Just 10 minutes from Rhododendron, you'll stay in the quiet community of Timberline Rim, and be a quick drive from all the sites and landmarks along the Mount Hood Corridor.
Sink into the comfy couch in the living area of this charming home with its treasure chest coffee table, classic wood stove, and rocking chair where you just might lull yourself to sleep. Muted, earth-tone-hued walls blend perfectly with the wood ceilings and beams. Snuggle by the crackling warmth of a classic wood stove. Also, in the garage you can play a game of foosball or pool. Come bedtime, head upstairs where you'll find three bedrooms, one of which has a king bed, lots of closet space, bright colors, and a hint of the Far East in the decor. Another, also with a big closet, has a queen bed and a TV (no cable) for late night viewing. Kids (of all ages) can flip for the top spot on the twin bunks in the third bedroom. Up here, you'll also find a full bath with a tub/shower combination. There's also a half bathroom on the main floor. And you can pack a little lighter with the washer and dryer available for your use.
To get to this charming home, you'll travel on part of the old Barlow Trail (the last, treacherous leg of the Oregon Trail), the only thoroughfare for many decades before the modern highway whisked travelers to and fro. In addition to all the activities in and around Mount Hood, like hiking, biking, kayaking, and climbing, the Timberline Rim Community provides its own diversions, offering a seasonal pool and tennis court at its Timberline Ridge Recreation Club. Golfers: find your bliss at nearby Resort at the Mountain, just nine minutes away in Welches. In winter, Mount Hood is in its element, offering many places for skiers, boarders, to test their skills. The slopes at Skibowl and Timberline, site of the iconic Depression-Era lodge, are just 15 minutes away.
We had an amazing time at this rental. My husband and I chose this cabin for our outside wedding. the back yard was the perfect place. Even though it was a downpour, I couldn't have been more pleased.
We had a great weekend at this cabin! We had a group of six and our 13 month old! The layout of the house was very open and comfortable! The darts and hot tub where a hit! Very clean and well stocked kitchen to feed a group! Would stay again and recommend this to family and friends! :)
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay here. The yard is spacious (and fenced), and there are lots of fun things to do: horseshoe pit, mini billiards table, bikes, etc. The house is a great location for outdoors activities on Mt Hood, and the community has a pool, tennis court and access to a park on the Sandy River. We were quite comfortable in the cabin! We would stay here again - but I'd bring my own knives. The ones there are so dull as to be practically unusable. Also, I'd give the counters and table a good wipe-down myself: Everything was sticky and grimy. Yuck.
We had a wonderful stay at this property. The cabin was well stocked and the location was perfect for experiencing all that the Mt Hood area had to offer. The hot tub was perfect ending after our wonderful hike to Burnt Lake. Beds were comfortable and the fans were much appreciated to cool down the bedrooms since we were lucky to get such great warm weather on our trip. My 12 year old son was pleased with the movies and games provided, and our dog enjoyed the fenced in back yard to roam and explore. The neighborhood was fun to walk through and check out all the interesting cabins. The rec center looked fun, but we did not get a chance to try out the pool.
I would have rated this property with 5 stars except for a few needed repairs. The kitchen faucet needs a little attention, as do some the of the jets in the hot tub. The games in the game room are also in need of repair, but worked well enough to pass some time. None of the repairs are deal breakers, but would love to seem them fixed before our next trip.
Cant say enough about the location, grocery and great restaurants very close by and all the recreational activity's we wanted to enjoy were minutes away.
Great cabin, great location, perfect yard for our dog, comfy bed, super clean. We will definitely stay here again!
