About Amy Delaney & Barry Briley

Welcome to Duffer Hollow!

We are excited for you to stay in our family retreat here in Bethpage, TN, it's just outside Nashville and offers a great experience of the beautiful hill country. Our family has owned this property for a century, originally farming tobacco and sorghum here. My great-grandfather, Russell Duffer, started living in this house in the early 1900s and my grandmother, Mary Lynne, born in 1911, lived here before moving to Memphis to be a nurse after WWI. We are proud to offer our family home to you.

Love - Jeremy, Cori, Finn and Felicity

Amy Delaney & Barry Briley purchased this estate in 2016

Why Amy Delaney & Barry Briley chose Tennessee

Duffer Hollow juxtaposes the old world country with premium modern amenities. You can be soaking in our toasty jacuzzi and be looking at our 100 year old barn that Great-Grandfather used to keep his animals warm. You will enjoy hiking the 15 acres of hill country and pick wild blackberries from the vines scattered across the property. The spacious living area will keep everyone entertained with billards, ping pong and fiber optic internet. End the evening in the steel clawfoot soaking tub and sit by the fire of the orignal fireplace. We have generations of memories here and we hope you make some as well! We’ve shared more history and details about the property throughout the house. My son Finn and daughter Felicity love picking the blackberries from the vines by the barn

What makes this estate unique

This house has 7 br, 4 bath, and several secluded areas. One of the major focal points of Duffer Manor is the library. In the library you will be able to cozy up by the fireplace while reading your favorite book. Whether you enjoy shooting a game of pool, playing ping pong or just relaxing in the jacuzzi, Duffer Manor will appeal to all. For outdoor entertaining there are options of grilling, having a bonfire or hiking the 15 acres and experiencing the hill country how my family has for 100 years. There are 2 separate masters and 4 additional guest rooms. Many separate decks and porches are available for entertaining or relaxing. Away from it all you feel so secluded, but you are only a short drive to entertainment and downtown Nashville.

2016 Anderson Christmas Party

  • 5 of 5

The Anderson Christmas Party was a great success. We all enjoyed our stay at the Manor and had a wonderful time. As this was the Holiday season it was an awesome surprise to see a Christmas tree and decoration for the holiday season ready and waiting for us and the children to enjoy. We were able to enjoy the out door activities available as the temperature was very nice for us. The Hot Tub, Fire Pit and Grill were available and used for our pleasure. We would like to Thank the family for having us and we will definitely be in touch for future renting.

Wonderful Stay

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay in Bethpage. The house was beautiful - all decorated for Christmas for us. Plenty of space for our large family. Fully stocked kitchen. We enjoyed many games on the ping pong table, pool table and made much use of the hot tub!

The dryer (which seemed fairly new) broke the first time we used it and they had a service repair man there very promptly to fix it. Upon realizing he had to order a part the housekeeper took it upon herself to take care of all our needs with the dryer. She went above and beyond bringing up dry towels for us. We really appreciated her going the extra step.

The house is very unique and charming. We got a good ol game of sardines (similar to hide and seek) with adults and kids playing and had the best time.

We will definitely consider renting this house again for our family gatherings.

Exceeded our expectations! Had a GREAT time

  • 5 of 5

We had family from Chicago, TN and North Carolina all meet for Christmas here. There was plenty of space and things to do! The ping pong table and pool table were certainly hits for the entire stay. The hot tub was also a great commodity. I have stayed at many VRBO locations, but none have been so well stocked! from spices, nice plates and silverware, to having enough toilet paper for our entire stay! It was all so extremely amazing! We took a walk on Christmas day because it was so beautiful outside and the neighbor at the bottom of the hill was AMAZING!! She took time out of her Christmas, to share her animals and stories with us. Definitely one of my highlights of the entire trip. I had a chance to touch an emu egg!!! Thank you! Thank you for allowing us to stay at this house and create memories of a lifetime!

Great place for our family Thanksgiving

  • 4 of 5

My family is spread across three states and we wanted to find a place that would accommodate all of us for Thanksgiving - and be an equal distance away for everyone to travel to (out of fairness). We looked through several options on HomeAway & found Hancock Manor to be the best fit. The property was really great - and really remote. There was plenty of room for everyone to have their own sleeping quarters and enough spaciousness that we didn't feel like we were on top of each other all the time. The entire family LOVED utilizing the pool and ping pong tables and we greatly enjoyed the fire pit on our last nite there. We had a slight plumbing issue on our first day in the house (due to a pre-existing issue caused by other guests), but the owners were very quick to get a plumber on site to take care of the situation and we didn't experience any real disruption during our stay. I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a quiet, peaceful area to spend time with their large group. And while it IS somewhat remotely located, it's only about a 10-15 minute drive to the nearest large grocery store in Galatin. Oh - and the fresh cookies welcoming us were a huge hit! Pretty sure they were my niece's favorite part! Thank you, Hancocks! We had a great time!

EXCELLENT PALCE TO STAY AND ENJOY!! I WILL DEFINITELY RECOMMEND T0 OTHERS GOING TO TN!!

  • 5 of 5

Hancock Manor is spectacular! The drive up the lane to the house is beautiful and upon reaching the house, it simply took your breath away. The ambience of the house, inside and outside, was beautiful, spacious and so, so peaceful! If I had any questions or concerns, Rhonda and Josh were fantastic to deal with. Such nice home owners. Rhonda left us a big plate of delicious cookies and a welcome note which was a pleasant surprise.

We came to TN for a wedding in Franklin and just happen to stumble across Hancock Manor which had accommodations to fit our large group, 10 adults and 5 kids ranging in age 16 to 6 mos. for an excellent price. We had enough room to sleep everyone comfortably! The house and the apartment above the garage was very clean. The kitchen was well supplies with cooking utensils as well as the bathrooms having enough towels and toiletries to accommodate our stay. WIFI access was iffy, which we were fully informed of before entering the home but, you could text without any issues. Besides, it was vacation - a time to get away from technology. They had Direct TV access which was great for the little ones to get their daily cartoon fix in. :o)

We all had a great time having pool and chest tournaments with each other and enjoying the hot tub and building fires in the fire pit to end our busy days running around Nashville and Franklin. It was a pleasure walking down the lane to the neighbors house to pet her Emus, ducks, turkeys, chickens, cats and dogs. The neighbors were so nice. Donna was so sweet to my grandkids, such a joy to chat with her.

For grocery needs, there was a little convenient food/gas station down the road and a little further was a General Dollar Store for other necessities. If you wanted main food staples, Gallatin was the closest large city for Mall shopping, dining out and grocery shopping - only a 30-35 min drive. Nashville took about an hour to get there and Franklin another 15-20 min further. The scenery is so beautiful that the drive was not a problem, very easy to navigate from Bethpage to Nashville/Franklin. For traveling on a holiday weekend traffic was not bad at all.

If you want tranquility and some much needed relaxation Hancock Manor is the place to be!! My family had the best time ever!!

Thank you Rhonda, Monica and Josh, it was Fantastic!!
