Nice place to stay in St. Lucia. Excellent care by Manager Cyrus.
The Villa Papillion was a wonderful choice for our first time using VRBO.
The rental process was extremely easy and convenient and just as described on the web. Great customer service. Jill arranged our transportation from the airport to the Villa and Cyrus took great care of us and made sure we had everything we needed.
If you're looking for a quiet, private, romantic retreat away from the "All Inclusive" crowd, this is the perfect place. We loved it!
The location is beautiful and just a few minutes walk to Marigot Bay.
Make sure to do a day trip with Cyrus to Soufriere. It was the highlight of our stay.
We stayed in the smaller of two apartments and we were incredibly happy with our stay. The photos are perfectly accurate. The home is well-appointed and immaculate and has everything you would need. A short walk down the hill takes you to many restaurants and the ferry to the other side of the bay. It is a lovely place to be. The property is surrounded by lush, well-tended plantings and abundant fruit: coconuts, mangoes, limes, papaya and breadfruit! Evenings were full of hypnotic tropical nightsounds. The property manager Cyrus was friendly and attentive. We would not hesitate to stay here again!
Just got home from The Villa Papillon, and am missing the property and island already! Beautiful home and because Lisa and Larry (the properties owners) were not in residence, we were able to use the small but sufficient pool on the upstairs patio, along with the lounges and BBQ. We have to say that it made all the difference in the enjoyment of our stay as the weather is quite humid and the pool is very refreshing. The Hibiscus suite which we rented is a 1 bedroom, nice bath and kitchen and living room arrangement. Very comfortable for our 10 day stay, however, if you like a really soft bed, you'll have to adjust to a firm mattress. We brought kitchen supplies, and were very glad we did. Things like sugar, salt, cooking spices, coffee, zip lock bags, napkins and small kitchen items we use often, as these are not things you'll find supplied. Celinda, the housekeeper was at the villa regularly and brought us a few necessities that were necessary for us to cook meals. We use the kitchen and seldom go out to eat, and the food at the Super J market is fresh and reasonably priced, great veggies. We used Cyrus Brown, the house manager, exclusively for our trips around the island and for transportation to and from the airport. We did not rent a car, and are so happy we didn't as they drive an the left for one thing, potholes and 2 way roads for another. Plus, finding your way to the various sightseeing areas would have been a nightmare. Trust Cyrus as he is a life long resident and knows the islands best places for the activities that are important to you. Plus, if you try and go it alone, you will spend a lot more money than we did, and not see half as much of this wonderful island. We feel that in Cyrus, we made a friend. Be aware that the location of the Villa is on a very steep road, and the driveway to the Hibiscus Suite and stairs are also steep, so you will be going up down down every time you leave the room. The view from the patios on the property is beautiful. There are banana trees, mangos, papayas, lime trees and gorgeous 100' bamboo on the property and tropical flowers everywhere, which made for a nice fresh flower arrangement for the dining table. A gardener, Morphy, comes daily to sweep and maintain the garden and yard and does a great job. Every part of the villa was clean and well maintained. Just a few notes: Bring only money with no tears or creases as the local stores and banks will not take them. Deet is necessary.
We had a wonderful time staying at the Hibiscus Apartment at Villa Papillon. The apartment is very clean and lovely, and we appreciated the fully appointed kitchen for meal preparation. Property Manager Cyrus saw to all our needs and everyone associated with Villa Papillon made sure that our stay was just great.
Villa Papillon (we stayed in the one bedroom Hibiscus - very new, clean & comfortable with full air conditioning) is in a great location in Marigot Bay. Marigot Bay is one of the most beautiful spots we have ever visited throughout the Carribean. We were able to walk to a number of very good restaurants (Masala Bay, Rainforest, Capellas, & Chateau Mygo were all excellent for dinner). The beaches are small but not very crowed and were perfect for us. Cyrus (the house manager) is one of the nicest people you would ever want to meet. He made our trip much more enjoyable. We hired him to show us around the island & also took care of our airport transfers. He knows the island inside and out. He took great care of us.
If you are looking for nightlife, this is not for you. We would suggest the Rodney Bay Area. However, it is one of the most peaceful (& beautiful) areas of the island. If you enjoy the daylight hours ( beach, water sports, dinner out at good restaurants) more than nightlife; you would definitely enjoy this place. - Paul & Elaine
