Seaside House is a large holiday home, situated in the heart of Weymouth and within a stone’s throw of Weymouth’s fabulous beach and esplanade.

This elegant Grade II listed Georgian townhouse extends over 4 floors and provides generous accommodation for up to 12 - ideal for 2 families or large groups.

The house has 6 bedrooms in total which sleep 11 people + infants in cot. Four of the bedrooms have en-suite shower rooms. In addition there is a further family bathroom and family shower room. There is also a daybed available for guest use where a 12th person (adult or teenager) can sleep on the ground floor, within a multifunctional room. In addition there is a cotbed and 2 travel cots available.

As well as a generous first floor living room, there is a well appointed kitchen leading into the dining room. There is also a ground floor play room/2nd sitting room. French doors lead out from this room and the kitchen into the sunny rear courtyard where there is further seating to enjoy!

6 Bedrooms (4 with ensuite showers)

Additional bathroom and shower room

Family friendly

Very close to the beach

Free WIFI / broadband access

Off road car space

Walking distance to all amenities

The house has been furnished to a high standard and is large and spacious, able to sleep up to 11 people in 6 bedrooms. It is designed to appeal to:

Large family groups or extended families

2 families sharing

Groups of friends wanting a spacious house to share

It is not suitable for stag/hen weekends or for groups under the age of 25.

Practicalities

Please note that the property is laid out over 4 floors with the sitting room on the 1st floor. There is however a full shower room on the ground floor and the ground floor family room can be used as a bedroom where necessary.

There are 2 steps up to both the front door and the rear French doors into the kitchen

The house is well equipped for children of all ages and there is both a full cot and two travel cots to use during your stay. In addition, there are 2 highchairs, booster seats and toys suitable for toddlers, which means that you don’t need to completely fill the car with babies’ or children’s bits and pieces!

For older children, there are games and puzzles as well as a separate ground floor family room equipped with large flat screen TV, video and Wii. The room is tucked away at the rear of the house and has its own access into the outside courtyard

Living Space

Main Living room - This high ceilinged sitting room is at the front of the house, on the first floor. It is a bright and spacious room with bay window to the front. It is furnished with comfortable sofas and chairs providing a relaxing place to unwind.

The room also has the benefit of a 40 inch flat screen TV, BluRay DVD player, and hifi system with Ipod dock.

Play Room - There is also a separate play room on the ground floor which comes equipped with 32 inch flat screen TV, wii and sofa. There is also a table football. The room also can be used as a single bedroom with an adjoining shower room.

Kitchen & Dining

For many, one of the main hearts of a house is the kitchen. This is certainly so at Seaside House, with the spacious modern kitchen providing the hub between the outside courtyard and the equally spacious dining room accessed direct from the kitchen. The kitchen is well equipped and includes:

8 burner gas range cooker with 2 electric ovens & separate grill

Coffee maker and espresso machine

Food processor, toaster and kettle

Microwave oven

Large American style fridge freezer and separate drinks chiiler compartment

There is also a plentiful supply of pots pans utensils bowls etc to ensure that you really can cook almost anything during your stay.

Outside there is an outdoor table and chairs to ensure that you can make the most of warm and balmy days on the coast.

Adjoining the kitchen and accessed via interconnecting double doors is the dining room. This room has a large modern ash table which seats 12 people comfortably. There is also sufficient crockery cutlery serving dishes and glasses to accommodate even the largest groups

Kids & Equipment

With 3 children of our own, we know how stressful holidays can become if the children’s requirements are not met. We also know how difficult it can be to travel with everything needed, particularly for toddlers and babies.

That’s why we have tried to include a variety of things to make your stay easy. As well as the well equipped family room, you will also find (if you need them):

Full dropside cot and bedding (by request)

2 X Travel cots

2 X High chairs

Child booster seat

Toddler chair

Why Jacqui & Nick Barwood chose Weymouth & Portland

We loved this property because we have a passion for older buildings. We took it on when it was part renovated and we took over the renovations and removed a few walls to put the house back to its original room sizes.

The house is well located as it is very close to the beach and only a 5-10 minute walk into town and up to the harbour.

What makes this house unique

Stay at Seaside House and the car can be parked for the entire week!

Proximity to the beach

Plenty of bathrooms - queuing for s shower is not part of the planned activities!

Fabulously large dining table enabling great social meals

A separate TV room for the kids!!

Guestbook comments from the owner

A wonderfull period for us.

I hope came back to Weymouth next year in augost for my holiday.

Thank you very much.

family weekend in Weymouth

  • 5 of 5

We have been coming to Weymouth in November for a number of years to celebrate family birthdays. This house is perfect! easily sleeps the 10 of us and there is a fab kitchen/diner as well as a large lounge where we can socialise.

Close to the sea front and 10 minute walk tio the shops.

The house is very clean but nopt sterile. There is plenty of useful items including highchairs, toys, denby crockery, cot etc.

Family holiday in Weymouth

  • 5 of 5

This was a holiday for my whole family, there were 6 adults and 6 children ranging from 2 to 12. Located one street off the beach, and plenty of parking, no need to drive once you're here. The house was wonderful, it had everything you could wish for. The dining table seated 12 of us, and the kitchen was out of this world! There were enough bathrooms for us all, and the kids loved the games room! I would definitely recommend this property.

  • 5 of 5

My friends and I all had a super time in your lovely home. It was extremely convenient for the seafront and town centre and the comfortable & spotlessly clean accommodation was a hit all round. Lots of bathrooms meant no queues for the loos! We will definitely book with you again. Many thanks.

Weymouth is a charming Georgian town with a sheltered bay and large sandy beach, making ideal for families with children. The town also boasts a famous harbour complete with fishing boats, yachts and lifting bridge.

Our Grade II listed Georgian town house is located less than 100m from Weymouth's famous and elegant Esplanade, from which you can easily access the wonderful beach and enjoy the spectacular coastal views. The Esplanade stretches several miles from Preston Beach to the east through to the river and fishing harbour to the west

A short stroll the other side of the river is Northe Forte and the Brewers Quay area, the redeveloped Victorian brewery (currently closed for refurbishment) set within the historic Hope Square, alive with cafes, bars and bistros.

The sea off Dorset’s coast and specifically around Weymouth Bay is a world class sailing destination with the sailing waters being credited by the Royal Yachting Association as the best in Northern Europe.

The UK's world-class sailing waters of Weymouth & Portland are some of the most beautiful and safe waters in the UK. The superb facilities at Weymouth & Portland are acclaimed world-wide and with the successful UK Olympic bid, Portland Harbour hosted the watersports and there is a new multi-million pound National Sailing Academy which has hosted many national and international watersport events along with the Olympic Sailing Trials and the Olympics themselves!

Feel that sense of freedom flying across the waves on a small board with windsurfing, or get a rush throwing tricks kitesurfing!

Kite surfing is a cross between wakeboarding, snowboarding, surfing, windsurfing and powerkiting and there’s nothing to compare when it comes to pure adrenaline sport! It offers the kite surfer complete three dimensional freedom as with no other land or water based sport.

Portland's sheltered harbour provides a safe environment with excellent facilities for a wide variety of watersports including kitesurfing and windsurfing. Windsurfing is also safe on the eastern side at West Bay and Lyme Regis..

Kayaking around Weymouth and Portland, Dorset

Kayaking is fun!!! Some of the safest waters in the UK are at hand for novice and experienced sea kayaking and canoeing. There are plenty of bays and coves to explore with a variety of conditions from a gentle paddle along the coast to white water waves

Canoeists and Kayakers can enjoy the wonderful scenery of Dorset's designated World Heritage Coastline and what better way to explore it than from the sea. Novices can practice their skills in the safe arms of Portland Harbour, protected from the elements and tidal flows. Find tranquility with a gentle paddle along the fleet from Ferrybridge although we recommend that you consult a tide table as it can get very shallow at low tide.

With a strong easterly wind the bay of Weymouth, Overcombe Corner and Bowleaze Cove can produce a good swell for the more extreme kayakers wishing to challenge the elements with a spot of surfing.

Easily accessible safe launching facilities, canoe clubs and hire services available. During the planning of your trip please make yourself aware of all the local hazards to canoeists including tidal streams and currents. Always check the weather forecast. For your safety please inform the Coastguard, relative or friend when you embark on a canoeing or kayaking trip and give an estimated time of return.

For those with young children then the beach is always a hive of activities with very traditional fairground rides on the beach and even donkey rides.

There are regular beach activities and competitions taking place including sand sculpting ones.
