfront 15 mins walk. Company Gardens, the museums and CTICC 10 mins walk. To get to the beaches or the Cable car, you can hop on a MyCiti bus, or take a 10 min taxi ride. With super easy access to the main highways, you will be at the airport in 20 mins, and 35 mins you will be in the heart of the Winelands.

About Claire Parrish

I am originally from Newcastle in the North East of England. After living and working in the corporate world in London for 6 years, i decided i needed a break. I enrolled on a volunteer program which enabled me to work with lions in Zimbabwe, and then at a health clinic in Zambia. It was in Zambia that i knew my life had to change, it seemed to me, that in Africa you could be whatever you wanted to be! I was allowed to help deliver babies, was a lab technician, amongst other things, and also in the afternoons i taught kids English.

At the end of the volunteering, i joined an overland tour which ended in Cape Town. I fell instantly in love with the city and decided i would live there. I had no clue what i would do when i moved, but things fell into place instantly and i started modelling and acting in TV commercials. I have now lived in Cape Town 7 years, and can truly call it my home. I spend any of my free time hiking on the mountain, i love living so close to, and having access to such beautiful nature.

When i first arrived in Cape Town i stumbled upon De Waterkant. I loved the quaint cobbled streets and felt like it was a secret place i had uncovered. The original Cape Quarter was just the piazza, and of course since then it has been extended and grown into a delightful hip and trendy area loved and known by all.

What makes this apartment unique

I actually looked at many properties in the area, but my favorite block was Soho on Strand. It seemed quiet and tranquil considering it was in the middle of the city and with the huge glass windows in every foyer, the views were stunning. The minute i walked into B2 my breath was taken away by the view before me. I loved the double volume loft style, and the apartment just had that special feel. I made an offer immediately and never went back again until the day the keys were handed over. I was that sure this was the one!

Excellent apartment

We recently spent an enjoyable week in this very nice apartment. The location was good and afforded the opportunity to walk to a number of attractions. A short walk to a supermarket was convenient. We also appreciated the secure underground parking.

The apartment was spacious, clean, and well equipped. It Is well represented on the website and looks just like the pictures shown.

Claire is a helpful host, and although we did not meet her, she was helpful when we needed to contact her by email during our stay.

We would stay there again if we ever have the opportunity to return to Cape Town. Highly reccommended!

Great location

This property is about 40 minutes from the airport, but central to a lot of the attractions and basic requirements.

Area: Local supermarket is just 5 minutes walk, loads of bars/restaurants in walking distance. The V&A area is about 25 minute walk and Long street even closer

Apartment: A nice well situated location. This is a nice place to spend a few days, clean and bright, in a secure building.

The owner has left a comprehensive file that covers everything you need to know about the apartment and local area. You could easily spend 3 days here without the need of a car and then hire a car for only the day trips.

would not hesitate to recommend.

Good location and great view

We really enjoyed our stay in this apartment. The bed was comfortable and bathroom and kitchen very modern. We didn't use the kitchen very much because restaurants are so inexpensive--and good! The 24 hour security at the building and complimentary parking space for our rental car added to the apartment. The balcony was great for breakfast with a tremendous view--though there is some street noise. Claire was extremely rapid in replying to any question we had.

Uber was extremely convenient and I was glad I brought an unlocked smart phone that I could use when I needed to order a car. The rides were generally less than $2 USD and the service was extremely prompt. If you don't know how to use Uber, find out before you go as you will find it essential for getting around town.

I would recommend this apartment for a good stay in Cape Town.

The apartment borders De Waterkant Village, the Bo Kaap and the City Centre. Each within spitting distance, and each with their own unique characters. Spend your day exploring De Waterkant village, this hip and trendy neighbourhood oozes with style and sophistication. Explore the cobbled streets, and marvel at the Dutch style colourful houses with their pretty flower boxes and tree lined pavements. Browse through the famous Cape Quarter with its abundance of boutique shops, restaurants, bars, galleries, and European style cafes. Take a peak in the design shops, Cape Town wasn’t named the 2014 design capital for nothing!

Alternatively, wander over to Heritage Square, the latest new spot for all things cool and trendy, not to mention the revival of Bree Street with its galleries, café’s and excellent restaurants that will have the foodies among you drooling! This is where it is happening with the locals! Don’t miss the 1st Thursday of the month, where food trucks gather in Heritage Square and the shops and galleries throw their doors open until late, blessing you with free wine and nibbles. This has become quite the social event in Cape Town.

Directly opposite the apartment, you can walk up Rose Street and into the heart of the Bo Kaap. Step back in time, and enjoy wandering around this historical Cape Malay area with its beautiful coloured houses. Don’t forget to be finished in time to walk up to Signal Hill for the firing of the noon gun!

The fan walk that was constructed for the FIFA World Cup runs parallel to the apartment block, and is the place to be if there are any street festivals such as Gay Pride, and the Cape Town festival. They all head this way, so you are in the perfect spot to join the festivities.
